No one was injured. Much better than the 1955 Le Mans disaster. It was a disaster, after all.

However, it makes me wonder if the barriers will be made stronger. It's happening with scary frequency, now.

As for my latest omg/wtf moment, I'm surprised to see AJ Allmendinger back in a race car. :ouch: I'm disappointed to see people giving the guy a second chance, when most people don't even get a first chance in motorsports. :(

That's a bit harsh, considering NASCAR can't provide the evidence that they had caught him using an illicit drug or abusing prescribed drugs,

And well, lets face it, this is his first and last real chance, Red Bull screwed him all the way, They forced him to drive for RuSport in Champ car, In which he didn't want to do, then they promised him an F1 test if he could prove him self in the sport, Has a punch on with Carl Russo, moves to Forsythe and gets his first 3 wins in a row, then Red Bull claim they won't fully sponsor or own a Champ Car team as it would conflict with Eddie Cheever's contract in Indy car,
A.J. then fights his way into contention for the title, If he was to finish 3rd or higher Sebastien bordais had to finish 7th or lower IIRC, then last minute Red Bull pull him out of the car to race NASCAR Something A.J didn't want to do until later in his career,
Forsythe are then forced to find a replacement driver "Billy Boat" for the last race at Mexico,
4 months later A.J partners Brian Vickers in Red Bull Racing NASCAR for speed weeks at Daytona,
While secretly Newman/ Haas/ Lanigan racing had sorted a contract with Red Bull in the week leading up to the final race at Mexico to sponsor the car left by Bruno Junquira and have Graham Rahal drive it,
A.J. Was absolutely 🤬 off at Red Bull for doing this, and said several times, A.J fulfilled his drivers contract with Red Bull and left,

This does happen to a lot of drivers, but not usually ones with the talent of A.J, unless your a second or third driver in an endurance race,

With a little more input you could make pretty nice videos but these are all crap. Every time I see a racing team bringing out a video I'm hoping to see the car on and off the jacks etc, like they are jumping too.

The following link is not Motorsports related. However, it truly is an amazing story of survival.

Not worthy of a new thread (best place I could find for this), but worthy of saying ... OMG / WTF.

crash

It would be easier with the F1 car, as they could have 2 men doing it in one swift move, as for air systems it would destroy it,

Agreed, but it would work with the F1 car being manually jacked, it would do some damage to the air systems,

He's more than lucky. Fortunately for him the drivers seat is on the left hand side of the car, which suffered the least amount of damage on the front end.

I didn't really know where to post this, but I was watching this thinking how on earth he didn't have any contact:

Probably Brilliant Racing Videos thread.
This is great. Alonso and Massa take turns hooning the 458. Alonso definitely looks the most afraid. Also Massa could use a booster seat.

I like how the two guys just appear from each side of the truck with a "What are you doing there, bro?" look on their faces.

The guy on the right had the look of "Dude, you almost dented my truck!".

This for me is the single most fantastic sound ever created by a car .... sure its personal and others love different kind of tunes....but this is mine!!! :

Turn your speakers way up....waaaayyyy uuuppp and listen to the sound of pure metal screaming and being punished to the limit!!

Spy.

I figured as much, But its well past midday everywhere, Isn't that the unspoken rule of the ending of this day?

If not then I have around 13 day's of April fools to make up for!
