When traction control was banned from Formula 1 the last time, Ron Dennis was worried about losing all his electronics engineers. What did he do to stem the tide? And why might Williams stalwart Frank Dernie have been interested in this?
OK. Ron got together with his fabulously-wealthy friend, and between them they bought British hi-fi company Audiolab. They then turned it into Tag McLaren Audio, and designed and built some excellent, but fearsome-looking hi-fi kit. Think Bang and Olufsen on acid.
Audiolab have recently started trading under that name again, after being bought from TAG McLaren by International Audio Group, who own Quad and Wharfedale.
Frank Dernie would have been interested because he's a hi-fi obsessive, and has been pursuing private projects on pyramid-shaped speakers that are ultra-low wattage.
Next question then:
Petter and Henning Solberg are brothers who often compete in the same rallies. But when was the last time two brothers competed as drivers in the same team, who were they, which event was it, and what were their results?
Note: this does not include Gronholm/Rautianen (brothers-in-law), nor does it include Gilles/Herve Panizzi. In each of these cases, they are in the same car.
