I give up. The Zanardi donuts began in 1997. Add up all wins in 1997 and '98, minus one at Long Beach 1998 and the answer is 11.

What track has the steepest banking still in use today?
 
Bristol Motor Speedway in Bristol, Tennesee at 36 degrees?

Although I believe the Monza banking was higher, it hasn't been used since the 1000kms sportscar race in 1969.

Mulsanne isn't a track? It's only a corner and also a straight. If you mean the track that Le Mans is raced on, do you mean Circuit de la Sarthe?

Indeedy, Bristol is the right answer. I don't know how steep Monza's was - a lot than 36 degrees, I suspect. this picture was taken in 2003.

Those guys who drove those banked corners of AVUS and Monza had balls. I couldn't do it. Think: Pedal to the metal, speed is almost 200kmh or over and if you do the slightest mistake your out of the track hanging head down from your Ferrari on a tree. :sick:
 
You've got that right. And remember, those Mercedes-Benz and Auto Union streamliners could top 240 mph. And this was in 1937! I wish I could have seen them in action. They look so futuristic, they would not look out of place even now.

BTW, I think Monza was also 43 degrees, but that's just a guess.

Sorry to hold up the thread. Okay, what is the longest circuit to ever hold a Formula One race?

(If this has been asked before, feel free to move on to the next question.)
 
There was a question regarding the longest racing circuit, regardless of it being used to host a GP or not, which is the Isle of Mann circuit. I think Long Madonie was driven as the Targa Florio, but not as a GP Circuit per se, especially since they only used it until WWI or somehting like that.

That being said, I'm going to go with Pescara, 25,55 kms. (15.87 miles), including a 6,5 km. straight :drool:
