i agree it is fake bidding but if i remember rightly, You can put in a maximum bid and ebay automatically automatically bids for you.

So say i was buying something and you wanted it too. i put £50 as my highest bid and you wanted it too but you put say £60 as your top price it would bid up in £10's untill you were the higest bidder. so your name would appear 5 times as you automatically bidded in amounts of £10.

Hope that makes sense.
