Yeah, this was a tough one. I went with Toyota cause of the stable nature of both the 86 Gr4 and the Supra Concept Gr3. I'm hoping this will pay off with less yuck-ups (which is always the fastest way..!), over the course of three seasons. Only time will tell...

Funny since I always avoid those cars for the opposite reasons (can’t keep them on track unless I drive like an old lady)

I would like to join with the Ferrari ! Which track will we have on 7th ? Could not find that info.

So I'm about to do the unthinkable. I'm signing with Porsche even though I've worked for Ford for 20 years and my times are faster in both Mustangs. But I'm more consistent in the Porsche overall and my job is not paying me to race for Ford in the game nor would they even care if I was good enough to win it all. I'm not good enough of course.

I had to do the same. I liked the gr.4 Mustang, but couldn't keep the gr.3 on the track. So I decided to sign with Mazda to help me train for our league also. I'm loving the gr.4 Altenza! I guess it fits my racing style better than the Ferrari I was using before. The Mitsubishi FTO Super Touring car from old school GT games was my favorite to race. The handling of the gr.4 Altenza reminds me of it.

For the FIA Manufacturer championship I went with Porsche because I'm pretty comfortable with both cars and can place fairly well with them, plus I've been using them since the second season of the FIA Manufacturer Test Seasons. Today's race went alright but made a small mistake on the final lap and dropped from 11th to 14th.

You are on the list with the Ferrari.

Only those who finish a lap or more down in a race get the next track location. Everyone else see it for the first time when they enter the lobby on race night including myself.

SATURDAY July 7th

Welcome to the MSN (Monthly Saturday Night) 1.5hr endurance race Club. Where everyone must run a different Gr.4 car.

This is not your typical race Club

There is no point system or Awards handed out for our race's. You are not punished in anyway if you can make a race.

The focus here is to have a fun but very competitive race every month and with members running in the FIA events or just life events outside of the game it is not always possible to make every race. So Your spot and car will always be held for you until the next monthly race.

This also allows for anyone to join one of our endurance races and be competitive while being on the same level as everyone else from race to race. You can choose to run the entire series or just one race if an open spot is available.

The 1.5hr endurance races will be held on the first Saturday of every month. There will be 12 races in a season.


Lobby opens at

7:00pm EST for the US
12:00am BST for the UK
11:00pm UTC

Race Starts at

8:00pm EST - US
1:00am BST - UK
12:00am UTC

Anyone just joining or who finished on the lead lap at the last endurance race will not be given the new track location until your in the lobby on race day.

Anyone that finished a lap or more down will be given the next track location along with the track time.

This way all you lead drivers will be on the same even playing field and the other drivers will have a chance to practice and make it more competitive for them.

Please check to make sure your local time corresponds with the event times.

1. Private Lobby opens at 7:00pm along with Practice/ Qualifying for everyone who has pre-registered.

You must use the car you signed up with for the entire event and everyone must run a different Gr.4 car.

2. At 7:45pm Practice/Qualifying session ends. A Pre Race Check will take place at this time to make sure everyone is in their correct cars.

3. A Short 15 minute break will also take place before racing starts. Please take this time to get yourself ready for the next 1.5 hours.

4. At 8:00pm the 1hr 30 min endurance race starts.

Lap cars ghosted is now off with the addition of blue flags now added in the game for lap traffic.

Please Note
If your new and sign up to race then don't show up for that race your name and car will not remain on the list.

If you just don't show up for two months in a row your name and car will be removed from the list. However if you choose to run every other month then your name and car will remain on the list.

You are expected to race clean and to be respectful to all other racers. We have had some outstanding clean & competitive races so far and it will remain that way.

Im going to look at the BoP specs of the remaining cars and make a decision tomorrow.
 
So below is our list as of now in the order as people signed up.

Should we ever run into the problem that more people show up for a race than we have spots for then it will go by the first 16 people on this list. This has not been a problem as of yet. So if 18 people show up then two people won't make it into the race.

But...

If all the cars end up being taken and everyone shows up to race then we will run two lobbies that day. You will then be moved to the correct lobby based on your qualifying time. This would put 16 in one lobby and 11 in the other.

I'm thinking the 4C since I already have a livery made for it but will test a bit later just to be safe. Fuel x4 and tires x6 means roughly how many pit stops?

I have decided to choose the McLaren. They all handle pretty well and not knowing the track means I can't choose power over weight or vice versa. McLaren is a good middle ground.

That all depends on your pit strategies. 3 stops is normally the minimum amount you can get away with in 1.5hr
Others pit more often running med or soft tires.

I like the McLaren just because its a good all around car at all tracks. Anyway it's yours.
 
Sounds good. The SNAIL Endurance race whoever chooses the next combo picks the fuel/tire wear they want and sometimes it's a bit high. People would do double RS tire stints refuelling at the second tire stop but they were pitting 6+ times. That's just silly to me. I agree with you that a 90 minute race should have 2-4 stops depending on strategy.

FYI the next SNAIL Enduro is the Viper Gr. 3 at Interlagos with fuel wear x6 and tire wear x9. RH RM and RS tires. 90 minutes.

I agree and think 2-4 stops feels just about right. We also don't do RSS tires in this series. Only RS RM RH.
 
Yea those tires wouldn't last long no matter what.

Yes we are glad to see @DesertPenguin and @Macboyilija join us as I have raced with both of them in some N-Class races and they are good and clean racers but I'm getting worried that I might be taking on to many people. So far enough people have been missing a race here and there that it's left us with 4 open spots the past two races. I don't think this upcoming race will be a problem as I know a few people missing this race and I expect 4 to fall of the list. Only time will tell.

I have about 4 more people that might want to race too.
 
Could I perhaps suggest asking everyone for confirmation this week? If we get a full lobby confirmed setup an order of reserves? Perhaps if not in lobby by half past unless arranged obviously first reserve gets in and so on?

I don't think we will need to this month but it is an option going forward as I can probably get all the car spoken for
 
I'll have to make a note for my boss that I can't work past 7pm that day and we should be good.
 
I really want to join this series, but not being able to drive my trusty Viper is killing me :(

I am curious about the Bugatti, but I'm not sure...

Yeah that Viper was gone very quickly. Think it was the 4th car taken overall.
I know the Bugatti is stupid fast but I'm not sure how it does on fuel and tire wear over a long period of time.

You can also wait until after the July 7th race. I know a few good cars will be dropping off the list and becoming available again. Not the Viper tho

For me that is a reason to not join, internet racing leads to a lot of frustration already. I would love to race with you guys, but if everyone else is going to know where the race is (and thereby are going to practice the track and have advantage) I rather playing arcade solo. I don't see the point of this secrecy, do you want to discourage new racers?
