Awesome race today with the TC. 33 laps with Tha Ghoast no more than 2 seconds behind with waiting for me to make a mistake (like a ghost *ba dum tss) only to battle it out on the last lap. Great race Ghoast 👍

Odd race for me... I started 3rd instead of 2nd as I qually'd, but then I got a killer launch. I went for the passes that looked very doable, but I hit FBM, :S and got damage. Hope I didnt give you damage, Jason. I limped around till lap 5, then pitted, and when I came out I had the grip-glitch again.. :x Then later on around lap 18 I think, a stranger joined in and I glitched even worse and went off track. So I called it as enough's enough. Sucks, cause I had good pace and woulda liked to at least finish on the 2nd step.
The multi-classes caused no issues that I saw. Passing the Mazdas went really smooth and it seemed like everyone was doing the right things at the right times. The races should be great fun, if the internetz work out us all next time!

Sweet Race! Had a ton of fun even though not everybody showed

I agree that everyone did a great job with the traffic.

The main issue from what I could see was that two guys decided to re-enter pits during line ups and screwed up the grid order for everybody at the start. Lets make sure that doesn't happen again...

Corvettes head into Turn 1

Followed close behind by the Mazdas

Four Corvettes and a CorkScrew. Kinda sounds like an adult film…

Four Mazda Miatas and a CorkScrew. I’m less interested in this adult film…

After only a few laps, Ghoast and Worst_Driver pull away from the other Roadsters. This battle goes on for an hour!

At the same time, Rob with his flaming Roadster and Carl are fighting through the corkscrew

It’s not long before the leaders of the Corvette group start to catch the Roadsters for the first time

Kinda looks like the Corvette is about to eat that Mazda for dinner.

Finally Alec gets by and the Leaders are through.

Sometimes the passes are a little closer….

And sometimes they’re ultra sketchy

On lap 13 I pit for the first time, and come out just in front of Wander who pitted on lap 5.

A few laps later, Jason pits as well. He exits in front of Whitey, while still holding the overall lead. He appears to be on a 1 lap strategy; same as azbay.

As the race goes on, I continue to push hard to make my 2 stop strategy work

By now, Jason realized he didn’t take enough fuel and is forced to pit again. He comes out behind Azbay, and with three laps to go has almost caught him into the hairpin.

With much fresher tires, he finally makes the pass for the lead into the corkscrew with two laps to go.

The following lap though, Jason runs out of fuel and Azbay takes the lead right back in the same exact spot.

Just one turn later, I make it past the fuel-less Jason as well for second overall. You can see Azbay in the distance, but with 1 lap to go it would be tough to catch up.

Pushing hard to catch up, I get a little opposite lock out of the corkscrew

Azbay holds it together and takes the overall win by 4 seconds over Nasty (background)

Meanwhile, Ghoast and Worst_Driver are having an intense battle for the Roadster class title. One the final lap, Worst trails Ghoast by a car length.

But gets a great run through the sweeper and goes for the pass!

He makes it stick for the lead just barely!

With two turns to go in the race, Ghoast decides to visit the beach.

Worst_Driver is able to pull a slight lead and win his class by just three seconds over Ghoast (background)!

Good stuff, had loads of fun. Intense battle with Worst for some 30+ laps, then I got tired of racing. Had a six pack of Coronas and a cooler full of ice in the trunk, so why not chill on the beach?

I gave some positions at start, but should've dropped to the back of the vettes. Will not happen again. One more lap nasty, you had me... I would have been out of gas going into T1. Went red at the corkscrew lap 35. Cut it as close as i could, but sadly couldn't make the two stopper work.

Learned alot in that race... Got a little lucky in my fuel strategy, could have underfilled bad. One stop made it simple enough for me, lol.

Looked like a fun race for most and although my pace wasn't competitive (for various reasons) i enjoyed the interaction with the RM's. Although i was probably a little too kind in getting out the way for them.

And how the heck did I start on pole? Sorry 'bout that.

So I've decided the 12 that showed up for practice get a guaranteed grid spot.

That means if anyone else wants to sign up, please do so. There are four spots left and those will be given to the four fastest drivers based on qualy.

I will host a qually room tonight. Even the drivers with guaranteed spots need to qualify so that I can split the grid. There will be four publicly held qualy rooms (two this week, and two the week leading up to the deadline of march 8).

I'm off to the Real Laguna Seca on Thursday for a two week vacation. Hopefully most qualy can get done before I leave

I don't get how many laps we are allowed. Can we run the fuel down and fit new rubber? Or is it one set of rubber, one tank of fuel, best you can do till the tyres/tires drop off?

Hey Rob. Good to be back

No worries about the time. You can run as many laps as you want. Again these times are only so that I can sort the classes and wont effect your starting position. As a result, no point killing yourself for a perfect lap. Just find your normal speed and send me that lap time. You get to decide how much time you want to spend at finding that speed.

One question; why do you set the race quality to very high? The higher the setting the more "driving information" is passed between players (according to PD), which results in less bandwidth, & the potential for causing more lag/disconnects.

I will assign cars on Saturday. Hopefully we'll have our final driver qualified in by then so we'll know for sure where everyone stands. If not though, I'll assign cars based on the above and when we eventually sign on the 16th driver, they'll just drive whatever is remaining.
