I dont think your sucking or suuuuuucking, but I do think you've been drinking too much perhaps lol. I don't see anywhere that has you listed as 13th? What homepage are you referring too?

Do you mean on the race results page? If so, that is showing you as finishing in 13th position
overall in the race. Unfortunately 13th place in the race is only good for 15th place overall because Litchi and Joe both scored bonus points. :

You're def 15th.from what I can see :)

I never claimed to be a math genius :)

Well, on this side of the Atlantic, being able to subtract one 2 digit number from another 2 digit number doesn't exactly gain you genius status :p ............................. seriously though, you do an excellent job organising these events and everyone appreciates the time you put into them. 👍

I take it back about the vettes having it easier. Had a little run with (Arizona) Chris today and it's quite difficult predicting where the Mazdas will be when you reach them! Kinda worried about navigating my way past 8 of them ~5 times during the course of the race.

So can you make sure we get a practice race going in the pre-race lobby this week please Bill? Part of me thinks if we'd have had one last week there might have been less race incidents. Plus we maybe could've sniffed out the lagger.

See you guys Sunday if not before.

The only issue with running a practice race is that it detracts from every bodies regular practice. Ill try tk start the room a little early Sunday so we can maybe squeeze one in.

We did have the 35 lap race.last month, but I guess.you.were in the Mazda that week.

The.Vettes.are.not.easy for sure, you just have to be patient. Even if you gain half a second ten different times by making.a.closs pass on a Mazda, you don't even come close to making up for the 25 second penalty you'll get if you screw up the 11th pass. Determine your line early, make your move obvious, and if its questionable just wait.

I'll be on Saturday early evening for practice as well.

Ok, fair enough. Hopefully running in the practice room should give enough interaction between the classes without needing a race. Might catch you tomorrow evening too.

This was all in the e-mail I just sent, but some of you don't check that :)

Firstly everyone welcome Carl #2! After unfortunately missing round 1 due to a scheduling issue, Carl (rally06pig) will be joining us this week in the Mazda class. Best of luck to him.

-----

IMPORTANT RULE CHANGE:

The end of race procedure is going to change slightly. We had an issue last time where the Mazdas were still racing, but there were computer controlled Corvettes in our way who had already finished. The new rules are as follows:

The race will be set to 51 laps.

The length of the Corvette race is fixed at 50 laps.
The length of the Mazda race is fixed at 45 laps.

After the Corvette drivers finish their 50th lap, their race is over. They should however continue through the next lap and enter the pits next time by. On this "cool-down" lap, they should not interfere with a Mazda race under any circumstances. That means NO PASSING!

The Mazdas should do the same thing. After they finish their 45th lap, they should continue through the next lap and enter the pits.

-------

If anybody is confused about the rule change, please let me know. Also, it sounds like we're on track for full attendance this week (all 16 drivers!). If you have to back out for any reason, you'r crazy, but please let me know ASAP!

Lastly, just to reiterate, the following are the class assignments for this week:

MAZDA MX5 TC

Worst driver
azbay
The Ghoast
Carlos
Whitey
Dragwrxer
Litchi
Rally06pig

CORVETTE Z06 RM

Fabian
Rob
Rayza
Bill
mrjones
Jason
Wanderlust
GOINDYCOLTS

GOOD LUCK EVERYONE! See you Sunday 2.30 Eastern!

Sorry for leaving guys. I wasn't confident enough in my own abilty. After qualifying 3rd in the roadsters. I got a slightly rough start. Litchi was behind me and kept locking his brakes up. Which putextra pressure and kinda scared me in to making mistakes. I had to avoid him one corner and move out the way and give up the position. After that I just drove like a granny. Making errors left right and centre. In the end I nearly took out a vette by making an unpredictable change of direction to let them pass. And that was the point I realise I would just mess up your race if I didn't back out. Sorry to all.

Dc with 10 laps left. Not cool. It was fun though, thanks for letting me participate. I've never been good in the Vette.

I understand your frustration. Sorry to hear you weren't enjoying yourself. I know you're good enough to regroup mentally though when those things happen, so hopefully moving forward you wont feel the need to drop out. More importantly though, if you must drop out, DO NOT LEAVE THE LOBBY! We start getting randoms and it's not fair to the other drivers, which messes up everyones race far more than one slightly errant driver.

--

Sorry to hear you got Disconnected Joe. Don't feel to bad about being slow in the Vettes though, I got smoked too even after qualifying third.

--

Brilliant race overall though! I'll tally up the point later. I still can't tell who won.

Yep, good event. I had a feeling a 3 stop (in on 11, 23 & 36) wouldn't be as bad as it looked on paper. Meant i could run qually style laps for the entire race and never really have to worry about the tyres going off. No way i fancied doing 16/17 laps on a stint! Shame Fabian under fuelled but I think I had him pegged anyway; only just. But props for running no ABS! You definitely take the moral victory for that. And well done to whoever won overall if Bill ever works it out

Know what you mean. I had a similar mind-altering incident last week when I got violated on lap 6. It totally knocks your confidence and takes a while to get your head right again. Best if you can hang in there though like Bill says.

Watching some of the replay today, fantastic race by almost everybody! Other than me being an idiot in the qualifying race and throwing away my 3rd place start, the race looked super smooth! I don't know if anyone crashed the entire race?

Obviously a 2-stopper was not the way to go. I thought I was in good shape until I left the pits for the second time and realized I was already way behind. Not sure how I screwed that one up so badly.... Did Jason pit twice or thrice?

Anyway thanks again to everyone who raced with us. Had a blast even though I got smoked this time :)

Congrats to Rob for beating a wickedly fast Jason and Fabian and winning the overall race and the Corvette Class, and congrats to Yannik for winning an incredibly hard fought MX5 race.

Here are the race results.

Vette
Rob - 1:13.59.125
Perro +12.231
Jason +20.416
Nasty +56.104
Wander DNF

MX5
Worst driver - 1:15.17.687
The Ghoast +2.202
Whitey +46.246
Litchi +55.746
Rally +59.083
Azbay +1:15.849

What I thought was pretty interesting looking at the total times from last race, is that both Ghoast and Worst Driver were faster by almost 15 seconds than Fabian was in the last race (winner of Rd 1 MX5).

Conversely though, Rob, Fabian and Jason all obliterated Worst_Drivers time in the Corvette from last week (winner of Rd 1 Corvette).

Clearly as all figured out the traffic and strategy thing a little bit, because the grid was faster across the board. Good job to everyone!

With that said, here is the important stuff.

I just looked at the results and tallied up the points. And the winner by 1 point, is Fabian!

Congratulations to him, and also to Yannik for finishing as runner up. He missed out literally by only 1 point!

Also, you'll notice a three way tie for 6th place. Literally all three had the exact same average race finish (4th) so there was no tie-breaker.

Here are the unofficial results:

1st - Perro - 77pts
2nd - Worst_Driver - 76pts
3rd - Tha-Ghoast - 68pts
4th - Red_Leader - 65pts
5th - fbmautopilot - 51pts
6th -iamsupernasty -50pts
6th - azbay - 50pts
6th - whitey - 50pts
9th - Litchi - 45pts
10th - Wander - 42pts
11th - rayzablayz -27pts
12th - carlos - 26pts
13th - rally06pig - 23pts
14th - mrjones80 - 23pts
15th - dragwrxer - 21pts
16th - goindycolts - 20pts

Congrats again to everyone! Can't wait for the next event! Expect early May for something new.

I still think we could look at incorporating penalties into qualifying. Then turn it off again for the races. All we'd have to do is line up on track to set the grid.

At the moment, what goes on in qualifying remains a bit of a mystery. If we are supposed to be running to the letter of the law, the white line, then I saw some illegal qualifying laps which stood. Fair enough, the odd track boundary infraction during a race is expected but for qualifying when there's a significant number of points available and a favourable grid slot for the qually race (leading to more points) for just that 1 lap, it needs to be clean. It's not a rant as such, just a suggestion of how the qualifying system could possibly be improved? It's a shame it doesn't 'red' your time out when you go off like in time trial.

But yeah, another highly successful race event from the nasty camp. Good work as usual Bill. 👍 You still open for suggestions for the next event? Might try some combinations out. I hear the Audi R10 on sports soft at Le Sarthe is good
