The only way a V6 Fbody will be a sleeper is with a turbo or two stuffed under the bonnet.
But even then, it will still be an F-Body, so people will automatically assume that it is a V8. And well in the know people will assume that it is turbocharged if not a V8.

That being said, there is still nothing wrong with a V6 F Body. You could be working under the hood, drop the wrench on the manifold and accidentally add 10 horsepower.

That'd be an awesome mistake, but knowing me if I drop the wrench in there it'll add that 10 then drop 20 when it breaks something falling all the way through.

Outta drop a Z/28 or an SS hood onto it if I get the V6 just for kicks.

 Thanks for the chuckle. That's almost true. And I agree that there is absolutely nothing wrong with V6 Fbodies. Hell, the 3.8L models had what 205bhp and 230tq? Not to bad considering with as you put it a wrench you can add some decent power. And lets not forget that even in V6 trim Fbodies are still sexy where as it took the V6 Mustang until 2005 to get some decent good looks.

Yeah, the only difference was wheels and the hood.

Mustang, well, bumpers/hood/wheels/suspension.

They are both awesome either way

Not necessary: "I was walking to the car with a cup of coffee and slipped. The cup landed on the manifold, shattered, and created a working turbocharger that added 80 BHP and 120 lb. ft."
In fact, adding a V8 to a V6 car kind of ruins the fun.
Hell, I'd engine swap a 4.3L, then turbocharge that.

I think you missed what I said there.
I said I could drop on the Z/28 or SS HOOD, not the engine.

4.3 then turbo? But I can use the same mounts and drop in an LS series engine!!

The 4.3 while old isn't a bad engine, they will take just about any sot of abuse you throw at it. Not to mention they are cheaper then dirt.

+1 On the 4.3L V6. Would be a great engine choice for the 4th gen Fbody. Might surprise some SS/WS6 owners to see/hear a reborn Cyclone/Typhoon in coupe form blow pass them on the motorway. :D

Turbo charging a 4.3 is expensive though, $5000-$6000 seemed to be the average cost on the s10forum with people who did it. Although the block will take a ton of boost.

That's definately a good thing!

How? I've never heard of any forced induction on a USDM engine that costed that much. I need links to said topics so I can ask them WHY they wasted that kind of money. I highly doubt putting a turbo on a 4.3 costs $5,000. No way.

He means buying a kit for it, because there is no aftermarket for the engine so everything is expensive. I would just use a turbo system for a 3800 and adapt it.

What he said.

And if anyone could track down actual Typhoon parts they paid through the nose for them. Go over to www.s10forum.com and look in the sub section of F/I, you'll see what people are doing. Maybe people have found a cheaper way now but pretty much the sole reason I never considered doing it was the huge cost. This is why most guys do an LS1 swap, it's far cheaper.

Well that explains it--but doesn't make sense. $5,000 is way too much for just a turbo kit. I would do the same, find some turbo and have an exhaust manifold fab'd for it and be out the door maybe $2,000 for parts and labor for it all.

Good luck for your search, if I was in USA a 4th Gen Camaro V6 would have been my first car for sure.

Or you can be EPIC and buy one of these:

gm-ecotec-turbo-engine-2377.jpg

Same power as the 3800 S/C, better on gas, totally unique. Could easily be boosted past the 300 BHP mark without much of an issue. Would be fun just to give it a try...

The Ecotec Turbo is EPIC FAIL. I've already outlined why that engine should never be in the 2009 Camaro, so why would he spend more money to put it into his?

Except the earth shattering lag.

I think you were being sarcastic, but just in case.
Camaro + 4cyl engine =/= EPIC

In cars they help a lot, in humans they help a lot too. I'm an ugly critter myself and it affects certain aspects of my life.
Still, if MustangGT90210 likes it, that's completely up to him.

I'm not attractive, in fact i'm damright hideous! I'm still getting married in May 2009 though. That was totally off subject.
