The seats in that SE don't appear to be stock...

They match nothing else in the interior.

Good spot RJ.

I'd probably want a nice set of buckets to throw in over, something like the Recaros in the EVO. I need to sit in one to know how they feel first though.

Woot it's table time
Code:
1995 Prelude Si/SE
0-60: 7.8
1/4 : 15.9

1995 Prelude VTEC
0-60: 6.7
1/4 : 15.1

1995 Mustang GT 5.0L
0-60: 6.7
1/4 : 15.1

1999 Mustang V6 3.8L
0-60: 8.6
1/4 : 16.5

Beats the V6 that would be it's competition, and runs a fairly close race with a GT of the same vintage, but is more practical...sweet. The VTEC Prelude keeps up with the stang though...

Odd that the Prelude has the balls to reel in the Mustang GT on the top end of the track like that... In fact, the test car would have to be the VTEC model. The Si/SE Prelude invariably has a worse P:W ratio, and since it's losing time early on due to FWD... Those test numbers are a bit screwed. The V6 Mustang numbers sound about right, maybe a little slow.

EDIT: You want to test that theory, Toro? I know there's plenty of Cobra owners who disagree with you, especially 1999-2004 Cobra owners.

It's still a Fox. Well, it's as much of a Fox as the 1994-8 cars are.

And it turns left/right, a Fox Mustang weakness.

Those numbers for the SE/Si are correct, because these are the comparable VTEC models.
Code:
1994 Honda Prelude VTEC 7.2 15.1
1995 Honda Prelude VTEC 6.7 15.1

And the 2004 Mustang V6 3.9L is 8.3 to 60

Well, it's as much of a Fox as the 1994-8 cars are.
Very true. It also has a wonderful thing called "independent rear suspension," which is something that no prior Fox Mustang had. Thus allowing the SVT cars to handle quite good, and the non-SVT and pre-1999 cars to still handle like ass.
Regardless, you would be hard pressed to find a stock Mustang that could outhandle a Prelude, SVT or not, so I think my obvious sarcasm still stands.

And I loved driving the Prelude way more than the 2004 slushbox stang I get to drive now...

It felt really dialed in and fast. And I could HEAR the exhaust with the windows open 👍 Needed a front end alignment, and it pulled right, but still, best drive I've had so far

I'd like to say that the Ford Ranger is a very nice truck. It can haul a decent amount of stuff. And it handles amazingly. I don't have my license yet. But I get to drive my brother's every once and a while around parking lots. They're definitely not sluggish what-so-ever either.
Great gas mileage too. Insurance seems to be no problem for my brother either.

If it has been dismissed as an option. Its a damn shame.

I will only consider one Ranger. Ever. And that's the 2.3L 4-pot 5spd. Same engine as my mom's escape, it's no slug, definately, but not like Prelude/Mustang GT fast. If you're talking about a V6 Ranger and gas mileage, then you're sadly mistaken. A V8 F150 gets comparable mileage. I do like the trucks, but they aren't my first choice. Insurance probably isn't too bad there either, like you said, always a good thing.

The Prelude that you posted has the SE wheels, but it appears that the seats have been swapped, they dont match the tan carpet on the floor. I think I was wrong on the leather interior part as being part of the SE package.

2.3L Ranger with a 5-speed... And a turbocharger.

200+hp, 3200lbs FTMFW.

Ahh what a timebomb

Who knows. Still a cool car nonetheless.

CASE IN POINT: The Cosworth Sierra engine was derived from the Pinto mill. versions of said engine could make over 600HP.

Exactly. 200 HP out of one is nothing, especially when they is little more than what Ford did when they slapped them in the Mustang/T-Bird. It would be like driving a Mustang SVO with cheap insurance and a bedliner.

Like an SVO, but with an ancient chassis that was just on par back in the mid 80's.

They make par for what they are built for. The 1/4 mile. Turning is for pu$sys in the Mustang Book

Yet oddly, the first-gen Mustangs wanted nothing to do with straight-line speed; they were meant as fun cars.

And yes, the SVO's chassis dated back to 1979 in the Mustang alone, a little earlier in truth (Fairmont).

Oddly, said chassis remained a good, solid base all the way until the end of 2004.

'85 Trans Am

About 18 mpg, most likely 200$/month insurance. V8. 75,000 miles.

What are some characteristics of a 3rd gen T/A?

I'll want me some loud flowmasters, even if it is slower than some modern cars :p

EDIT: Bluebook Suggested Retail on an excellent condition '88 Trans Am is $3,005. I smell haggling if I do this.

A characteristic of that Trans Am:
Dodgy photos
Almost looks like a Fiero because of dodgy photos.
