Are you leaking any fluids? I'd make sure the water pump is good, I think they are serp. belt driven so its shouldn't be too hard to take a look and make sure its spinning freely.
It's dripped out a little water after stopping, but I suspect that's from the fact we overfilled the overflow resevoir a bit... I'll look into it more later, when I have more money. I need a job!
Since you're running into problems, I guess I won't file a report of you stealing such an immaculate F-150 battleship. ;)

I hope that the problem gets resolved cheaply. :)

Speaking of issues, I don't know if this is, but my Check Engine light is on, where can I go to get codes pulled for free? Advance can't do it, 'cause it's a '91, and I'd imagine OBD1. One cause for it could be the fact that the cats were taken off when the duals were put on, but past that I can't think of anything.

And I took a few pix tonight, nothing artsy, just to show some of the interior/engine bay with my cell

If, in the extremely unlikely event that it's anything like a mercedes, there will be a little black box with a bunch of holes in it. you can build a code reader for 15 bucks out of banana plugs, a momentary switch, and an LED light. Then you would have to get a PDF file with all of the codes.

EDIT: Bingo. try this link: Linky

So small F150 update - Bought some SeaFoam today to clear out my fuel system, and got some free injector cleaner, which I'll use at my next oil change. Hopefully that cures the slight hesitation I get. I'm just starting with cheap things first. Next up will be spark plugs. Then distributor/etc

I. Love. SeaFoam.
Find a vacuum line that runs into the middle of your intake manifold, suck about 1/3 of the bottle into said line let sit for ~5 minutes, start 'er up and let the good times begin! Also take a video of it, and do it in a parking garage or a friends garage if possible.

+1 ^ what he said. Don't forget 250 miles before your next oil change run 1.3 of seafoam in a full tank of gas and the other 1/3 in the crankcase.

Aside from the lack of rot, higher trim level, exhaust and long bed, your truck is almost exactly the same as another I know of. 300 straight 6, automatic, refuses to die.

I put the whole 16oz in the gas tank this time. I got some free injector cleaner I should have had last weekend(deal with the new oil) for before the next change. I bet it could use some in the crank case... I'll do it, money permitting.

Also, I'm gonna try to get an exhaust video this weekend. And my mom found her decibel meter, so it's time to see how loud she is
Awesome truck! I've wanted a pick-up myself for some time now. 👍
It's pretty sweet, I love it!

I can only hope mine is the same :D

That's what I've heard, and it's why I bought it when I got directed over there. My pennies are just a little hard to come by :p

Your gas mileage will increase by 10% or more as well when you clean out that intake and use it in your fuel lines. No injector cleaner works as well as Seafoam. RXP comes close, but Seafoam is the bomb.

Oh and SeaFoam in a regular spray bottle does a good job cleaning up oil and grime as well. :D

Sweet. How would I get it into the intake to clean that? I understand the concept, but can't picture it

There should be a vacuum line going from the intake to the throttle body, you simple disconnect the hose from the intake and slowly pour some Seafoam in it while the engine is running. Then shut the engine off and wait a minute or two (or 5?) then turn the engine on and using the throttle cable under the bonnet (hood) rev the **** out of it and watch for all that smoke from the exhaust.

Warning: you might want to not do this in the street unless you are in the country.

Just do it at a friend's place, it'll be ok.

👍

I'll look into that. I'm trying to get my tach working too... I'm stumped because it's not the fuse

New pic too! :D

Alright, here's the deal. I'm looking for a Bullitt-esque type rim for my truck. Like a gloss black 5 spoke with a machined lip in probably 18 inch. I've been searching around, haven't found anything yet, I'm just wondering if you guys have any idea on where I can find something like this? I have a 5x5.5 bolt pattern

5 ton planetaries and 66s!!!!!!!!!!!

err...Nevermind.

Might look at Cragar or American Racing's lineups. They're the originators of that style.

RJ, I like my stockers, but for the future I want the truck to be Vista Blue with Black bullitts and dropped a little bit. It's a 2wd, so I see no point in lifting it.

Jim, I'm checking out those sites

Because you have a truck and without going with 20s you aren't going to find anything with your bolt pattern :p

No I'm finding plenty of things in my bolt pattern, even in normal sizes. The problem is that they're all gaudy and s***. I just want a nice, simple, 5 spoke wheel in a 5x5.5 pattern! And about 18 inches in diameter

I love you, man. That's exactly what I was looking for! The first and last specifically. Now I just need like 1200 bucks for the torque lites

For the love of all that is sacred in the universe do NOT get a set of Torq-Thrust IIs. Go with the torqlites.

You should be able to find them used somewhere, just look around the net and on Craigslist.

I'm from the Mustang world, Torq-Thrusts are amazing to me

I always do, I'm just not always succesful ;)

Fair enough, but please hear me out.

The Torq-Thrust (the original) and the Torq-Thrust D maybe definitely, but pleaseohplease not the lame, beigewashed billet monstrosity. It's your money though. :) IMO, a dull magcoat finish for the spokes would best accent the blue of your truck. (And make it look a lot meaner than straight-up shininess)

The Torq-Thrust II is a slur on its family name. Even the horrid A-R Turbines are ashamed of them. :p
