Jeep straight-6 (at least the 4.2) redlines around 4000 as well.
Redlines at 4000? Kinda low for that 6, I had ours at 6000 once... Although I know a lot of Fords redline at 4k but that seems kinda low...
Redlines at 4000, starts to bend push rods at 4500-5000, don't wanna know what's going on above that. Carbed 6's might be able to rev higher, but not an EFI 300. Completely floored, this thing will shift at 3700 rpm, consistently
I could clear 33s before on just the leveling kit. Just not on stock wheels! I'll be heading to those in my next set of tires. Which judging how these are lasting, will be a while. I've put 30,000 miles on these tires, over 2 years, with a lot of mudding, and they are still over half tread. They amaze me!Personally I would have left the F-150 badge but now you are equal to the F250 height. You'll clear 33x12.5r16.5's all day long with no rubbing. That's what I run on my truck in the summer.
I'm gonna keep the sixxer till it dies (oxymoronAlso, if you do go with 33's, the 300 6 will turn them but you might what to change your gears to 4.10 (if it's not already) and swap in a V8 first or you are looking at 25-30 second 0-60 times. 4.10 gears or 4.56 gears are ideal for 33's. 255ft-lb torque isn't going to cut it.
I think 250s still have a little on me. This is still a 2wd truck so I started a little lower than the 4x4s anywayTBH I still think my F250 sits a bit higher, maybe it's because the 235x85r16 tires on it now for the snow are so damn puny.
1 other thing, you may want to consider adding more leaf springs in the rear now. I believe the F150 has 3-4 in the rear, while the F250 has 6 on each side. Will hold 2 tons or more, beleive me I've done it
Yeah you might want those XDI could clear 33s before on just the leveling kit. Just not on stock wheels! I'll be heading to those in my next set of tires. My tires last quite a while on 33s, I was suprised.
I'm gonna keep the sixxer till it dies (oxymoron) but 3.55s will turn 33s at the same effective ratio as stock with my 3.08s and 235/75s. I want a F250 rear end for the factory 4.10LSD and just to have beefier parts on here, and run 8 lug
Them old 6's NEVER die lol. It will turn them but you'll be lacking severe amounts of torque. I've got the factory D60 4.10 8 lug on mine with a factory DS44 8 lug up front.
I think 250s still have a little on me. This is still a 2wd truck so I started a little lower than the 4x4s anyway
Remember, double the wheels, double the money, double the repairs.
If I get a lift, I'll do that. 250 leaves will raise the back of my truck 5 inches over stock... Until then, I'll stick to my 150 springs. And get new shocks lol because now all 4 are maxed out and were blown to start with
The front will be addressed with new springs. My stock ones are sagging a bit. I've got a 2.5" spacer up there and 2" block under the rear.
Tires are 31x10.50, just with a little stretch due to the 10 inch wide rim
How much more of a lift before you can clear 33x12.5r16.5s? 250 spings and aftermarket shocks up front might work.
What is your suspension up front? IFS with the coil spring around the shock or just leaf springs with a mono shock on each side?
Got 'em. They were the HiLites, the older ones. Get a set of these:

I was saying put the 250 springs in with the spacer, unless you can't. I haven't really worked on those years.
That's 4 to 4.5 inches of lift. Can't do that without drop brackets. 2.5" is pushing it, I can't go any bigger without big expense![]()
