Shame, any idea what it would cost to get it fixed? Is it repairable?

Also I am dying to know where you got those clear headlight lenses. I cannot for the love of god find anything for Bricknose Fords.

Went to the junk yard today, ended up replacing my reflector panel with a black one from a '92-'96 since that's the turn this theme is heading for

Built Ford tough indeed..
That's all I've heard as I drive with no grille

It could be repairable but not worth it, too much time. I'd have to fab up new clips to mount it with. New griile is $40, and I ordered a billet grille for $65. Plan with that is cut the outside chrome ring off the old grille and then slide it over the billet piece to tie it all in better.

On the headlight topic, they're custom, made by me, in my garage. I cut the lenses off the housings, and then had some lexan cut up to fit inside the inner lip of the trim, and sealed them in there. I just found the lenses again last night lol took a pic today

I was going to say, I can't find anything like them that look that good. Much better than the stock ones.

There isn't a single aftermarket for the brick noses sadly :(

I know it sucks. It's weird. The '70s, mid '80s and early '90s all have insane support, but the late '80s have virtually nothing (look wise). Other than that it's pretty much a combination of early '90s and mid '80s.

Work was really slow yesterday, so I started asking my boss if I could run the truck for ***** and giggles... after 2 hours waiting I got my shot lol. Truck did a nice burnout, posi still works perfect, no wheel hop, I was proud :) the rest wasn't much to write home about, but dangit it was fun! First time I've ever taken a 4 wheeled vehicle down, and probably the last time my baby will be down there. What a way to commemorate passing 189,000 miles at the 1/8th mile cone

Ok so my phone didn't feel like uploading properly... the post above this might make a lot more sense... now!

Tired, my ass.

I wish money grew on trees, there's so much I want to do to this truck. 6" front lift, 3" rear (on top of current lift), 20x12s wrapped in 35s, new paint, bumpers, it just goes on!

I'd start witha V8 swap and then do the other stuff. The 300 is a great engine but there isn't a lot of aftermarket and your truck will just get slower and slower. 351W is a great option, bolts right in with very little work, bellhousing should match etc. Carb it and bye bye computer. 35s will turn much easier. If you want ti turn 35s you might want to think about regearing the rear end.

Engine plans are a 351 stroked out to the 390+ CID mark. I wanna get it looking good first. And why yank a motor that's still got plenty of life? :dunno: rear end needs a regear anyway. Can't even turn 33s with the 3.08s

Yeah a 393 is a great engine. You won't be disappointed and yeah true.

Update time. Got myself a full time job as a general service tech at a tire shop around here, so I can finally start having some money to get the ball rolling on fixing up my now 195,000 mile F150.

Had it up on the lift the other day, balanced the tires, which helped a lot 💡 but also found that my passenger ball joint and outer tie rod are both shot. So it's gonna get a front end makeover. Springs/shocks/tie rods/balljoints/wheel bearings.

Then after that comes 4.10 gears in the rear because after I replace my saggy front springs I'll be able to clear 33x12.50 tires

Then comes what I'm really excited for. The body work! I'm gonna throw a new bed on the truck, 2 new front fenders, and have the cab rust repaired, then have it painted Sonic Blue with no side moldings.

And kind of 4 year update... September 25th, 2013 marked the 4 year anniversary of bringing this girl home. 55,000 miles later, I think I love it more than the day I bought it. Can't say much more really lol

Clearing 33x11.50 tires last week on 17x9 wheels with 4.5" backspacing. ****** stance with those wheels, but I like the amount of tire. On my rims 33x12.50 will stick out about 1.5" from my fenders

And my buddy posing next to a real truck, not some governmental motors thing!

Front end reminds a bit of a Peterbilt from this angle

Because you could yank the motor, sell it and use that money toward your 351 and all the other goodies you want for the truck. Better to sell the engine now while it is strong, instead of waiting until the engine is weak. 👍

A lot of it comes from my lack of tools to pull an engine, and the fact my only other transport is a motorcycle. I don't want to be truckless. Plus it could take a good while for a 195,000 mile engine to sell

And even more importantly than all that, I can't afford to drop in another motor. So I'm just riding out what I have. The transmission is going to say it's final words before the motor even thinks about it

You got that right. The Ford I300 6 is one of THE best engines ever made IMO. You could easily get another 100,000 miles or more out of that engine.

I don't think it will be hard to sell. Those motors last till 500,000 miles or more with nothing but an oil change.

But I'd be truckless for a good bit. I'd have to sell this, find a 351, transport a 351, and then get it put in somehow. That's too much time for just my bike.

On the other hand, I have been looking for a parts truck lol

The actual swap itself is fairly straightforward but it depends if your going the EFI route. It should bolt up to your transmission but that's also computer controlled unless you put a see C6 on AOD in (unless you have an AOD already). I'd keep it simply and go carb honestly. Other than that, you'll just need the odd cables and hoses, obviously the engine and mounts (crossmembers are identical), radiator and brackets etc. Just little stuff. I've done this swap once, only difference was it bolted to a C6 and the 300 I6 was using a feedback carb, not EFI. Still computer controlled though.

Your best bet is to save and buy a crate motor if you don't want to build it yourself.

Yeah time sure flies sometimes! I remember back when it was a smalllll truck... with good paint lol

I've also damaged yet another chevy with my back bumper as of last week. Apparently my buddy side swiped (corner swiped?) the driver side corner of the rear bumper at the mudhole. I thought I clipped a dirt wall with it honestly, then he said a few days later he thought he might of hit it. So he's got a slightly dented bedside with black paint transfer... And I have some mud to clean off and plastidip to respray on the back bumper.

I give plastidip my seal of approval. The only times it has ever peeled or chipped on the back bumper has been when a truck has clipped it or full on plowed into it... and on a better note, that's called built Ford tough!
