NICE COOP 👍
your Dads huh ? - when do you get the keys for a test drive ? :sly:
Oh I know when  , when the parents go away for the weekend , just kidding with ya !!! . Would be nice to test drive though.

I like the look of the old new Coopers a lot more than the new new ones. It has to be very fun to drive.

Ditto everyone else: How's the drive?

No, just around the estate.. im not doing handbrakers and stuff ..

edit; there's not a hope i would bring the mini out.. too damn fast compared to the little arosa.

Be that as it may, you're still 14 and as such it's still illegal. Get caught and you'll be done for driving without a licence and driving without insurance, and if the Irish police are anything like the British, they then take your car away and crush it, and the Arosa will seem a lot more little than it does now.

Yes, I am aware of that , but theres a low chance of getting caught because I happen to know there Is only 2 gardai on patrol before 6pm... anyways ive only dont it once and i don't really plan on it in the future ;)...

Anways.. I am keen to know more about the mini s.. is it a turbo and what horsepowerdoes it have?

Hm, seeing as it's a first gen, it's got a supercharger and makes a little less than 200 HP. Or somewhere around 170. Those numbers keep popping into my head. Either way, It's fast as hell and is sure to get a ticket over time.

How so? Just because a car is fast it's sure to get a ticket? Not sure i'd agree with that, just speed 'intelligently' and you'll go far!

Glanza, don't drive illegally, you're risking your motoring 'career' being over before it has even started, as well as endangering others. Not cool!

Meh. I did pretty much all of my learning to drive on a MKV GTI. I had passed my license test with probably 10 hours experience and not much else before getting the VW. I was also very unsure of my driving skills at this point so I had my 16 year old friend with nothing more than a permit showing me the ropes in the GTI.

Either way, It's fast as hell and is sure to get a ticket over time.

Did I mention I've never gotten pulled over for a moving violation, or gotten ticketed for anything? I've had far too many scary moments to count, but I have a totally clean record this far.

Becoming a "good" driver on a sports car is certainly possible, but you just have to be responsible about it.

I have and do drive regularly many very fast cars and never got a ticket in them (except undue noise....), yet my mother drives slow cars and gets more tickets than any of us... It's not the car, but the driver.

The chances of you getting caught are now much higher since you've broadcast it on a public internet forum :dunce:

Oh wah, as if you never drove underage; especially considering the passion for cars most of us have. :p

As long as you're not doing wheelies or barrel rolls as you say you're not, i don't see the problem if you're keeping safe. As if three more years of "maturity" would change your driving habits...

Yeah sure, it's fine to drive on public roads without a license, tax, insurance or any professional driving tutoring...

I also highly doubt Glanza would risk his driving 'career' just to go out for a Sunday drive. I expect he drives around like a complete and utter idiot, as do most joyriders.

I'll give you a brief run down, it's ILLEGAL.

If he crashes into your car, where do you stand? If he hits a pedestrian, where do they stand?

I think you'll find three more years of 'maturity' changes your driving habits substantially, as you will likely learn about driving from a qualified professional on a one-to-one basis.

Arsebiscuits.

I highly doubt that you, at the ripe old age of 14, have a Seat sitting in the garage that's 'yours'. Sorry, but no. Legally it must be in the name of someone old enough to drive, probably your parents (ergo not 'yours' legally to take out and bomb around an estate in without their permission. Assuming you did actually do that, and the legal owners don't give you permission, you're essentially opening yourself up for a TWOC charge should you ever be caught. And a hell of a lot of other charges, for that matter.

But I think it's a load of tripe. In the unlikely event that your parents did buy you your own car 3 years prior to being able to legally drive (and therefore said 'Hey timmy, this will be yours in 3 years), I think it's safe to say they'd probably wouldn't leave the keys in the ignition and the garage door wide open before disappearing for a couple of hours.

As if three more years of "maturity" would change your driving habits...

30+ hours of driving lessons, a theory and a practical test probably would.
