My first car | slow moving project | Big update! :D

Ok everyone, thanks for the comments once again.

I got the rear lip painted by my cousin this morning to match the body, and I think I'll be hitting the front one with a layer of semi gloss black. I've seen pics of cars with the same front lip painted, and I don't really like the look, so the front will be staying black.

Out of 22 pictures though, I only got 2 that I really liked, so these will have to do.

There's somewhat of a before pic in the previous post, at least a side shot, but I can't seem to find a good shot of the rear in my files.

Here goes:

I like how it looks personally. A lot.

EDIT: Yes, I know I have a piece of paint missing from the bumper. I didn't do it.

I also need to get another daytime photoshoot in sometime. Maybe after I repaint the front lip.

I finally got around to painted the front lip, so I drove around for some pics.

All comments welcome!👍

That's all for now. My family is having a bit of trouble with funds right now which means I'll be chipping in with the bills and stuff, so I probably won't be getting anything new for a while until we get things straightened out. Although I will be picking up some snow tires in the near future.

Sharp! really sharp! I think that's a really good stopping point for your project, and you should be proud to own it.

The exterior is pretty much done for now, and I'm going to focus on other things, like upgrading the brakes (the rears are drums right now) stiffening the chassis (the stiff suspension really twists the thing) getting a bit more safety equipment for the interior, and finally the engine. I eventually plan to buy something else to daily so I can tear this thing apart and fix all the rust and crap.

EDIT: I do love my car though! 👍

Well, I didn't mean you shouldn't do anything in the future, just that you seem to have come to a point where other priorities are gonna put things on hold for awhile.

Even though I loathe Hondas, something about your pictures makes me like your Civic. Keep up the good work 👍

Definitely looks better with the lip painted like that, and as usual brilliant photos 👍 I was unsure how the lip would look painted but it works very well.

What do you mean by the fixing rust comment? Looking how clean your car is I can't believe it's got rust anywhere... and I don't know what the weather's like in Virginia but I don't recall seeing many EK Civics in the UK with rust anywhere, and the weather where I live is awful! Do you just mean inevitable chassis and engine bits that gather surface rust?

The car is originally from Canada, which explains my Kph speedo, but when it was up there, it was involved in some sort of flood - flood damage.

The body itself only has a few rusted spots that you can't really see from outside, but every bolt and bracket underneath and in the engine bay is rusted. So much that whenever I do something to the car that involves removing parts, I have to plan ahead and make sure I've got enough time and money to buy new bolts if something were to break.

:0 ooh, nice EK. I'd photograph it if I found on the street for the DYSAGT thread. Enkeis rule.

So, it's been a while, figured I should update some things.

Since my last post, I've obtained the front and rear disk brakes from an Integra GSR. I'll post pics of those when I start buying the pieces I'll need to actually get them on the car.

Other than that I finally got around to purchasing a seat and rails, so here's a few pics of that.

Memory Fab Seat Rails and Memory Fab Carbon Kevlar S68 Seat:

And installed in the car:

I also got a new shift knob, but it's sort of insignificant. It's actually a Hyundai Elantra shift knob, but it's a solid rubber piece and has a nice weighty feel to it, you can see it in the interior pics.

Now all you need is a matching one for the passenger's side. ;)

Still looks sick though.

nah... I think a purist only needs a driver's side racing seat. Otherwise; RICE. And your car is definitely not rice.

Hey, BTW, what size are your tires/rims?

Thanks.

The wheels are 15x7 +35 with 195/55/15 tires on them. Crappy size, I know. Assuming these wheels fit over my brakes that I'll be putting on in the summer, I should be switching to 205/50/15 Falken Azenis or Kumho XS tires.

Ok, so big, kind of unexpected update, but I'm happy with how things turned out.

A picture is worth a thousand words, so I'll let them do the talking.👍
