My first job interview

Well, I applied at party packagers here in mississauga 3 weeks ago and I just got a call from them today, they want me for an interview tomorrow. My friend works there, so Im hoping that maybe I could get a job there, I could really use the money. Ill tell you guys what happens tomorrow after the interview.

Good luck. I was hired at Ruby Tuesday about three months ago and that was the first interview I ever had where I had a call back(previous interviews didn't bother to at least follow up). The pay's not too great but its better than nothing. Plus, they are flexible with my hours.

I keep getting told to 'be yourself'. :)

I have yet to go for my first interview (and i'm 21 years old  ).

Good luck! Be as calm as you can be, sound intelligent, and if they ask if you can do something you don't know, then answer "...but I'm eager to learn!"
👍

yes to all of this stuff, but mostly, wear something professional, and don;t bring up politics, religion, or favorite body type in women.....things tend to get out of hand

My first interview consisted of my then future manager asking "Would you like a job?" followed by a "Sure". I worked there for seven years before I decided it was time to move on.

My piece of advice is when you get the job (think positive 👍 ) don't screw around with your friend too much and end up getting yourselves fired. Other than that I completely agree with the previous posts. Good luck!

:) Just got home from the interview, and it went very well, we ended up just talking about everything for like half an hour, she started talking about her kids and then she started talking about how her son plays guitar, and I told her how I play bass, and yeah it went very well. She told me to come back next tuesday for a seminar because they have some expert coming in to teach everyone how to make real looking wounds and blood. Thanks for everyones advice

Yeah, don't mess with your mate they wouldn't like that. Good luck in the future there, sounds like the interview went well. Quite often a topic not related to the work will be brought up, sometimes it's just idle chat, other times there trying to see how your conversation skills are ect.

What do real-looking fake wounds have to do with Party packages?

Im guessing because they sell lots of halloween supplies, costumes and accesories, having employes learn how to make real loooking wounds for the halloween season would be helpful when showing customers what to do with their costumes.

man I remember my first job interview. I had applied at the local supermarket where a friend worked but they didnt call me I had to call them instead and setup a appointment. later that week I met with the boss and lucky me he could'nt find my application he just told me the rules and stuff and I got the job. I was paid $6.75/hr i think

Didn't want to make a new thread.

Well tomorrow I have a phone interview for a job at IBM. It's my first interview (although I've had jobs before, I don't need an interview to get them) and I'd appreciate any advice from people who have had/given interviews lately.

The interview is for a software QA job. It will be a conference call with the managers of the two groups that are interested in me. What kind of questions will they ask? Am I supposed to know something about their product beforehand?

It most definitely couldn't hurt. And just a warning - conference calls suck. At least that's how I feel about them. Face to face you can read their reactions to your answers.

Just be honest, don't be afraid to tell them you rule. Be friendly. Smile. Don't be apologetic. Wash and shave.

With soap preferably.

Actually, they hired me on the basis of a phone interview, so all I had to do was sit here in my boxers and act professional while I 🤬 myself. ;)

i had an interview last friday for a car maintenance course at city college brighton.

went well, hear from them in a few weeks.
