Hi, I'm back again after some days of hard work with GT4.

3.
Music is incredible, but the songs of Daiki Kasho are really from D.S, this is a mayor let down for the great band D.S!

4.
NOS sucks.

5.
Spoilers are stupid.

This game is still awesome even with the bugs, This is just work in progress and will most likely be more to come with the PS/3, It's still amazing that the PS/2 can do so much, I say PD did a great job and I'm Extreemely happy with GT4! 👍

(((PS. The Nos Doesn't suck and Spoilers are a great Racing accessorie option!!!)))

another thing is

with the same vehicle ur horsepower will jump
sometimes if u just change ur oil ur hp will jump,, and that is when the oils are not dirty, and with only a few short km,, or sometimes just change oil without driving it,, and ur hp will change

That happened in GT3 and is a good thing.

There is a thread that explains it in the GT3 Section I believe.

That is no bug.

BUGS! and letdowns:

1.
Mileage counter doesnt work when you drive a championship in a-spec mode! So if you start a new champ with a car at 0kms, at the end it still has 0kms, in your progress you also cant see your true kms, I'm at 1700kms now! But I've already done more than 8000km by far. So disappointing....

I guess that compromise solution and fix for GT3 'bug'
In GT3 you had to drive those long championships without oilchange and eventually got oilpressure alarm light ON. Everybody knows driving low of oil will damage engine - in long term.

So I personally think that's good thing - for game. Hopefully that works in 24h race too?

So basically, what I gather from this post, is you buy GT to fake being a car enthusiast, however you still know too little about cars to make good judgement, so you say it sucks because you want to fit into a trend that is not associated with a "ricer".

You my friend, no nothing about cars, nor tuning. Enjoy your GT4 though, especially when you're having a much harder time driving your car than us...simply because you want to save face to a bunch of idiots, who along with yourself, know nothing about automobiles.

What a nasty, uncalled for, attack. tha_con you are such a sad GT fanboy it's unreal. All you do is get nasty with anyone that says anything remontely bad about GT series. Get a life idiot.

Good thread, I see a lot of people apreciating GT4. Some like it some don't. It's the way of the world. Free speech, personal preference and all of that.

Cobra, nobody said that you need to have high expectations for GT4 :dunce:

Mate, what does that have to do with my post? Have you actually read my post?

Read it again tha_con was so nasty and derogatory to that guy for no reason whatsoever. tha_con has done the same thing to me on a number of ocassions. That's what my post was about. 💡

If you think i'm talking BS, maybe you can tell me why they have put NOS in GT4 and not in GT3

Same could be said about the "supercharger" now available in GT4. Same could be said about the animated 3D pit crew, and pitting options. What about the new 3D crowd and improved graphics?

Jus because GT4 added in Nitrous and Spoilers, doesn't mean its trying to copy off NFS or NFS2...

Johnhannibal
as for the wings, i'm not questioning the aerodynamical capabilities of it!!! I just think they are UGLY, I dont want to see a big Wing on my 1949 beetle nor NOS, that is my opinion, all you other guys, go ahead, rape the beetle! I will not use it

This might be a hard concept for you to grasp... But if you don't want "NOS" or those big wings on the back of your beetle, THEN DON'T PUT THEM ON.

Johnhannibal
I'm just saying I think NOS sucks, wings are ugly and I dont like Need for Speed cars in Gran Turismo.

So just because you think something is ugly, its automatically a "need for speed car"? What if I think your car is "UGLY", does that make it a need for speed car?

You know what, you stick to your guns. I hope you pull up next to a mustang at a red light one day thats had a 351 swap, and purges his nitrous next to you. Then blows your doors off when the light turns green, and all you can see through the smoke far off in the distance, are his tail lights and "wing". But its ok, because pretending its a need for speed car makes you feel better... And thats all that matters :sly:

Nitrous and Spoilers aren't "ricer" tools, their directly related to preformance. Do you know what neons aren't in GT4? They don't effect preformance... Same goes for body kits, go fast stickers, and everything else we dub "rice". Why would GT4 try and pull in the "need for speed" crowd? Their not gonna top NFS2 with nitrous and spoilers, so no, I don't think they added that in there to pull some of the need for speed crowd over. There are enough of those games out there to keep them happy.

it si very very and highly stupid to argue about wings and NOS. it is an OPTION.
that means, if you don't like it, don't use it, but some will. so shut up now

Actually, neons are in GT4, on a couple of thoes D1GP cars. But thats realism for you since thoes cars have neons on them in real life. However I agree with your post that the wings an NOS arn't ricer tools. If they are than the Formula Palmers are ricer cars becase they have 3 shots of N2O for each race and a wing on the back.

As for someone before saying it's unrealistic for a rear wing to change fron downforce, yes it is. However in GT4 your actually adding a rear wing AND a front wing, the front wing is just hidden, probably because it would be an impossible task making front wings universal fitting like the rear ones.

There's no hidden front wing, When you decrease rear wing downforce it will have a counter effect on front positive downforce resulting in less rear and more front downforce and vice versa!

Ok, my reaction to most of your comments.

NOS does suck, its only added for the NFSU fans, and I know you dont need to use it, the fact its in the game is just gay.

The spoilers are good concidering the fact it improves your downforce and you can adjust it (sorry that I didnt mention it) but the wings are just toooooooo big, in real life those enormous wings cause DRAG not downforce.

Rally is pretty cool, the streetrallys are awesome, tho the iceracing isnt as cool as the rest of the rallying, with DFP rally racing is pretty hard due to the steeringwheel is like a loose monkey then.

I dont like the fact there are F1 cars in it, I didnt like it in GT3, so I dont like it in GT4. They're no GT cars.

Topspeeds when fully tuned and with NOS can go up to 500km/h, thats impossible with a streetcar, the car would be torn apart.

And like someone said that the bug in the mileagecounter isnt a disappointment, well it is, now I cant see my entire progress.

It actually say that you install a front and rear wing. Thoes arn't my own words so if thats what it says then the front wing must be hidden.

Yes it is, you cant see it. Only a big phat surfingboard on the back.

No, thats the strange thing, in the single races, no matter how long, the mileage counts...

Damnit!
NOS & 500 Km/h? That's terrible! 👎
Now I have many reasons not to buy GT4! So, whats your opinion? (I've never played GT3, I'm thinking to buy PS2)
What's better? GT3 or GT4?

Daddybird

Expand upon that please, why does "NOS" suck?

Which street car hit 500km/h?

Well said Cobra_UK. Sorry tha_con, but that was uncalled for, and it's not the first time you've launched that kind of attack at someone on here.

Moving on......

As for the NOS/spoiler debate, that seems to flare up at least once a week on this forum.

NOS - I do blieve that NOS is used in some forms of motorsport, but it's a case that it's always on, and not "activated" NFS stylie by pushing a button. Do you have to press a button in GT4 to use the NOS, or is it always on?

Spoilers - They are used in GT racing, so you should only be allowed to fit them to the GT cars, and not the road cars. Just my opinion.

Daddybird
...I dont like the fact there are F1 cars in it...

Here, here. PD should stick with the GT racing IMO. It's not like there aren't enough F1 games about.

Daddybird - How did you get a copy of the PAL version before the release date?

Cheers, Jamie

N20 does feature in some motorsports, but it's not always on, take the Palmers I mentioned before, they get 3 shots per race to use when they want, by pushing a button.

Daddybird
No, thats the strange thing, in the single races, no matter how long, the mileage counts...

So the mileage counter works in single races, but not championships (consisting of several races)?

If thats true, that ain't too bad although still abit annoying. Does the oil warning light come on still through long championships? or is there a chance to change it? :)

HYBRIDLVR

Do you know this for a fact, as it pertains to GT4? Specifically, one adjustment for back, countering front downforce.

The information I have says otherwise.

When you adjust the Rear Downforce it will make for less front downforce if there's only the rear adjustment, It's also obvious! If you have a car with perfect front downforce and had an adjustable rear Spoiler added to the car, You will be able to ad downforce.to the rear which will push down on the back of the car and taking away some front Downforce at the same time.

Your post has confused people, thats all. What you said there is true, but the fact is that theres a front wing thats hidden.

Then why do you say it's not true if you haven't tried it yet? I'm playing GT4 right now and When I adjust only the rear downforce I have understeer???

I've edited that post, we all thought you meant the adjstment was one bar that was specifically for front/rear downforce in one, in the normal tuning it's not, I haven't tried the quick tune yet.

I don't get why your talking about this though since the origninal point was that when you install a wing your installing a front and rear wing to your car, but the front one is hidden.

Which street car hit 500km/h?

I did 470km/h with a SL65AMG, but if I do some work, I sure can manage 480km/h.
Highest ever done with a tuned streetcar is 409km/h with a 1256hp JUN Supra in real life.

Exactly, I dont even like driving the F1 cars in the GTs, I even avoid F1 games cause there so plain boring.

I have a NTSC version with a NTSC PSTwo.

Still you can hardly call an F1 car and series in GT4 as a bad thing, it's not exactly replacing anything and it's adding diversity.

Besides, the goal of the GT series is to eventually offer all aspects of car racing known.

How much money did you dump into that SL65AMG to get it to do 470?

And can't remember who said that Nitrous is only used in some motorsport events, and when it is its always on is dead wrong. You mean to tell me from the second they start their car/bike/whatever up that its pumping Nitrous into their engine? Any nitrous system has an on/off switch or button of whatever...
