Seattle Circuit - Now I know I've confessed to hating street tracks, but I missed this one when it wasn't in GT3

^?

Anyway, Great review, its even more exciting with the fact that alot of us havn't got the game yet. It sounds even more exciting now.

Very nice writeup, I don't have many issues with tight and twisty tracks though, I like the George 5 track and the Ice arena, although they're better when done in time trials than races I still enjoy the races.

And as for the comment quoted above, Seattle was in GT3. It wasn't in GTC or GT4:P if you meant either of thoes.

Meh, it makes me sick to see people giving out 90% on GT4. When you consider that the average score for Underground 2 was 83.4%.....

GT is better. The AI is lacking yadda, yadda, it's not like it takes away from the fun of the game. Maybe somebody should give it a rating strictly based on "fun".

And why did you say negatives about the engine noises?

Tell me know, since when ever was there a game where the cars sounded realistic. Your expectations are to high...

It sounds like I didn't like you review.. Wrong.

Good job man. 👍

Why are you comparing NFS:U2 to GT4? There two completly different genras.

He gave GT4 Engine noises a bad review because it deserves it. The GT4 sound engine is sup-par to most of the new games. NFS:U2 has very good sounds. Forza has the best sounds I've ever heard from a console game. Just go listen to a Viper on GT4 then Forza and tell me which sounds more realistic?

Listen to the comparo on the GT board...

I can't remember what the thread is called but it has Forza and GT in the title (lol)..

Forza sounds slightly lower, not bassier, but the serious problem is how muffled it sounds. It's terrible.

I'm comparing them because put this into perspective.

Think... Think about Underground 2.. Think about the graphics, the gameplay, the depth, and how cheesy it is. All not to superb....

Now think about GT4 and the essence and just how PHENOMENAL it really is... Don't you think it deserves more than only 7% more?? I sure do.

NFSU2 has the best engine noises on the planet, period. They are absoloutly exceptional, but still, the other racers which came out lately.. weren't any better.......................................

Sorry but I still don't see how you can compare an arcade racer to a sim racer?

And NFSU2 sound's do not compare to Forza sounds, sorry. Forza is vastly superior when it comes to sounds.

Nice review mate, I'm more excited than ever about this now. Roll on the 9th of March. :)

Funnily enough I've already got this pre-ordered and don't even own a PS2 at the moment. I just need to find a good time to break it to the missus that in a few days there'll be a nice shiny PS2 sat next to my Xbox. That'll go down well. :ouch:

In your review you mentioned that fuel now plays a part in the game. Does anybody know if on the longer races you can decide how much fuel you start the race with?

Great review. Very Thorough. Thanks.
I agree with most of what you said, but I have a couple of exceptions.

I think the engines sound MUCH better than GT3.
The Cadillac Cien sounds just as monstrous as it is.
Some cars still sound like lawnmowers, but they're powered with lawnmower engines, so what can you do? ;) :)

I really liked George V, though, too. There are a few really good places to pass. You just have to be patient. At first I liked it better than The Opera, but recently I've started to get the hang of The Opera.

I'm glad you mentioned the changes to Grand Valley. I was really caught off guard on my first lap of that old favorite.

No, not to start the race, but you can choose to add or not to add fuel during pit stops. Another member said that when he hit the 'X' button the crew stopped adding fuel. I haven't had this experience personally.

Great review, thanks a lot! This makes it even harder to wait for the game to be released here in the UK! I've been going back to GT3 and playing from scratch to keep myself busy.. GT4 seems to be quite an improvement. 👍

Cheers!

Bytesector.com will have a review up within the next few days or weeks. It depends on how long the guy takes. This time around, it won't be me reviewing it... but Leo is still pretty good at what he does 👍

NFSU2 has the best engine sounds ever. I've listened to Forza; while the sounds are decent, they are not even close to being as accurate as NFSU2's effects.

I hope the sound guys at PD have a copy of NFSU2 lying around...

Really good review, makes me wanting to buy GT4 even more (yes I know I suck for not already having it, but I've been short in money...) Bad excuse, I'm going straight for it now!
