"Not Yet Dispatched" Delivery estimate 24th November.

I ordered from amazon.co.uk on Nov 12 and I paid extra for the "next day/first class" delivery option.

I am already drafting a polite but sternly worded letter should it not arrive on Wednesday.

Same here, I ordered in October. I e-mailed them to express my concerns and, as I said, they declared they were waiting to recieve the item from their suppliers. They did say they still hope to deliver on the 24th but I'm far from convinced.
 
I ordered mine from Play.com, has anyone who has ordered received it today? I finish work at 3:30 but I have a nearly 2 hour commute home, its gonna feel so long and to think that I fully expect no game to arrive makes it worse :(

I wonder if the ASDA in Stafford will sell the game early (I was born and raised in nearby Rugeley and lived there til 2005 before moving to London)

Its just ASDA sold me a copy of GT4 2 days before it came out, I would honestly get the train up if I knew that was the case :)

Oh so do I (where the company allows it :grumpy: ) but I had this shipped to my home address because I have the 24th / 25th / 26th booked off, so will be at home to receive it if it arrives on Wednesday... :nervous:

Asda wont im fairly sure, but i might be able to check tonight just in case as i need some more food. Good news is i know Discs and Disks near gamestation in the town centre will be selling it tomorrow i emailed them and asked in store to comfirm :)
 
Why do I do this? Every big release I look online to see people getting it before me - mine will come on wednesday thats all I need to know.

Also thinking I should have gone with shop.to instead of amazon - didnt realise shopto price included first class postage. Looks like I have paid £5 extra for two stealth cars (which will probably be available to download for £4.99) and I'll get the game perhaps a day after shopto customers...

I still have a couple hours to order from shop.to instead...
 
So those (like me) waiting for Amazon UK to confirm dispatch:

Has anyone who has ordered the collectors edition had confirmation of it being shipped yet? Or are those with confirmation just receiving standard versions of GT5? Perhaps they are waiting for delivery of the Collectors Edition thus this explains the delay?

I got an "order dispatched" email on Friday (late evening) from play.com. Nothing today I'm afraid :(

Got it sent to my work address, and they're usually very sharp at getting mail around (it's a big university, so gets its own dedicated mail drop from RM).

Some people who ordered standard versions last week have theirs already and they paid nothing for shipping.

Never pay extra for shipping when pre-ordering.

If you pay extra they ship them with a courier rather than Royal Mail 1st class. The couriers are under orders not to deliver until wednesday.

Thats's good news, my collector's edition from Amazon UK is still showing as "Not yet dispatched - Dispatch Estimate: 22 Nov 2010 - 23 Nov 2010"

Hopefully I will get the dispatch email later on today.

Not sure if it was posted on Saturday, or would have been held until today for posting? I never check my e-mail tbh..
 
Special delivery doesn't go courier, it goes Royal Mail recorded. I know this as I upgraded delivery last week for some stuff. Still come with postie, I think the only time couriers get involved is
when it's a larger item. I'm sure that's the way amazon work.

With regards to couriers holding parcels, it don't happen. Worked in the industry for years. especially this time of year, there isn't warehouse space to hold them. They just want to clear the decks.

I have ordered CE with amazon and still showing " not yet despatched " gutted!
