I just got it today! I can't wait until it warms up and I can take it out! What a bargaine! It's a Giant Yukon, 21", and since I got the 2002 model and there are no real differences between the 2002 and 2003, it only cost $330US!

Heh, I thought this would be another thread about someone's new car... instead its a bike. I guess I was partially right. Anyway, thats a nice bike! I wouldn't mind having one like that.

I don't believe you own it. Stick a can, or bottle, or something on the handlebars then take a pic, and I'll believe you.:p Just kidding man, nice bike.👍

Nice! Is it black - it's not 100% clear from the shot.

My two wheeler's a Giant as well, a rather battered old 'Option' I picked up four years ago at a second hand shop. I don't ride it a lot now because of the amount of running training I do - well, that and when you ride on Sydney roads you're taking your life in your hands.

Haha, nice.

I could scrape off the "t" in "Giant", and it'd be my perfect bike.

It's much like my '89 Iguana! But mine has a prettier paintjob with the gold bits.

Too bad the rain(and my riding in the rain + not moving the seat post in the years I rode the bike) fused the seatpost to the frame...it's totally useless now. I'll have to see if my dad can drill it out or heat the frame up and get it out. It's an excellent bike. I've actually had less problems with it than with my new(er, it's a new stock 1998) Raleigh M7000 full suspension(the rear suspension is a pain in the butt. It squeaks, it creaks, it grinds, it even locks up sometimes over bigger bumps, and I just took it to the shop last week and it's still doing all of this after my dad lubed it and they worked on it, hopefully though I'll buy an air shock off of a newer bike to replace the enclosed spring on it now...).

And when I was at the bike shop, I sat on a new Giant full suspension with the air shocks and it's too cool. Too expensive too, but my Raleigh seems to be a bad $450 bike... It's not totally bad, it's just not as good as it should be...

What are those Rock Shox? I have Rock Shox Indy S on my Iguana, and Rock Shox base model on my Raleigh(I should switch them, the Indy S are a lot better, but I don't think they are interchangable...).

Stop bragging about your §=/! paint job! Well, the shocks are RockShocks Judy TT. Then all the components are Shimano, I think. There might be one or two that aren't, but hey, 1 year warenty on the components, lifetime warenty on the frame, pretty good warenties. I really like the seat, it's one of those ones that will allow me to have children when I'm 30(15 years, nearly 14 years from now.) I'm sorry to hear about your seat post being rusted to your frame, not much you can really do about that I'd imagine. The only thing I can see done is cutting the tube where the seat post enters, then somehow get a new clamp or something to make sure your newer seatposts don't just slide all the way down. But there's no telling how far the rust is, unless your tube is only a sliver in or so, but it doesn't sound like that. If you want some really good advice, bro, go to http://www.bikemag.com then register, post your question in the message boards, and check back within one day. SoulRider knows what he's talking about, so you might want to post your question in his folder.

Oh, and the rain stopped, but somewhere around 5:00 yesterday(well, um, 1700 hrs I guess), the rain changed to snow, so now we still have snow...... again. It's about 33°F outside, maybe if I put some windpants over some other pants, then put on a jacket, I can go biking.... But I'd still need gloves because DAMN your hands get cold fast when biking without gloves. I went biking one morning when it was 50° out, other than the fact that I busted my chain, my hands were freezing, even with those "magic gloves" on.....

Judys are better than Indys, but when we got them for my bike, I was supposed to get this crappy RXS something, they ordered the wrong size, and I got the Indys.

I really like the ones they have on the $2,000 bikes, with the adjustable ride hight, dampers, and all of that. They mush cost like $700.

And my seat post...it's aluminum, no rust, I think it just fused with the alloy frame. My fault... I think that if my dad smooths it out(for a day, we were beating at it trying to get it out, turning it with a pipe wrench(just losened then broke off the seat mount), trying to hammer it down, even trying to cut all the way down the inside, to no avail and my dad got cut, and my bike is seatless(and, the fool I am, I tried to ride it without a seat, just standing up, on my driveway...I got carried away, started going over the curb and ramping, and landed, how do I say this, 1 upper back of the thigh on the jagged part left of the seat post. I was wearing jeans, but the damage was done :( ) on the inside, that we could buy a smaller diameter seat post, and fit it inside of the one in there. It's worth a shot...

Ohh, and you haven't lived till you totally break a chain trying to peel out on a bike at a classic car show...chain flew within inches of some old Cameros and Firebirds...then I had to "coast"/walk it about a mile and a half home, up several hills.

It's fun peeling out on bikes though. I do it all the time.

heh, i love my old Holyoke (city in mass, usa) police bike i got for $0.00(us). It needs a few minor adjustments and maybe some new brakes down the road but its really a decent 21 speed bike. It came with lights, a cool pack in the back, & front shocks, But it didn't come with a seat so my dad bought me a nice new seat + seat post (none of the 100's of seat posts i had would fit right).

Also i took it out for the first time this year yesterday and i was amazed by how much a fell out of shape. I usta fly down the streets in my highest gear, but now it more like 3-5 gear (out of 7) so now im working to get back into shape.

I got a Haro SR 2.0 and Im trying to find a carbon Fiber or a Red/ with silver paint job to mine ( It seems I can't find a paint shop for bikes near my house ). But anyway, your bike is in better condition( Screw the spelling ) than mine.

I'm amazed by how much I'M out of shape as well. That, and the highest gears on my Yukon are much more powerful(meaning, I have to use more pressure, but they go much faster) than the highest gears on my Ridgeback Falcon.

Oh, and today my brother and I were trying to see who could do wheelies the best/longest. Needless to be very graphic, if you try pulling back too much, your second pair of cheecks can be sore after not too long....

My Iguana is faster than my Raleigh...I think I lose power through the rear suspension and the Raleigh is lighter so it's not as fast down hills. Easier up hill though, and smoother down hills.(the highspeed hill near my house is assfault at the top, then shotty concrete right at the bottom, and some big bumps, and the Raleigh's suspension soaks it up pretty well)

I rode like 2 days ago up to my elementary school(3 blocks from here), and I was actually riding like I've been riding all winter.

And Rjensen, I posted in that guy's forum, no reply yet though...
