Ahhh yes I did change my audio setup to 2 channel. All the other cars sound just fine though. It seems to be isolated to this car and on all views too. Can just barely make out an engine note from the cockpit.

do u get an engine sound when you start it?

if yes, the engine is not as loud as the stupid tranny whine

Are you sure the "tranny" sound is not the engine, the Zonda is very distinctive, sounds almost like an F1 car, much different than any other car.

How can you change the audio from 2 channel to something else? That option is unselectable for me, although I have a viera linked 5.1 system.

I was noticing something similar with my Ferraris last night - both the California and Enzo have such quiet engines that I can't hear them until I'm far away from all the other cars. Makes changing gears a real b**** since you have to watch the tach all the time and can't go by the engine noise at all.

same, I have my audio setup to 2ch, but driving bumper on my enzo i can't hear a thing (i'm assuming because the engine is behind me?)

Unless you have tuned your enzo to be faster than the speed of sound, this is a bit weird. You should hear its sound from the bumper too.

Add the 458 Italia to it, I have 5 channel sound through an LG sound setup. It sounds so soft. The only time it sounds right is when Im in the chase cam view.

LOL that is an awesome statement. Made my morning thanks.

And back on topic. I got 5.1 surround sub and all and while the engine noises are off they are audible to me, even turned them down a tad so i could hear my custom music while driving since the engine was overpowering the music to the point i could barely hear the music.

The Zonda sounds like crap if you mod it. Leave it standard. Once you add engine level 3 or turbo it just sounds like a turbine engine.

If you have done the engine level 3, then you can't undo it though.

I can't remember which license it was - the S license at Monza in a ferarri - in bumper view you can't hear your own car over the saleen and I was all over the rev limiter coming out of the first chicane. Engine sound from bumper view is terrible. Screw realism - i know the motor is behind me - I want to hear the damn thing.

Since GT3 I think, when you mod the engines 'too much' the cars start to sound samey. I remember my R34 GTR V-Spec and my Lotus Esprit sounding the same when heavily modded..the same kind of sound my C63 AMG is making in GT5 when fully modded. I think stage 3 exhaust and stage 3 engine tuning does that.

Exactly, I want to hear the sound you get from the behind car view in all the views.

Finally someone that feels my pain. the cars only sound good in chase mode and i cant drive good from that view and bumpber view sounds like a vacuum and interior view sounds too windy and the stupid top view sucks

Seems to be a glitch. My XJ13 sounded fine until I upgraded it and now the engine sound is gone and you just hear the transmission.

while it is quick, it isn't that fast, however I can assure you that the engine is basically silent

you can hear the lower rpm range but up higher it just goes quiet

PS3 HDMI sound is set to 2ch, and in GT5 set to 2ch stereo

It is a bug once you do Stage 3 engine tuning. Sometimes it works sometimes not. Same thing with Lexus IS-F racing concept once you mod it.

Same problem. Fully tuned zonda r, makes no engine sound in any view at all, even on replays and b spec. Really sucks because this is one of my favorite cars but I am having trouble knowing when to shift and getting distracted watching the tach.

I find that when racing and in a pack I can't hear my car, regardless of what it is!! I find it hard to hear when to change up as I don't look at the rev limiter.

Only when i'm in third person rear car view, but even then its swamped by everything else!!

Its a bug. Nothing to do with audio settings or engine sounds.

Needs reporting somehow, with a list of cars it happens to.

I first noticed it on the Zonda.

EDIT: It's possible this has something to do with ONLY having the option of adding the titanium exh. Bob is driving mine at the moment, so shall check when he has done. Just wondering if this has anythng in common with the other cars this happens to.
