How many "versions" are there of Nürburgring, which one is the official?
The 4 hour endurance one is not the same when going to Arcade mode.
Confused...

there are nordschleife thats the real 24 km course...

then the 24hr layout (with some of the grand prix course)

and near the same as 24hr layout(other sector from the grand prix course)

so 4-6 if the GP track counts...

(PS3 is off so cant check at the moment)

GP track F
GP track D
Nordschleife
24hour ( nordschleife and GP track F combined )
Type V ( nordschleife and GP track D combined )
Nordschleife ( time and weather change )
24hour ( time and weather change )

think you have to compleat the AMG challenge to get the tracks in arcade mode.

4hour enduro is type V track

yep gtr 07 with sports hard tyres on Nordschleife

Forgot about this thread.
So just for confirmation.
When running the 24H you are running ALL of Nordschleife AND GP track F?
Is there a special reason for this?

not the whole GP track

the reason.. dont know but the F1 is on the GP track... too "dangerous" wich such fast cars.

its like daytona, daytona got many different tracklayouts

why? dont know its stupid to watch 20x cars driving circles ?

Correct. And I think the reason to also have GP-Strecke included is to cover even more distance, which tests a car & driver's endurance & performance even further. Or something like that.

There's actually several:

1) With something like 200 cars on the track, the longer the better.

2) The Nordschleife doesn't really have pits. So you have to go around the GP/D course at least which is done in the Type V-layout.

3) The GP course offers grand-stands for spectators.

4) The GP course offers the possibility to go back into the pits after an installation lap of 2 minutes instead of having to drive around the whole circuit just to check, if something is working. (not in GT5, but in reality) This is heavily used in practice sessions, but you actually can come into the pits also in the 24 hour race when something happens on the GP part of the track. In that case the lap you've already begun doesn't count though obviously.

On the 24h layout you are not running the complete GP track. The Mercedes Arena (designed by the "famous" Mr. Hermann Tilke) is left out and you are running the old GP layout (before Mr. Tilke ruined it). In addition, the chikane before the Coca-Cola Curve is also the old, smoother version (Veedol S was its old name).

And as before mentioned, during the 24h - race there are more than 200 cars on track, which are started in three groops with a distance of 2 minutes in between them, to allow more space on the track.

I believe the 24h race in real use the new GP circuit because the stand on the old track are junk and wouldnt be able to manage all the cars you got.

The Nordschleife track is the one you'll lap if you go there and pay 5 euro. Except the last long straight which is closed.

Any official race tho is taking place on Nordscheife + GP track combined. At least all those I saw.

If I would have the car it would "only" be 5 euros to go around one time?
That would be SO awesome.

Sorry to disappoint you guys, but it's quite a bit more. 24 € for one lap. Gets cheaper if you buy a multi-lap pass.

Shoot. I once ran into a website that had maps of all the different configurations of the Nurburgring, but I don't know where it was. There were actually quite a few possible layouts.

There was a version of the track based on the 1960's races there in the game Grand Prix Legends. Right before you turn right and start up over the rise and then down and to the left that is the start/finish of the Nordschliffe there was a continued straight taht went past the pits (of the day) and the took a left turn out into a wide right hander and then down the back side of where the pits were. Then it re-entered the start/finsh area we are currently using.

Here's a good website for more information and some great video footage.
