Sounds like something from Star Trek...probably a sci-fi movie for sure, I think. But I can't recognize it...

I see where you're coming from. Part of the Star Trek VI soundtrack is really close to this. That's not a bad guess but it isn't Star Trek.
 
I'm gonna guess James Bond The Living Daylights...if I'm right, it's because for some reason the lyrics popped up when I went to play the track. In that case, I don't think I really guessed fair, so feel free to post another tune if I was right on this one!!
 
Anderton might be right, but I'd have no clue. It does sound a little James Bondy but I don't recognize it.
 
Yeah for some reason when I played it in Winamp, this little window poppwed up with the lyrics, and they were being highlighted as the song progressed in a "sing-along" sort of style...and the lyrics went something like I'm at my wit's end, driving to the end of the Living Daylights or something like that...

I don't feel right winning like that, plus I have to go look for more clips on the web and it's 2:45am and I am depressed watching the Canadians getting trounced day after day in the Olympics...13 days and only 8 medals, sheesh! Oh well, everyone still loves Canada, and we all still love you!

Prominently featured in 2001 Space Odyssey (and it's part of that movie's soundtrack so it counts :) )

Next. This one was featured heavily as background music at the last academy awards (but that really won't help you figure it out).

Oh dude. I LOVE that song. Took me forever to find out what movie it was from, and when I found it I was like WOOT! It's the theme from dragonheart, and because I'm a loser, I'm not gonna post another midi :( You can do another one danoff. But good choice, I bet most people didnt know it :O
 
It's from Broken Arrow, but similar music can be heard as "Dickie's Theme" from Scream.

But alas, I don't have any songs to post so anyone feel free to post another and I'll try to get some more for next time!
 
Victor, try another tune maybe? Or give is a hint? Or someone else can take the helm again? Danoff? Famine, I thought you said you were gonna participate by posting some of your own tunes a week or two ago. Let's have 'em!
 
That song was so terrrible, well, how it was played was terrible. I think it could be "Pappa Don't Preach" by Madonna, or perhaps another one her songs, but I'm not sure. I have no idea what movies she's been in, and I don't care.
 
Sorry I'm late. It's a song by Move called Gamble Rumble and it was featured in the Third Stage intro. That was the only MIDI I could find and really don't reflect too well on the actual song. Sorry it was too tough :D
