The Mixing Bowl.

The first time in ages I've thought a new series of corners has caught my eye.

"Juan's Folley."

"Cojones Bend."

"Turkish Delight"

Hmmmmm, I dunno about that to be honest... just imagine the headlines...

"Montoya Loses It Coming Into Raikkonen"

oh dear... :sly:

'sif that would confuse you.

I've got an idea, how everyone remembers it, call it Turn 8! :D

Blake

Omnis
"Turkish Delight"

Yes! Cheesy but fitting....

I like 4x too. Reminds me of some of Suzuka's corners. Suzuka is also a mish-mash of racing circuits like Turkey is.

It was designed by John Hugenholtz in 1961.

If audi sponsered the circuit, they could perhaps call it "Quattro bend" or something.

and here are some more random names... (I still like turkish delight. :D hahaha.)

"the Ottoman."

"The Janissary."

"Thanksgiving Dinner."

"4 Kings."

I wonder if it's a bit too late for a name now. Whatever it gets called, it'll always be known to the F1 faithful as Turn 8, in the same way that no-one would call the final corner at Indianapolis anything other that Turn 13 (particularly after this year), regardless of any new name given to it.

Anyone who saw the Turkish Grand Prix will automatically think of the Turn 8 at Istanbul - not the Turn 8 at the Hungaroring, or the 90 degree left at Indy, or anywhere else with a Turn 8. Leave it as it is.

hahaha. yeah, whut-evah.

I really don't know what they'd call it though. perhaps they'd name it the Raikkonen after he retired or something.

I still think The Janissary or Turkish Delight would be mondo-cool.

Edit: Roo beat me. Yeah, come to think of it...Turn 8 would be fine as it were.

Mclaren_Man
or they could name it after the first ever winner of the grand prix...

Yea its a good idea but he just won the race, thats not special enough to have a bend named after you. Maybe if he span on turn 8 in qualifing and in the race and was still able to win, that would be worth it. Just an example though, but you know what i mean right?

I think a fitting name would be "Intimidator". But seeing as the track is in Istanbul it will probably be called something like Sogukkanli Egri.

That would be uber-impressive
