Nothing will beat how patriotic Kyle Busch's paint scheme was last year at Richmond

Except the original.

For those wondering, this scheme is a part of the Nascar Unites program, various drivers will be running patriotic schemes.

Links to avoid slowdowns.

Thanks for the links. 👍 I must say , I'm really liking Biffle, Truex and Danica's liverys.

I don't know about you, but part of me is a bit more excited about the Trucks at Rockingham on Sunday (Rockingham in North Caorlina; not the Rockingham in England) than Nationwide and Cup at Texas. I want to eventually see Nationwide and Cup race at Rockingham again. As per usual, Texas will be quite the battleground. Always nice to see big time racing in my home state of Texas on a great course like the Texas Motor Speedway.

I'd like to see Rockingham get used for the 3 series again as well. Could easily put it into the chase schedule replacing Kansas.

Of course, "easily" isn't so easy since there are contracts and such involved in it. Not to mention Kansas fought to get a second race on the schedule.

And I'd like to see more road courses. But that won't happen will it?

Nope. More road courses would be great, but they lack seating and that's why NASCAR has transitioned to running on tracks that hold nearly 100,000 or more spectators even though they don't sell them out completely.

NASCAR would still run the oval instead.

Sadly, you're right.

Wouldn't it be neat though, if a track had two races and an infield road course, the second race could be on the road course. Of course, there would always be a couple exceptions. (Daytona)

IROC did it at Daytona. Raced the infield in July.

Daytona, Talladega, Charlotte, Vegas, Fontana, New Hampshire, Pocono all have road courses in the infield. There might be a few others.

Homestead does but they only race there for the finale.

Really, it's quite tragic, that is my situation with NASCAR. I used to love it. Then came my PS3, and GRiD, F1 2011, GT5 (not the only games, but the ones that playrd the biggest part in this) and GTPlanet. I have been exposed to things like F1, V8 supercars, DTM, and other such series that also turn right. I certainly am not the biggest fan of these series yet, because I've only fairly recently been exposed and have really cared. So now, NASCAR really kind of bores me. It's quite sad right?

Here's all the ones I can think of that host one of the big 3 series:

Atlanta
Charlotte
Daytona
Homestead
Indianapolis
Iowa
Kansas (to be built)
Las Vegas
Michigan (road course not used since 1984, but repaved before 2012 season)
New Hampshire
Phoenix
Pocono
Rockingham
Talladega (not used since 1983, still exists)
Texas

One thing I've realized about the Chase for the Cup schedule is that it's a real nationwide deal. Think about all the represented regions featured in the Chase- Southeast, New England, Midwest, Southwest, West Coast... that's why I think some of the tracks are featured in the chase. It's not so much the toughest tracks featured late in the year, but more like some of the finer tracks around the nation to represent the Chase. At least... that's how I see the track selection for the Chase.

Another thing I prescribe to as to why there aren't more road courses in the Chase is because road racing isn't "racing" to most fans. Stock cars CAN go left and right. I personally love seeing stock cars go left and right. I even enjoy hearing gears getting hammered at speed on road courses. But... not a lot of people love NASCAR road racing enough to where it becomes a regular deal.

Hell, if it were up to me (and if you look at it from a regions perspective), I'd replace Kansas with Heartland Park Topeka (NASCAR Trucks used to race there), try to figure in Portland International Raceway for Pacific Northwest representation (badly needed to even out the variety of venues around the country), and maybe even replace Homestead with Sebring.

Weather Underground is reporting that there could be a slight chance of rain for the Cup race at Texas. It also notes that it should be sunny for the Trucks race at Rockingham on Sunday.

...and maybe even replace Homestead with Sebring.

No, just no. I agree that there should be at least one more road course but why replace the last race with a road course?

It doesn't really help that the races have also had alot less racing and alot more cautions then in the past.

One problem with that: Lighting. Other then the front stretch and maybe one or two corners, Sebring has next to no lighting (at least last I looked).

Dave Blaney has "Jimmie Johnson's Anything with an Engine" as his sponsor. Not only is it weird that his car has another driver's name on it, but what makes it worse is that it sounds like something you would find in a video game bargain bin at Kmart.

Trevor Bayne 'wins' practice. I'm dead serious.
