Well I actually did fall asleep (late night here), but the highlights looked good. Maybe (really asking here, and may be a stupid question) what this track needs is a shorter race to spice things up?

I wonder if HMS will let Gordon retain his current DuPont paint scheme for next season or just revert back to the Badass firestorm paint scheme.

Sounds like Roush is still trying to find a sponsor for the 6 car and will try to get it on the track again this season.

Really hope he finds some as I would like to see Ricky more in the Cup series.

This is all well and good, but with the 6 and 60 cars in Nationwide barely sponsored and the #17 in Sprint Cup struggling for sponsors... why on earth is his focus to be on trying to renew the #6 cup team?

He needs to get a sponsor program together in Nationwide and for Kenseth first, then focus on getting Stenhouse into the Sprint Cup. I suspect that he wants Stenhouse in Cup before another team poaches him away, but you've got a past Champion and regular race-winner running just above fumes as well as a past cup winner and headline-grabbing young-gun running a partial season in Nationwide (Bayne).

Roush needs to start finding new ways to attract sponsors so they can see the value in his experienced team. He needs to go above and beyond the appearances, commercials, and just plain good racing because it's not working anymore. Why are there smaller teams with full sponsorship when race-winning programs go blank?

Absolutely nothing to do with the racing, but I had to post this:

Snaeper

I think the race winning programs want their sponsors to pay much more money then a smaller team

I think whats happening is the bigger teams have far greater sponsorship demands and expect more in return, whereas the smaller teams are not as demanding and it tends to work better for sponsors.

That or its basically as a friend of mine said: The old Sponsorship model is broken.

Top Gear (UK) will have a NASCAR themed show April 30

http://www.nascar.com/news/120417/top-gear-nascar-show-bbc-america/index.html

BBC America @ Monday, 8:30 pm est April 30

Top Gear UK having a NASCAR themed episode before Top Gear US? Madness!!!

Also Travis Pastrana has locked himself into his Nationwide debut by taking the seat of Kenny Wallace. Theres only outrage when Danica does something like that

I don't about you but if the asshats of NASCAR.com are anything to go by, ANYONE with a big name Outside of NASCAR and taking someone elses seat is instant outrage, just so happens to be more in your face when it comes to Danica.

Was there already a different Nascar Top Gear because I already saw the one with Richard Hammond?

It was probably the same(Season 18, episode 2), it is just finally airing here on BBC America though.

Kenny Wallace's Nationwide ride has no sponsor, but is in the top 30 in owners points. Travis Pastrana has a sponsor. So, it just works out for the team and the driver.

I don't see an issue with it.

It will probably work out well for the team as a whole, just having Travis associated with the car will likely assist Kenny with the sponsor problems.

Regardless of how Travis runs in it, his name alone "sells".

Basically, people keep harping on and on about how "stupid big name drivers taking seats from up and coming talent" yet repeatidly forget what you mentioned: he has a sponsor.

Johnson will be running a turd green Chevrolet this week at the STP 400 as a tribute to the American muscle car!

Thats it? Thats the "Turd Green" car being reffered to? Apparently, we don't share the same definition of "turd" because to me its not bad.

How is that a tribute to muscle cars?

At least it looks better than the '57 Chevy schemes from a few years ago.:yuck:

He's going to have other colors at other races in "tribute" as well.

But, when I think American Muscle Car, I think bright, flashy "look at me" colors.

That's definitely not a "look at me" color.

What in the hell was Chevy thinking then?

Well it's not a pretty color, and It doesn't scream "Hey look at me, Dammit!"

We will see what the Toyota looks like on the 22nd. Not really expecting anything great judging from the camo shots from earlier this year.

Jayski.com
Toyota to unveil 2013 Camry: On May 22 at TRD (Toyota Racing Development) U.S.A. in Salisbury, N.C., reporters will get their first look at the new Camry to be raced by Toyota teams in 2013. Ford and Dodge already have revealed their 2013 Fusion and Charger, respectively. Chevrolet has yet to schedule the unveiling of its 2013 race car.

And Petty hasn't ruled out Dodge's for 2013.

Jayski.com
Petty not ruling out return to Dodge: Richard Petty Motorsports is trying to negotiate a deal to stay with Ford and retain its relationship with Roush Fenway Racing. But team namesake Richard Petty isn't totally ruling out a return to Dodge, the manufacturer with which he became a racing icon as a driver. "Right now, we've got our sponsors pretty much lined up for next year,'' Petty said Friday at Kansas Speedway. "Where we go with the cars and engines and things like that ... we've got a plan, but I don't know if anybody is going to go along with it.'' Roush Fenway president Steve Newmark is optimistic his organization can continue supplying Ford engines and chassis for RPM. "We have thoroughly enjoyed working with Richard Petty and his entire team, as it is a first-class organization,'' Newmark said. "We believe it has been a mutually beneficial relationship and sincerely hope to be able to continue the partnership into the future."
Dodge has been looking for an anchor organization since Penske Racing announced it would move to Ford in 2013. Because of Petty's past association with Dodge, RPM is among several organizations speculated to be a target for Dodge. "Right now, they are pretty confused,'' Petty said of Dodge. "They got a plug pulled out of them and wasn't really expecting it. ... We'll consider going anywhere to make a living out of this. Right now, we're still up with the Ford deal and we're going everything we can to win races with them.''

Turn them trucks loose! We got NASCAR Trucks coming up at Kansas Speedway. Best of luck to all teams and drivers competing in all of NASCAR's many classes of competition this weekend.

Probably not (don't really know enough about Muscle cars colors to really say much), but that is nowhere near "Turd" Status to me. This is a turd
