Looks like NASCAR Trucks will be at Charlotte this Friday night, Nationwide will be at Iowa Speedway to race this Sunday, and NASCAR Cup will have its All-Star Race on Saturday. So all three series will be in action this weekend. I extend my best wishes and good luck to all teams and drivers this weekend. Put on a great show!

Here are a few different news tidbits I came across from NASCAR on Yahoo! Sports:

Yep. Kurt Busch is now $50K light for reckless driving on pit road during the Cup race at Darlington. Along with being fined 50 large, he's on probation from now until July 25. Here's the caption posted to this story on Yahoo! Sports:

"The devil inside"

"This was to be the season for Kurt Busch to repair his sour reputation. But after another blow-up, will he ever land a top-tier ride?"

Pretty cool to be a Busch brother, eh?

Honestly... I've always loved Danica Patrick. Just as much as there are those who'll hate any musician like Adele, Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga, or whoever... there will be for whatever reason Danica haters. I'm with Danica all the way through her racing career because I think she's talented. I actually do think she WILL win in NASCAR. Doesn't matter if it's by less than a hundredth or by a country mile- Danica WILL win in NASCAR in my view. I've believed in her even when she was in Toyota Atlantic and even since she was an IndyCar Series rookie.

That's all. Have a great day or night!

Definitely not a dream. It should be announced later today.

Also, while watching NASCAR Now on ESPN2 yesterday, they were discussing the Newman/Busch incident this passed weekend at Darlington and mentioned that both drivers could be competing for the #39 seat. If that wasn't the most absurd comment I had heard in a while.... and I don't even know why that was even brought up since Stewart is wanting to get a new contract worked out for Newman.

I mean, that even tops the Busch to Furniture Row rumors in complete ridiculousness.

If I was in charge of the Toyota Nationwide Operation concerning its car, I'd label all of the Nationwide Toyotas, Priuses.

How brilliant would it be to see headlines of 'Prius beats Mustang and Challenger.'

Indycar team owner Michael Andretti may start a new NASCAR team with Dodge cars and Ryan Newman and Kurt Busch as drivers

http://nascar.speedtv.com/article/cup-sources-michael-andretti-could-join-dodge-lineup/

Is it just me or has media in general gotten worse over the last year or so? They are supposed to report news, not make it up.

[/rant]

As for Andretti, he has been planning on getting into NASCAR since 2010 so it could happen. However I don't see this being any more plausible than any of the other "not really based on anything" types of articles that have been so rampant as of late.

Well if this is true, why in the hell would Ryan Newman want to leave Hass? He's in the best equipment he's ever been in, in his career? Maybe he misses driving a Dodge?

Isn't Danica suppose to drive for Stewart next year?

Stewart probably doesnt want to run 3 cars, leaving Newman out.

I really hope Michael Andretti comes to NASCAR, it will be great watching him on top the pit box at Daytona and other NASCAR races, like a Roger Penske

I'll reserve judgment on the SS until I see it without the camo.

Side Note: The commentators are rather annoying for the pit crew challenge.:yuck:

What is with Kurt Busch and Ryan Newman getting pulled into various rumors all of a sudden?

Edit: I was going to attempt to photoshop the camo'd car, but that pattern is really throwing off the lines, so they did their job well. All I notice is the details made visible by shadows, otherwise I can't tell where the lines are at.

They are the two best drivers without a contract for next year, Newman has become more of a possibility of late with the possibility of losing the Army sponsorship(Jr. may lose the National Guard as well).

I think Jr should still be ok as long as AMP doesn't leave.

Also, what would make the Army and the National Guard pull their sponsorship?

There's an amendment to a military bill that, if passed, would prevent military sponsorship of any amateur or professional sport or sports entertainment.

And there goes the engine in the 78.

Really? That sort of strikes me as odd, but I'm guessing either the government no longer sees a point (or never did and only tolerated it for so long) in sponsorship of sporting events, or the people themselves have something against it. Just is interesting that there's actually an amendment that could basically remove all sponsorship from Military branches of service.

It's more just a couple reps. that seem to have a mission as the same person sponsored last years effort, which was easily defeated(281-141). That doesn't mean this one will fail as well though.
