I haven't/couldn't see the race except for a 1min YouTube clip of the crash. What I saw was that Papis pushed JV into the grass which upset his rhythm and then he had no where to go except into Danica. Of course JV is going to be made out as the bad guy just because it's DANICA.

Living outside America I don't get why she's such a big deal. Sure she's a woman driver and I have nothing against that. I just don't get the saturation about Danica I see during those 3 Sprint Cup races she's driven in so far. I think that just because you're a woman doesn't mean you get special treatment, although I'm not denying she has talent.

ABC/ESPN have been shoving her down our throats ever since her very first Indy 500. It's been worse ever since godaddy became her sponsor and she did Super Bowl commercials.

Shut up, Rusty.

Yeah I thought he was too tough on Villeneuve. If it wasn't Danica I dont think he would have got as upset.

I can't believe Nelson Piquet Jr was as fast as he was. You never know which of these road course specialists will take a liking to road racing stock cars, but it appears they fit Piquet Jr like a glove.

And I kinda of see why they call Road America the American Nurburgring. Very green and some elevation changes. A track that definitely needs to be in Gran Turismo 6. But in the end there is no track in the world like the Nurburgring

Looking forward to Jeff Gordon vs Marcos Ambrose tomorrow. The old king of the road vs the new king of the road. Its going to be a good one!

You know what? Congratulations to Mr. Nelson Piquet Jr. I've been wanting for him to emerge in Trucks. However, a Nationwide win on one of America's finest road courses is just as sweet. Cheers to you, mate! Hope you can win many more races.

I hated that Wisconsin-born Danica Patrick got spun out late in the race. I did not see any action at Road America because I was out and about.

So up next for the weekend is Cup at Sears Point. Hope the Cup drivers can put on a great show over in Sonoma, CA.

Nelson's been full-time in the Trucks for the last couple of years, so he's gotten used to the big, heavy stock cars. And of course he has F1 experience so he knows his way around a proper road course. Not bad for his first time in Nationwide.

Nice win for Piquett, commentators overreacted a bit to Jaques spinning Danica though.. :yuck: Would have liked to see Ron Fellows get the win though..

I must be in the minority, then. Scares me every time a track worker runs out on track.

Well if all cars are on the other side of the track, no harm in someone jumping the wall and grabbing the debris. Radio communications ftw.

100% agree, attended the race yesterday and I can confirm that the crowd had the same sentiment, especially considering this is Road America, and you can't even hear the cars when they are on the other side of the track. It was the same sort of situation in Grand-Am when the Porsche blew its engine in turn 12 (where I was sitting), which in ALMS would have been a local yellow but here was full course.

Great races though, first NASCAR race I have been to after a two decades+ of watching indycars, sportcars, and sports car club racing at Road America. Great to see a field of 43 cars on track and I like the looks of the Nationwide cars, especially the Challenger. Too bad they don't go to the Milwaukee Mile this year.

It's hard to believe Jimmie and Junior Johnson are not related...their eyebrow's are so bushy! lol

Why do the guys who say "Gentlemen, start your engines!" have to make the quote sound cheesy?

I'm watching the Save Mart 300 right now. It still amazes me how these stock cars and stock car drivers can go left and right and racing on tracks like Sears Point and Watkins Glen. Some people may probably miss Riverside International Raceway and when NASCAR used to race on that road course.

Enjoy the race!

Gordon in the lead. Go Jeff!

EDIT: Pointlessly long commercial break...

Great, now Clint Bowyer is going to outrun Jeff Gordon. Not good for Jeff unless he can pick it up again.

Now I am hearing that JG's tires are wearing out fast. Come on, can he catch at least one more break? Kyle Busch is chasing him like a pit bull.

Kurt Busch with the bump-and-run on Allmendinger.

My mom pretty much just admitted that she hates road courses just because Joonya sucks at them.

First caution. Time for Jeff Gordon to make a move to catch up to the leaders. It's now or never.

Wow look at Kurt! His supposedly "second-rate" Hendrick equipment seems to be kicking ass today!

Not sure if I should laugh or facepalm.

No one has ever implied that Hendrick sends James Finch "second-rate" equipment.
