Newman's engine is about to blow up. I don't think anyone anticipated the temperature to be this warm.

Kenseth wins it. Yep, I'm Captain Obvious.

Just watching Jimmie near the end was interesting. Was waiting for the engine to blow. :D
Since it was spraying all over the place.

Biffle screwed himself there. Must've thought "Fuuuuuuu..."

You won the race! Your prize: That terrible milk/protein/gatorade stuff.

Stewart
Gordon

Aaand Danica Patrick. :p

Who I hope to win the 500. Lol
Hm. My friend likes Matt Kenseth

Apparently there are 4 ways to make the 500:
A) Top 35.
B) Qualifying
C) Duel
D) Buy a ride after qualifying.

Guess which method Waltrip is going to do now that he can't race because he wrecked himself?

I would be livid if I were the driver being replaced.

Well the rumor floating is that it would be Robby Gordon selling the ride. If that were the case then I wouldn't want Gordon in the car (but wouldn't want Waltrip in there either) because if he's livid at himself then I'd be worried he has multiple personalities and one of them could hurt the other and himself.

Was it just me or did they throw the yellow rather quickly for Danica's crash on the final lap? I mean, yes it was a hard impact, but so was Reutimann's last year at the Glen and they didn't bother putting the caution out there until after Tony botched the bus-stop :odd:

I'm clearly not a Danica fan, but I can't blame them for throwing out the yellow. I can't recall the last time a car flew into that portion of track that fast before.

In fact, reminded me of Jeff Gordon's crash at Vegas several years ago. He had it worse since he hit solid wall.

Well Stewart had crashed and the field was passing through while Reutimann was pretty much not going to have a car pass by afterwards. Although looking at the video:

At 1:47 there is a flag waved right behind and to the left of Reutimann's wreck (it looks like a blue flag but it could be another one). Since there is no camera that was fixed on the Esses location its hard to determine if the caution came out for Stewart or it was indeed for Reutimann and Stewart's wreck happened in the interim.

The softwall really helped Danica in her crash. In these pictures you can see it give and soften the blow. However crashes like this worry me, a driver may be injured and not know it. John Andretti once broke a rib in a crash at Charlotte and didnt notice it until 2 weeks later.

According to current reports, Danica has a large bruise on her elbow from impact with the seat, and a 'painful' left ankle. She isn't sure how she got the foot injury. In-car video depict quite an impact.

My guess is she hit that wall at about 170-180 mph. The air getting under the car as it slid toward the wall lifted it just enough that the tires could barely scrub off any speed.

It's races like this on tracks like Daytona and Talladega that concern me about Danica in NASCAR. I saw the crash she took in replay, and it was pretty hard. She's pretty tough despite her petite (5' 2") frame. Stuff like this is all going to be in the learning process for her in taking on NASCAR.

That crash had me worried. The car wasn't slowing, massive amount of energy being tossed at a wall.
Thankful for the safer barriers. IMHO all the walls that face the track should be the energy absorbing type.

Not to worry.. if a wall doesn't have a safer barrier, Jeff Gordon will find it and hit it hard. :nervous:

My only guess is that impact must've done a number to her ankle. Her elbow though, I don't really see what it hit to cause a bruise. Seemed like when she lifted her arms, it was clear of hitting anything.
