Was just reading some comments on NASCAR.com about this mornings announcement and someone there was saying that it's stopped raining and is clearing up.

I've heard that it's suppose to be cleared by 3pm. That would give them ample time to dry the track before the 7:27 scheduled start time.

I just got home from school and thought that i would be able to watch the race. But... the race is at 8pm (we don't have daylight saving time) and I have school tommorow ill be only able to watch an hour of it. :nervous::nervous:

Darrell Waltrip
if this is just a brief shower we will still be good for a 7:00E on Fox start, it took about 2 1/2hrs to dry it earlier,we got plenty of time

Well, looks like there is hope! :)

The race will probably be done at around 12 for you, and you have a huge project worth %120 due tommorrow, right? :sly:

What if I told you that the winner only got across the line first because of a bump from Regan Smith?

Or that Robby Gordon won because the Busch brothers wiped the field out on the last lap?

Weather looks good at around 7pm ET tonight. At 8pm and 9pm, 50% chance of heavy rain so that's not ideal.

At the moment, looks likely an hour's worth of racing before we go into Tuesday.

I still think we're racing tomorrow. ;)

Anyone else tired of the stupid pictures going around facebook making fun of NASCAR for not racing in the rain? Some people need to grow up. :ouch:

Just fed up of the people who say Nascar is boring as all drivers do is turn right and run around in circles. Look, if you don't like it, just shut up. Its not at all boring and why do people have to make such stupid comments.

Its suicide to race so many cars this heavy, this fast, this close, in the rain

The rain part is stupid as the cars are much too fast for their downforce to not hydroplane. And for boring, as montoya has mentioned before they used to give "overtaker of the year" awards in F1 who would go to someone with maybe 6 overtakes in a season. Most nascar races have double that in lead changes alone.

You mean left? ;)

100 lead changes at a plate track.
My friends facebook, he races but I found one of the comments quite funny.

NASCAR is soft, one of the biggest races in history and there going to move it to tomorrow where barely anyone can watch it? either tough it out and race in the rain or you could have waited until it dried up, wouldn't surprise me if as soon as they called it the track dried up. 7 year old kids race in the rain, why can professional drivers?

Tyson
the things already drive like they're on ice. it's not F1, you can't possibly race those things in the rain
Demario
Because 7 year olds arent racing 🤬 750hp stock cars."

Even if they let them race the rain tires couldn't stand the load.

I do that for the road courses only as, unless it's really heavy rain, they don't have an excuse not to go racing :sly:

Proof that people will open their mouths and stay stupid crap when they don't know the facts.

Edit: That stream I posted is playing the local news and the weather guy there says that all rain should be gone from the area before 9pm. That's a bit late though.

I cought the last 3 or 4 minutes of Nascar now, and during a live interview with Hamlin, the sun was out and everything was drying nicely. NO JET DRYERS ON THE TRACK WTF
