Gordon 8th in qualifying this early on. COME THE HELL ON!

No Trevor Bayne or Kenny Wallace in today's race :(

Aside from Kahne, the Hendrick cars weren't so good, so I wouldn't start jumping to conclusions and making excuses as to why Jeff didn't qualify so good.

Marcos Ambrose

This is one of his better tracks

If theres going to be a first time winner tonight, it will be him,

edit: well 1st time winner on ovals.

He won last year at Watkins Glen. And boy was the guy who sang the national anthem annoying.

First time winner at Texas or in general? Because Ambrose already won a race at Watkins Glen last year. But yes, I would like to see him win! :)

Engines firing now. Green flag set for 7:46 Eastern.

EDIT: Travis Pastrana gives the command to start engines.

My mistake 1st win on an oval. I'm sure if he won tonight it would feel like a 1st win for him.

Looking at the starting lineup, it's a bit surprising how many already have a win. Allmendinger's the only one looking for their first win that's in the Top 20.

Green Flag waving for 501 Miles.

EDIT: Some cars heading down pit road, Landon Cassill steaming on lap 12.

Those Ford are going to be tough to beat, I see that Smoke and Gordon are on the move though.

Some dark clouds out towards turns 1 and 2. There was a chance for rain later in the race or around midnight local time.

Kenseth reporting a burning smell in his car, though there is no debris on the front bumper of the car.

EDIT: Biffle takes the lead from Truex Jr., first lead change, second leader (Lap 32)

EDIT 2: Kenseth up to second despite the complaint of the burning smell, position changes all over the track.

42 of 334 Laps Complete

Green flag pit stops beginning on Lap 45, race leader Biffle into the pits.

EDIT: Kahne held up in pit road by another car entering the box in front of him as he attempted to leave his box. Harvick to second place running the high line.
