Didn't Hamlin win last week?

Why yes, it was. Was assuming he was reffering to the Nationwide series race and just relized that. You know how crazy this guy is.

Yeah he's switched back to his "Go 24" forum theme, or whatever you want to call it.

I picture a kid walking around a Lowe's hardware store all day, wearing a Jeff Gordon DuPont shirt and hat, and sipping an Amp Energy drink.

Is it just me? :scared:

No, you're probably right.

That's how I'm going picture him from now on.👍

This race weekend at Richmond brought to you by Busch- Kurt in Nationwide and Kyle (Rowdy) in Cup. Have to wonder if the Busch Bros. got their swagger back by returning to familiar territory- Victory Lane.

Well... bring on Talladega! Bring on 2.6+ miles of high-speed pandemonium. And everybody plays nice at Talladega, right? You know, the Big One rarely happens. Yeah, right- all Hell may break loose as per usual at Talladega. Next weekend, bring on Talladega!

The way the last few races have been, I can see the only crashing being caused by flat tires or getting down to the end of the race when drivers get impatient trying to go for the win.

Yea, I used to curse the drivers that would constantly cause wrecks and wonder why they were so incompetent. **cough**Robby Gordon**cough**

But it seems like now the drivers are wrecking alot less and makes for some good racing. But I have to admit, I kinda miss yelling at the tv as much. :)

I'm sure something will happen at Talledega, but I'm not so sure it will be like in the past.

You know, I respect Michael Waltrip for taking on these sportscar racing challenges. I know this isn't a sportscar racing thread, but I respect him. It's much like how I would have loved to see Dale Earnhardt Sr. maybe take on Le Mans or something if the Intimidator were still with us.

By the way... I saw most of the Cup race at Richmond. Didn't see it all.

Yeah. Those last ten laps usually guarantee major wall-banging - not a good thing when the racing at the end is close but clean, even canny. Green/White/Checkers solved that, but only a little bit.

Those HUGE wipeouts that used to happen are getting less and less, yeah - but I guess that is NASCAR's whole ethic about it; safety. Chrikey, I remember a time you'd see at least three 'big ones' not just one at Talledega, or even Darlington or Pocono.

jimmie was screwed by his pit crew i dont think he knows that his crew member rolled the tire he said that a tire got away from them so... bye crew member

Where's a Head banging emoticon when you need?

IMO, it wasn't the jackman's fault that he rolled it. The person who was supposed to take it from him wasn't there. I guess he could have brought it to the wall. They would've lost less time that way, but if anybody was at fault, it's the guy that didn't take the tire in the first place, but he won't be gone from the team.

The logic in this thread is stunning.

If that was directed towards me, I don't want more wrecks, it just takes getting used to not having them. Sorry if you took me the wrong way. I'm all for more competent racing.

That wasn't at all directed towards you. I'm enjoying the lack of cautions too.

Ok thanks. After re-reading my post, I could see how it looked like I was hoping for more wrecks, but I don't. It's hard to translate thoughts on the interwebs! lol.

Watchout for those ECR powered cars this weekend at Talladega. ECR arguably has the best restrictor plate program in all of Nascar.

Didn't the Fords sweep the front row, and dominate the Daytona 500 this season? Didn't Ford win both Daytona races last season, with Trevor Bayne and David Ragan? ECR hasn't had the best plate program since 2010, back when Harvick, Bowyer, and McMurray won all 4 of the plate races.

I said "arguably" has the best plate program, Yes, their Plate program has been a bit off in recent years, but they were dominate at the chase race with Bowyer last year. And yes, the Fords have been dominate at Daytona, but Talladega is Chevy land. I think it's safe to say, "Which chevy is going to win at Dega this weekend?"

I'm hoping the Top Gear tonight will get me back into NASCAR. Supposedly Hammomd loves it, so I'll see what a Brit thinks and maybe it will encourage me to watch more.

Chevy have won last 4 races. Ford and Toyota previous. Just like to point out Chevy's numerical dominance however in NASCAR...

Not even an argument. Ford has upped their program and Gibbs has been strong and then you have the Hendrick Powered cars. So ECR has its moments but not on a consistant basis.

6 out of the 10 who finished in the top ten were of the three teams I named. However, to be fair ICEYOU three ECR powered cars finish in the top ten as well.

These are the results of this years 500.

Who's watching the Top Gear NASCAR episode?

(I have a feeling that this will be a long episode...)
