Unlike Rockingham and North Wilkesboro, Bristol has well over 100,000 seating capacity so selling out isn't a requirement to make a profit from a race weekend.

Racing should be about racing, not selling seats. But I understand NASCAR is in the business of making money, even though it's sad.

If these things were true then Bristol should go ahead and lock the gates now because the only thing Bristol has is a track in the middle of nothing. I know as I live here and both Bristol Va/Tn has ran almost every bit of work out of town all they want is Wal-Marts and low paying food places to collect taxes from. If you watch the next race and look close you will see all the seats that are unsold,Bruton used to sell these to companies but with companies being watched for wasting money they don't buy them anymore. Bruton's too stupid to lower the ticket prices so people can afford to go all he wants is money,money and more money. I think Bristol has the highest ticket prices anywhere in NASCAR.

Granted I do think lowering ticket prices would do more good period, but I guess the rich don't understand common sense sometimes. I've always said getting people to the track is hardest thing, very few people get there and don't go home with merchandise. Give the fans a break, and watch more truely sold out full stands at races.

I take it you have never been to North Wilkesboro? If not, then Bristol is a big city compared to it, and the track was pretty much left for dead. Rockingham has atleast upgraded and tried to improve to gain top series.
 
North Carolina is a fun track to race on in NASCAR games, in my favorite (NASCAR Thunder 2004) it was the second and next to last race, so you could experience the full season excluding the Daytona 500 and Ford 400 between the two best races on that schedule.
 
How would replacing a race at Michigan with a race at The Rock sound? NASCAR needs more unique tracks and less cookie-cutter ovals.

Michigan isn't the issue.

It's the 1.5 mile tracks that could be less on the schedule.

Let's start by taking Kentucky, Kansas off period. I miss the tracks that weren't always on cup schedule that lower series ran, but now they are going away as fast as they can had some big track. 1.5 mile tracks are fine to a degree, but they hardly produce great racing anymore. It's one reason why I stopped going to 600 at Charlotte.

Another huge issue is Smith stealing races, he buys tracks and moves the dates. He fails to really see what he does, because he never lost a dime! I wish someone would be able to help these independent tracks stay up and running.
 
Don't get rid of Kentucky, get rid of Texas & California (We have Charlotte & Michigan which are exactly the same only older and better) and move Darlington to California's date, then give Rockingham Texas' second date and Texas' first date to Nashville Superspeedway (Just for Joe Nelms)

They do it because they can; they know that the Irwin Tools Night Race tickets are some of the hottest tickets in sport and regardless of how inflated the prices are, people will snap them up. Although a price drop for the spring race could be in order unless they want to lose it due to low attendance.

Well, all sports would get nowhere without fans.

Like IndyCar didn't return to Loudon this year because of low attendance last season.

But let's look at Indycar from fan stand point, they offer good seats for a awesome price compared to NASCAR. I haven't really followed the series much as a whole, but for the fans they seem to actually be a better deal overall.

NASCAR honestly seems to be losing their fans because of high prices with average races. If you want to charge the prices they do, then better back it up more than they are.

Right but now we are blessed with TV so there are more fans than ever.

They've sort of lost me as a fan. The only tracks I really enjoy are Daytona, Talladega, Indianapolis, Bristol, and the road courses.

If your lucky to have cable. I haven't in couple years so I have hit or miss on getting races. It sucks that they aren't on basic cable for most of season anymore!

I just heard that on NASCAR Raceday. Of all drivers, I never thought that Allmendinger would have tested positive for drugs.

NASCAR wouldn't even take questions or announce what might have caused the positive test. Almost like they were afraid to divulge the info.

Sam will be very lucky to make it to the track (from Charlotte) in time to start. He may have to start while the race is in progress.

Penske will probably find someone else to start the race if they have to. I doubt Hornish will make it to the track in time.
 
Sam Hornish Jr. won't make it on time, no matter what happens. It takes at least 2 hours to get to Charlotte and another 45-60 minutes to get to the track. Then you have to do all the stuff that drivers do to get into the track itself.
 
So we got Harvick very likely on baby watch with Wallace ready to stand in and now, AJ suspended with Sam to take his place.

Still not going to happen, same with Kenny Wallace if he drives. I cannot see either doing real good. Honestly, poor choices for stand-ins.
