It was never supposed to come untill tonite (11pm CST). People are just confused.

On the news item on my GT5, it said 4pm BST / 5pm CET. It hadn't come up by 4:45, and I've not been back on since.
 
As far as I see, right now (8:25PM BST)...Nothing

Polyphony Digital has, curiously, announced a special “NASCAR-themed online racing event” to be held in GT5‘s Seasonal Events next Monday, August 29th at approximately 8:00PM PST.

That's not for another 8 hours.

You seem to be missing the point. In Europe the time given was 4pm BST / 5pm CET. So maybe, the US and EU servers were scheduled for maintenance at different times - a possible load sharing exercise? But given the fact it said the time was subject to change, and it is PD/Sony we're talking about, I expect them some time within the next 24 hours.

I was looking on a time converter earlier and work it out to be that time, I get confused with - and + 6 hours. Excuse me for trying to convert it into PST for you guys.
 
i acutally hope they leave asm locked on, so those of us knowing how to take it off will have an advantage :)

The European GT site:

"Beginning 4.00 BST/5.00 CET on August 30, a special NASCAR-themed online racing event will be held."

In other words, still hours away (about 7 now). It does not say 4pm, and it does say the 30th, so unless you all got a bad copy of the announcement, the one above has been posted since Aug 23, 2011, and it clearly doesn't say 4pm on the 29th for europe.

Off the top of my head i think it said 11:00 PM EST it that helps too. What i dont get is what all of us are on about, it says right on the entry menu of the game. I may be missing something here however

I blame the jet lag...it normally works! You wouldn't believe I've been back for 5 days with the zombie-like I've been in even up til now!

I only turned it on earlier for a quick look at it, seen it wasn't there and thought typical PD. I don't know when I looked at the news but the 4/5 really stuck in my mind (think it was the BST/CET that stuck). I guess I just hoped it'd be done at a good time for me!

Not missing a thing, just a bunch of confusion and bad math. If I had anything better to do this afternoon, I'd be doing it right now. lol, but thanks, I'd still be telling people the wrong time if a couple people han't chimed in with the 11pm EST. I've only been back in CST for about a year, and I still think in EST when I do the math. DOH!:dunce:

Hehe, jet lag, yah, I blame the jet lag. I haven't been on a jet recently, but jet lag:sly:.
No worries, I'm not sure any of us actually had the correct time after the OP. lol

When the update/seasonal go up I will need to be sleeping because of school... and to add more, Tuesday is the only day I will be having afternoon class, so this NASCAR event forme just tomorrow at night... if the lights don't go out.. because you guys know, when it rains, it pours...

I haven't even touched any of the GT5 Nascars since Dec 2010. If GT had flags, i'd be taking the black for sure. Probably should be doing some practice laps right now.....
 
Graduated in 1993. Never thought it would end, now I wonder where the time went.
