I thought I read somewhere about a March/April release. I forget where I saw the article as it's been a couple of weeks since I read it. I think the game site still indicates a February release. Anyone hear anything?

Hopefully it's as good as it looks, glad to hear the 2011 DLC will be free. I also hope the livery editor is as good as he made it sound.

Incredible simulation engine! 👍

Brown asphalt, just like Ferrari Challenge. Not so 👍 but not too bad either.

Game seems to be very interesting.

Glad to hear release is still planned for February......hopefully in time for speedweek.

When Ed Martin talks you can just tell he knows whats going on. Seems like a smart guy who been around NASCAR and racing games a long time. I really feel like NASCAR console games might have finally found a good home for a while. I can't wait!! The league I'm in is starting to come together. We'll run 50% races every sunday night at 9pm. The NTG 2011 forum has a complete list of leagues. ALthough i think every that post here in this thread is already a memeber over there.

Thal I recognize your name from somewhere.....must be from over at NTG forums. I'm not a league member anywhere but am interested. Which one are you in and which time zone is the 9PM based on?

Hope the league owner doesn't mind me post his link. You have to register in both the driver registration and the forum. Send a message to one of the team owners in the forum and they'll hopefully sign you to there team. Some i think wanna try out

43 cars. One the hardest thing a dev can do. I'm a NASCAR racing fan always have been. When I play GT5 the track just seems so empty. One of the most skillful things you have to do in a NASCAR game is at the last moment adjust your line into a turn because you realize your gonna go side by side. The intensity of trying to nail the throttle at just the right moment. With out pushing up and hitting the other driver coming off the turn. This is what league racing will be all about. Because leagues won't stand for rough driving accept in the closing laps. If you think you can just bump and wreak people in a league you'll be out before the first race ends.

I went over and signed up under my most used PSN CraigKast. We'll see. Thanks for the link Thal.

Don't get your hopes too high just yet, it seems that this game has got some pressure to deliver. However, up to now everything I've seen looks very promising. I hope they do release a demo, so people can get a taste of whats in store when the actual game comes out.

Ed Martin was apart of ea when they made great NASCAR games 02 03 04. If you go over to there forums you'll find the developers are all over the threads. Asking questions and listening to the community . This game will be the best console NASCAR game to ever come so far. It wont be perfect, its there first run

Apart from GT5 this was the One other game i was looking forward too , I just hope it lives up to my expexctations 👍

The EA Version was absolute Crap :grumpy:

Proper Online Racing in these Types of Cars with people who enjoy Racing them and not making it into a Demolition Derby could be Fantastic

Roll On Feb 2011 👍

Online will be fun with people who want to race. Single player.... I hope that the version that is shown is like an arcade type. The Nascar XP thing is just game ruining, in a racing game, you race not do stuff for your bar to increase (ala NFS: Shift). So I hope there is a simulation mode aswell.

Anyone who wants to join a league go to NASCAR the game 2011 forum, there is a league thread. Most leagues have strict rules about causing cautions. They deduct points from you but most have 4 cautions in one race your booted out the league. Cautions are reviewed to see who is at fault. Dirty racing in NASCAR can ruin the experience. I'm pumped about my league. Don't know how my arms will feel after a 50% race on my driving force GT.

I'd joining your league, but 9pm Sundays won't happen for me. I work too early in the morning for that. Sunday mornings however I'd be all for.

There ya go. The leagues so far. The mod tries to update his first post with all the new leagues but it takes awhile. If you go to the last pages of the thread you might find some new leagues not on the list. The closer the game is to release the more info you'll have about the leagues.

LSX I was looking for one on saturday night. I was gonna start my own league, it just seems like a lot of work to start a web site. Maybe I'll look into it. Anyone else interested in a Saturday evening league? Eastern Standard time starting anytime after 8pm?

I have concerns about the game being too "arcady" as well. I hope the videos we're seeing is just them trying to show the arcade aspects in hopes of luring more buyers while the sim-fans will have the option to toggle off all the arcade junk. Speaking of arcade junk, I hope the visible slipstream business can be turned off as well. It doesn't belong on my screen.

Watch that video and look at the amount of setup you can do. Pause it, that looks like a hardcore sim guys setup

Visible draft confirmed on/off switch. They are trying to make a game for both casual and hardcore racers. They need to sell more copies then just sim guys or they might not have the license for long. So yes there are gonna be some aspects that sim guys aren't gonna like. But it seems like they know that and have the option to turn these things off. Like the assists confirmed on/off.... with the assists on the DEV's said it WILL slow you down. Unlike EA 09 the assists made you faster. Look its not gonna be IRACING. IRACING has a big price tag btw. You get what you pay for. But it won't be as sad as GT5 NASCAR. Ed Martin was also with Papyrus.. Quoted from an interview with him

"Well, let me give you a little background as I have been doing these games for years. I started with Papyrus in the early '90s, and ran the NASCAR franchise for Hasbro Sports (NASCAR Heat) and Electronic Arts (NASCAR series), so I have been around these games for a long time. There has not been anything this detailed since the Papyrus titles, and that was not even this grandiose...."

ESPN interview with ED..

I don't want to get too much into the history of the license because we want to focus on the new game, but the history is important. I started at EA back in 2001. "NASCAR 2001" was really floundering, so we moved the development to Florida (EA Tiburon) and the game became the "NASCAR Thunder" series. EA did very well with it, then the last thing I did when I was with EA was actually get the exclusive deal with NASCAR that ran from 2003 to 2009. As time went on, EA, quite frankly, lost interest in NASCAR. They had the exclusive license, so they no longer needed to put all their resources into it. They outsourced everything, and the game languished.

I wasn't sure about this one at first, but as long as you can shut off the "visual draft" etc, then count me in. 👍

Would it be possible for us to send it across the pond? Or are PS3 games usually region locked?
