Nice. Please tell me online is fixed, I really do not want to go through that mess I had Tuesday.

So I just got on. Now how do you get the Gen 6 cars? What do I need to do, buy the ticket pack from the Store or from in-game?

This is from the Official NASCAR the Game Forum:

I did not write this, just copied it from RedWingsRule post:

NTG: Inside Line Patch Fix List

Here's the list of fixes:

Online:

Xbox, a player can be put into a lobby where NATs conflict meaning they will be kicked when the counter reaches zero.
If someone is dropped when in the Infield Garage, the rolling starts are broken.
Matchmaking puts the player into a lobby when a game is already in progress.
After a caution / quick caution, players can be dropped from the game.
If a player DNF’s and then a caution is called, players separate into different lobbies.
Infrequently the player appears to have hit a car in front even though they are not touching.
Sometimes laps go out of sync when compared with other players in the game.
On the Caution Summary, the number plate becomes mixed up if a player leaves the game.
On the Garage Overview screens, the number plates are not listed correctly.
If the host is in any position other than first, they will take off and leave the pack in both SF and DF rolling starts after a caution.
When the Quick Caution screen appears, all players seem to have 80% “health”.
When the Quick Caution screen appears for the second time, wedge cannot be adjusted.
When reviewing the online race results, players who DNF’d aren't displayed.
When joining a race in progress, only the host’s progress i.e. Racing Lap X is displayed.
Sometimes cautions don’t appear to be called.
Often 3 laps are run in a GWC.
At the end of a practice session, the Overview appears different on numerous players consoles.
A player car number doesn't show up in the lobby interface when joining a game in progress until that player finishes racing and returns to the lobby.
When joining a session in progress and once the race is completed, a Race Over counter begins. This sequence breaks with around 10 seconds left.
During the rolling start sequence a car can appeared ghosted.
The session over times aren't in sync.
Invalid laps from the Road Courses can be seen by others even though dashes are seen by the offending player on their overview screen (Qualifying).
The overview screen can remain on during gameplay.

Offline / Possibly Online:

Cautions are called when the player is on the apron around the start of the pit road zone.
The CSR wheel depresses both the accelerator and clutch at the same time.
Setups do not save correctly.
One of the player cars disappear during the split screen rolling start and reappears when crossing the start line.
The player can get inaccurate lap times, normally very small.
A.I. cause cautions when leaving pit road under green flag conditions.
The player position indicator is missing on the single file caution sequence.
A.I. appear to have problems with pit strategy, pitting the lap after a Caution or most of the field coming in on the same lap under green.
A.I. general over taking and passing of lapped cars has been improved.
A.I. "brake checking" on certain tracks has been improved.
During a pit stop changing the wedge, returning to do another stop, the wedge has changed.
Richmond and possibly other tracks, some AI drivers change their paint scheme between practice and the race.
DNF’ing because of damage or fuel doesn't update the race stats, it should.
Adding a splash of gas would add a full can.
The positions made / lost on the Caution Summary screen is often wrong even though the players are in the correct position.
Roof flaps don’t deploy during replays.
When receiving an message that a sponsor is interested, qualify 10th or better in the next 2 races, doesn't work.
If the car is fatally damaged and on fire and rolls across the finish line in 1st place, it the burnout sequence and Victory Road the car remains on fire.
If you run out of gas but win the race, you can’t go forwards during the burn out but you can reverse?
During the single file caution state when others are pitting but not the player, the wrong way text or the ahead / behind indicator can appear under the text.
Paint Booth, colors are added to the recent colors list even if they are in there already.
The spotter stops talking when turning off the proximity indicator.
Only the first 4 photo’s show up on the loading screen.

Re-Balance / Enhancement:

Added black flags (only) to the flag rules in Choose a Race and Private Race.
Increase the chance of a new primary sponsor offer being made.
In Season mode, change the paint scheme of the player car to the scheme that ran at the appropriate race if we have it, otherwise default to the one the player chose at the start.
The tire temp indicator shows blue at too high a temp.
Change the tire wear indicator to a non linear scale to match the drop off.
Re-balanced the road course penalty system.
When creating a new setup the default values should be based on the preset race set up for that track.
Re-balance how much the tires wear on various tracks.
The car now overheats quicker.
During the single file caution state, the player can use all camera functions.
Right stick can be defined to accelerate / brake.
Time to give a position back on the plate tracks increased to 10 seconds.
Default Dead Zone setting for wheels should be 5%.
When using a wheel, the steer assist should be used so that when full the wheel doesn't have any stagger effect.
Mechanical damage has been made more consistent.
A.I. cars can be turned easier by the player.
Reviewed performance of wheels in the game and enhanced.
Improved the stagger between cars during rolling starts.

You will be able to buy the cars In Game under ticket exchange I think? If not there, it is in the same menu area.

So I just found this:

Prepare to rev up those engines because Eutechnyx and Activision are bringing a host of DLC to help support the 2013 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series season.

Weekly Inside Line Highlights will be available throughout the season, letting you Relive or Rewrite iconic moments from NASCAR races shortly after they unfold on the tracks. The Inside Line Highlights packs will be using telemetry data to authentically recreate the action from NASCAR races. Players will have the opportunity to relive the greatest achievements of the 2013 season, covering the Great American Race - the Daytona 500, and racing till the epic finale at the Homestead-Miami Speedway*.

Alongside the Inside Line Highlights, NASCAR The Game: Inside Line will be bringing the brand new Chevrolet SS, Ford Fusion and Toyota Camry Gen 6 models into the game for the first time. The 2013 Gen 6 Paint Scheme DLC will allow players to download a brand new officially licensed 2013 season paint scheme for each driver and will allow players to race online and in selected single player modes (excluding career and season).

To see what all the 2013 Gen 6 paint schemes look like, please click here.

When released you can access the new content via the in-game menus. When entering the driver selection menu you will have a toggle to swap between the 2012 and the 2013 rosters, when you have picked your chosen driver you will then see all the available paint schemes, if you select one you do not own a prompt will appear asking if you wish to purchase the new scheme, once purchased you will be able to use the chosen paint scheme. The same format applies for purchasing new Inside Line Highlights, once in the menu you will have a toggle to select highlights from 2011, 2012 and 2013, when you select a 2013 highlight you do not own, another prompt will appear asking if you wish to purchase the content.

All DLC will be available on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 only, and can be purchased using the in-game Ticket currency. Each individual Inside Line Highlight pack will cost 20 Tickets and individual paint schemes will cost 10 Tickets.

A $24.99 (2000 MSFT points) Season Pass (Called Inside Line Pack) is also available, giving players access to all the Inside Line Highlight packs as they are released, as well as access to all 43 of the launch 2013 Gen 6 paint schemes, when purchasing new content you will be offered the chance to purchase the Season Pass or buy the items individually.

*Races at Bristol, Kansas and Dover will not be available.

X-Box patch was approved today. Should be released shortly followed by the DLC.

Update:

X-box patch is live, DLC should be out sometime next week.

Just picked this up. Trying to get my dfgt to work but it isn't too great. What settings you guys using?

Haven't played in a while, so I don't know how this behaves post-patch:
Deadzone: 0%
Steering Sensitivity: 100%
FFB: 95-100%

It's not as good as NTG2011 with a wheel, but the above settings made it pretty decent for me.

I played with settings a little and am still having trouble. I qualify first all the time but once any pack it won't hold a line. Hope they fix the wheel issues.

Yeah the DLC Gen6 cars are quite good but you can use them online or offline quick race or test. Not in career. FWIW the DLC cars also incorporated some new features that were unadvertised. In case any dont know: you buy 'tickets' in the PSN Store and then go into the game and exchange them for whatever car you want. A couple of new Gen6 features: the car no longer sheds pieces of itself on the track after bumping a wall (the old cars did that and you couldnt get rid of it.) And if you drive using a cockpit view youll notice that the windshield no longer gets dirty (you never were able to get rid of that either.) Plus the Gen6 cars now have an added gear whine sound to them.

Meh, doesn't really bother me that they can't be used in Career. I understand the car is still relatively new so I'm not throwing a fit about it. Those little details though you mentioned, like the car no longer shedding or the added gearwhine, I'm very interested in seeing those.

You know how it is with games though, some guys live and breathe career mode and others are the same about racing online or whatever. How do you use the game? My net connection is too slow for online and the AI of any game is bound to be a compromise, so career is out. That leaves Track Test and thats where I use the game the most. Funny thing though- for some reason I think its totally pointless to try for fast laps in a nascar game. In Dirt3 I bet my times at DLC Monaco are very leaderboard worthy, but theres NO part of a nascar game that inspires my fast lap attentions.

I've been sorta been back & Forth with online. The lag spikes on the starts as well as the bubble effect are whats kept me mostly away from it. Usually, I sometimes race the AI just for the NASCAR fix and some online for some actual competition (whenever it works anyway). Don't really care too much for career since you can't use your own paint schemes (only that pre-made stuff).

I never bother going for fastest laps on ANY leaderboard since everyone is either going to cheat or just too fast for me anyhow.

I've been sorta been back & Forth with online.

From what Ive read the vast majority of online races are at superspeedways; people just want the buzz of the pedal to the metal thing. The nascar boys are at Martinsville in a couple of days, why dont you get into one of the Gen6 cars tonight and see what kind of lap times you do there, I'll do the same. I use stock setups except for the steering lock, so that my wheel feels compatible.

As far as lame leaderboard tricks in NTGIL, Ive read that some dummies discovered that if you boost the front ride heigth way up, and the rear way down, that it makes you faster (!)

Anyway I use stock setups.

Yeah. Its kinda annoying that every time I get an invite, its to Talladega
Restrictor plate races have been the worst for me when its come to those lag problems.

Eh, I hate Martinsville. No matter what NASCAR game I play, I simply cannot figure out or stand that track. It just frustrates me. I'll probably do some laps in the Gen 6 car, but those are the only laps I'll ever do

I got a wheel myself, but I have nothing stable to sit it on in front of the TV.

Edit: Fastest I could achieve was 00:20:63.

Yeah thats about right. I used the preset qualifying and did 20.33.
But nothing to set your wheel on?? Dude..!
I for sure know what you mean about Martyville. The superspeedways and the ultra short M-ville are not much fun. The shortest I enjoy is Richmond/Dover.
Heres a fun thing to try:
use the bumper or hood cam and go to Chicago or Kansas, and coming off the last corner for the main straight instead of easing in towards the left keep the car out to the right and ride alongside the main straight wall..
I have a subwoofer and the sound they added as you blow past the safer barriers is wild.. try to keep around 6-12 inches from the wall the whole time.
The sense of speed is a blast.

This game is garbage with a wheel. Tried multiple setups and settings and it just doesn't work. Anyone have NASCAR 2011? Want to trade this in for it.

Well I play with:

sensitivity 80%
Deadzone 0%
force feedback 100%

Pedals are personal preference really. Also if you like your wheel straight when going down straights as opposed to countersteering for the stagger in the cars setup turn steering assist on.

I have same settings but I think I'm gonna try the assist on I've heard this before. I just wish that it would be a lot similar to gran turismo 5.

It kinda boggles my mind why a European developer would wait so long to release a game in its own region. Can't they just do it simutaniously, or at least a day or two later instead of months later?
