Everyone has their own tastes, but NTG:IL really does do a few important things well. So you EU guys have something good to look forward to. Its not perfect or even entirely fleshed out in some of its features, but after the patch was released it really made whats there come into focus.

The graphics, sound, and handling are all good. The Generation 6 DLC cars are worth having a few of. A couple of track highlights IMO are: Darlington (night) and Charlotte. And Dover feels proper fast.

Have you tried any of the new highlight packages Motorcycle54?

The short answer is no. But I'm not entirely sure what they are/do... they are connected to the finishes of actual nascar races so far this season, but I'm not sure what their purpose is.

For EU guys: 2 things you really have to have, are the patch(es) Eutechnyx released, and some of the Gen6 DLC cars. Those two together really lift the game up off the floor. And sure, NTGIL still lacks stuff, but the patches+Gen6 can give many hours of.. well.. whatever it is you call it when you're doing upwards of 170mph and are 2 or 3 inches from the wall before you turn in to the corner. Lap after lap. At night. And the sound is as good or better than anything Codemasters ever did.

fun?
sure, lets go with that.

I was asking as I am one of the people who makes the highlights :P

Ok then, well, its a highlight for me, just to be talking to you.
So consider your job doubly-done.

:)

..oh and what say 'yall get to work on some fantasy DLC tracks. Its a long time until the NTGIL sequel and the natives are bound to become restless.

Haha, you need better highlights in your life!

Have been on gtplanet much longer than I have been making games! only been at ETX a year.

Fantasy tracks, would be a lot of fun, not sure if the license would allow us to though... Personally I would like Road America but that is just a personal want, nothing official :P

Haha, well am glad you enjoy the game, there have been issues unfortunately but personally I really enjoy how the cars feel in the game and how tyre drop-off works.

The highlights are a lot of fun, going through telemetry data for the races is always cool and now they will be released the same week as the race, for example the Texas ones went live about two hours ago which is a decent turnaround.

Impressions:

Cars feel a heck of a lot more alive, but controllable - Darlington I made a turning error and drifted whole turn. AI needs a little bit of work (especially at plate tracks) but its nice to see them 3 and 4 wide at times.

Is it wrong that already I'm predicting the same old "NR2003 was better" comments I always hear when a new NASCAR game comes out?

Loved NTG2011

- Career mode that's nothing more than a season mode.
- The most broken online a human being could ever lay eyes on.
- Bad physics.
- Bad track geometric accuracy.
- Bad paint booth.

What part of NTG11 is fun?

So wheres NR2003s Career mode? Oh yeah that was just a season mode too ;) Don't play consoles online as thats what iRacing is for if you wanna race NASCAR online. By bad physics I presume you mean not realistic, not every game needs to be.

NTG11 has its shortfalls yes but I found it a much more fun game than NR2003.

NR2003 had best physics, tons of mods, tons of editable options and always will be the daddy.
