But does it pertain to the game though? ;)

Unless you know something about the game we don't, probably not.

Well, we know they (Eutechnyx) will have to fix the driver list before the 2013 season starts, if it's true.

Pretty sure they more then us are aware of that since they are the directly dealing with all the licenses, the contracts(of which, there is a boat load of)and all that.

At the minute the game is based on 2012 season, teams and cars. At the moment anything about 2013 is just speculation. However if there was to be DLC or whatever, of course the driver, team and car roster would be updated.

Also there will be no update before the start of 2013 I would imagine. There needs to be access to liveries and data about the new cars before that can be completed.

They said in 2013 they are releasing a DLC with all the new cars and drivers. They said it on a Facebook post

Hmm, as far as I know official word is this:

Q. Are you going to have a 2013 DLC update?
A. Once we've completed NTG:IL we'll start to look at DLC plans moving forward.

Also, new website has just gone live!

One of the things that was appealing about NTG was their intent to be current. Yes, they fell short of releasing NTG11 in time for Daytona 2011. The effort and intent was there.

In contrast, constantly being a year behind was a major failure of EA's when they had a stranglehold on the NASCAR license. The NFL (and gamers) would not stand for it if EA treated the NFL license with the same disregard. I have to believe Ed Martin is quite aware of this flaw in EA's managing of the NASCAR license.

There was a 20 minute or so YouTube video of gameplay while Ed Martin was being interviewed. Based on that interview and apparent dedication to the NASCAR license, I'm [fairly] confident they will add the 2013 changes as quickly as they can.

Playing a 2012 season throughout the 2013 realtime season is unacceptable at this point in gaming.

Seems to work just fine with the F1 license.

It's about conditioning I suppose? F1 gamers should ponder the possibilities and then raise their expectations. Then express those expectations to Codemasters to be able to play along with the current season. Codemasters would either step up their dedication to the license and honor the people's will to be current. Or they would just ignore the gamers. Could you imagine, the team you are driving for has always been a so-so team IRL, suddenly surges as a contender, due to team leadership changes leading to better aero design? If Codemasters would boost that team stats and mechanical changes in the game in realtime, that would greatly benefit the people buying the product. It would also shine a light on CM as a developer who is diligent to make the gamer's experience the best it could possibly be. The same dedication EA has to having Madden and Tiger Woods games to be current.

Remember when we were all hoping PD would have real world circuits have the same time and weather in the game as it is in realtime? This hope was built up because of GT5p displaying current conditions at various tracks around the world.

Or the agenda the Licensee has set for said holders of the license (so I believe anyway), which for both Codemasters and Eutechyx appears to be Semi-yearly released games.

The same dedication EA has to having Madden and Tiger Woods games to be current.

Isn't EA though sort of criticized because they (according to some poeple) "Release the same game every year, just with new things with Bugs"?

Yeah, I don't think that's the paint scheme they should go with. 40% of our drought plagued corn is going for that fuel that has worse mileage, destroys engines internally, and has been discovered to produce more pollutants than straight gasoline! The price of food is about to skyrocket and our wonderful government won't repeal the act that is forcing this crap into production. When food becomes unaffordable, the more NASCAR promotes this crap, fans will resent NASCAR for bowing down before the environmentalists. The "Friends of the Earth" is one of the groups who were pushing for ethanol and now they are pushing to repeal is.

It has it's positives and negatives. In a normal, every day street car it's pointless. But being 105 octane it makes for a cheap race fuel used in high performance street cars and some race cars. I personally have friends who run their cars on it for the high octane benefits, and in fact if I had kept my turbo Miata longer I would have switched to it as well.

We aren't talking about bugs and reputation right now. We are talking about having annual sports game's rosters easily updated. With the only thing praise worthy out of the way, EA is one of the biggest thieves in gaming. Extorting $60 every year for updated rosters and a few improvements because they have no competitors, is one of the reasons I loath EA.

If its going to be done properly the dev needs access to performance figures, data taken from the races and access to the paintschemes. This doesn't come early enough for it to be ready at the start of the season unfortunately. Personally I think its better to have a more accurate game than one rushed out.

I can understand the bit about waiting for paint schemes but they could probably skip performance data. Unless they get a better handling model and give this a more sim like feel, the fine details of a car's performance are not going to be even noticable in a game like this.

It's kind of sad that NTG11 is such a laughing stock; I feel that someone else could have done a much better job. I don't care about however many new paint schemes or 'fire effects' they have on the cars, they need to get a proper handling model and that needs to be priority #1.

Its much improved in my opinion, especially with wheels. And if we skip performance data it's really not going to help with improving the game.

We want to do a better job and the team is certainly committed to doing so.

According to Race Hub on SPEED, Logano might be going to the 22 and some Nationwide races. Ugh, my son is a big fan of Joey's and Hone Depot, and we are a Toyota family.

Don't make me cry. Say it ain't so.

Love the in car view in the Bristol vid, the one up close to the dash so you can't see the steering wheel. Looks perfect for wheel users, it's always annoyed me seeing 2 wheels and hands in front of me. Is this view new? Last one I had was NASCAR 09

That was in NTG11.

The engine sounds, are just perfect :) Will it be released in Europe? Really want to get this title :) I must say im impressed to keep it all running smooth with 43 cars on track.

Two more Bristol Videos. Also, If any of you guys are going to Bristol this weekend you can play the game.

I just remembered, I'm going to be at TMS in October. I wonder if there's a chance I might be able to play it there?
