According to ESPNEWS, Brian Vickers can miss at least three weeks with his blood clot issues. Like Brian Vickers or not, you have to feel for him. My best wishes are with him.
I'm wondering what has caused these problems to him. From what I've heard, He has them both in his legs and heart. It is probably best for him to stay out of the car for abit as I can't imagine doing all that driving while having clots in you heart of all places. Hope he gets better.
The next stage for Brian Vickers is just recovery and treatment as well as hope he'll return to form when he's better.
Since Speed Channel has been hyping up this year's All-Star race since forever (exaggeration), does anyone have any early picks to win the big money at the All-Star Race this weekend?
Casey is better than Scott Speed at least.
Fixed for true exaggeration![]()
I can't help but feel that this is the most pointless race ever. I mean, whats all-star about it? If it was a race with nothing but Cup champions, Nationwide Champions and Truck champions, then all-star would actually have meaning to it. Now sure, its been called the Open when Winston and Nextel had the series, but to call it an "All-Star Race" is just a major joke. And for how much? $1,000,000. Yeah, thats really encouraging, especially knowing it'll never go to a small team like Phoenix Racing or Tommy Baldwin, but to the Super teams like Hendrick. Only time I actually found the race enjoyable was when Kasey got voted into the race and ended up winning it because at the time, GEM was not a team that was competitive to keep up with hendrick on a weekly basis.
ANYONE is better than Scott Speed
So basically you guys want the IROC series back?
I'd like a true "All-star" race for Nascar's best, not the same old crap with the top 35 in points teams we get every year.
Last I checked there are only going to be 21 drivers at most in the race.
Only having 6 cars on the track would get really boring.
Plus, how would you decide who is an all-star?
I really don't know what you are complaining about, both the Showdown and All-Star race put on a good race every year.
My complaint is its overhyped as an "All-Star" race and there is hardly enough drivers that are "all-star". Like I said, the Champions from each of the series would be the "all-stars", giving that name more meaning and actually, there would be more then 6 cars Because you have champions from all three series which include all these active drivers:
*= Champion of two series
Craftsman Truck Series/Camping World Truck Series:
Mike Skinner
Ron Hornaday Jr
Todd Bodine
Johnny Benson*
Greg Biffle*
Travis Kvapil
Mike Bliss
Busch Series/Nationwide Series
Brian Vickers
Kevin Harvick
Jeff Green
Dale Earnhardt, Jr.
David Green
Joe Nemechek
Bobby Labonte*
Carl Edwards
Kyle Busch
Martin Truex Jr
Winston Cup/Nextel Cup/Sprint Cup Series
Jeff Gordon
Tony Stewart
Jimmie Johnson
Matt Kenseth
Kurt Busch
And in total, thats 22, not 6 as you pointed out so thats enough cars for a race without being boring.
JustinSo if someone wins the batting title in AAA and AA they should automatically be in the MLB all-Star game?
JustinOf that list, I see 11 that are actually in contention of winning on a constant basis(Although there are 2 or 3 I almost made a line through). There are only 3 non-Cup drivers, not sure what you are expecting them to drive, unless you are thinking a spec racer IROC style.
I want the IROC series back. How about an IROC race at Charlotte or something.
What an awesome series.
