I realise this isnt a nascar game...But us hardcore nascar only have this to play..Nascar the game is horrible and alot of ppl like me cant afford the whole iracing deal
I'm sorry to hear that, but Gran Turismo has never been about NASCAR and NASCAR isn't the sort of racing that plays a huge part of the series. Imagine you did have a good NASCAR game and then folks started saying, "Hey, can we work some Formula One in there?" NASCAR fans wouldn't want that at all, right? It's the opposite of what they like, right? That's pretty much how it is here.
Look at all the racing games out there, especially the ones that sell best. Note how basically none of them are oval-racers, and the oval-racers that do exist don't sell all that well. Oval racing just isn't popular with racing gamers. It has its fans, but it's more of a niche. It isn't just a niche interest amongst racing gamers, but globally oval racing is also a niche, in that it has its fans but outside the US they're few and far between. Here I should note that the US accounts for just 4.5% of the world's population, so being big in the US isn't the same as being big. "But there's ovals all over the world!" Yes, but they're token ovals. "There's people all over the world that like this sort of racing!" Yes, they're token fans. It's still a niche.
Some players wouldn't mind more NASCAR ovals, but most of those wouldn't go so far as saying that they want them. If you look at the feedback section of the site, where players nominate the tracks they most want to see, it's almost entirely road courses, not just in terms of how many tracks being requested but also in the overwhelming landslide of votes for them versus ovals. What this means is that road courses are in much higher demand from players, by easily a hundred to one, and probably by a much larger landslide.
Now, I don't want anybody interpreting this as me criticizing or disrespecting NASCAR. That's not what I'm doing. I'm just pointing out some truths and facts, and why NASCAR tracks are in such low demand for games like Gran Turismo. It's just the way it is.
EDIT:
I also want to point out that adding some more NASCAR ovals still wouldn't make this a NASCAR game. Admittedly, I haven't played GT5 since before Spa was added, so I don't know if Spa was somehow worked into the A-Spec event list, but I wouldn't imagine so, and if not then I would expect hypothetical NASCAR additions to also
not be worked into the event list. Even if you did have races on those new oval tracks, they'd still be limited to a dozen cars, which isn't anything close to NASCAR. (Or was it sixteen? I know GT5 hypothetically went to sixteen, but almost no events had sixteen cars.)
