It's not actually the V8, just the sound of the V8 car. I don't see what's so bad about it.

Yeah but it would be a bit silly if changing the exhaust made a straight 6 sound like a v8. It will be interesting though to see how the exhausts change the sound of the cars, I have vague memories of the original NFS underground exhausts making some cars sound horrible so I would just leave them stock.

The fact that it's not actually a V8 but sounds like one?

Yeah man, this ain't Gran Turismo or Forza, its Need For Speed! The arcade approach means that the normal rules of customization does not necessarily apply. If that means I can get the V8 sound even if its technically impossible in real life, I really don't mind.

You do realise that I'm saying I'm against the V8 sound change right?

I don't know if any of you saw this but there's an AE86 in one of the trailer. It's a blink-and-miss car.

saw it first time watching the video. AE86 is a car that can't be missed to me lol

No guy quoted him other than you though...with that post that is :odd:

Ah, was referring to this one

Does it? You want fake customization results from a game that's all about real customization?

If its an arcade game, which the NFS is, yeah I don't mind. For me, the rules can be a bit loose. I see this as a spiritual successor to NFSU2, and most do I think, so I'm not surprised if they were to be less strict with results. Yes, the upcoming game looks life-like and there are real customization, but so was the NFSU2 at its time. And it turned out to be a great arcade racing game.

Ah I see, now it's not confusing. As for the other part this NFS is trying to be far more serious than previous ones even if it is more arcade racer than sim, but this is a game dedicated to tuner and the professional customizers of the world (or popular world). And that's why doing what is being suggested as okay, is really counter-intuitive to the idea of doing the game like Ghost did.

I can understand that. I think I missed the fact that they are trying to be more SERIOUS in this one, hence putting real-life results to customization. It would be nice to have that V8 sound again regardless. For that to happen in this game, then they would have to add the real BMW M3 GTR with the correct 444+ bhp 4.0 V8 engine that they used in the Le Mans series. (which is the one NFS MW used as the base)

The reason why the M3 GTR in NFS MW was OP is because its air restrictor was off when Razor took the M3.

We are probably going to have the sound of the straight 6 unless we get a customisable option to have an engine swap or some sorts to retain the sound the V8. I don't see the point in them adding the actual M3 GTR when we can already replicate it.

It's completely the wrong sound for the wrong engine. The V8 sound might be there, but the game is still simulating an i6. HP, torque power band etc will still be the same, which makes it all even more wrong.

Engine swap or nothing I say.

I was expecting the Porsche Cayman GT4 to be in but it is nice to see it is a guaranteed feature! The Volvo and 570S are the most surprising appearances. Keep the goods rolling in, EA! 👍

*waits for the Ford Fiesta ST announcement patiently*
