1.Manual will be added as DLC later (all DLC is going to be free, so don't start bitching)
2. It's Need for Speed. They tried something new, and it's a bit quirky. Pretty sure in the coming updates it will be addressed.
3. Answered your own concern... from dusk til dawn. That's it.
4. Good point... however NFS has been leanimg towards tacky filters, excess action shots, etc. They want it to be like a movie that you have full control of. Kinda like the Uncharted series (as an idea, not comparing two differenr genres here)
5. Never had a cockpit view for Underground, Underground 2, Hot Pursuit, Hot Pursuit "2", World, The Run etc. The only NFS I remember having cockpit was NFS Porsche Unleashed. It's just the way the franchise has been.

If you're not satisfied with it return it.. when you bought the game, you fully understood it's NFS (no need to even mention handling/realism), and it's EA, known for poor servers and poor management in release.

Personally, the biggest gripe I've had with it is the constant calls. Not only does your.crew call you all the time, but the dialogue just keeps repeating itself if you didn't do X drift event or Y race against Spike, etc.

Ok after a 3 or so hours I have changed my mind on the handling, turned off a few settings and cornering isn't an issue now (suggest turning off brake assist or what it's called and drift stabilty makes a huge difference)

Also I now know why they don't have Manual got no buttons to use lol they are taken up with enter race and answer phone call, but Manual DLC seems like a cop out that it wasn't in the game to start with.

So yeah it's growing on me, a few more hours I think I'll have to eat my words (somewhat) I do agree with the phone calls, they are too many while you can ignore and they leave a message and race location it's still silly that if you fail and event with say manu and restart it but get a phone call while repeating the race that is basically a you lost you suck kind of phone call.

The AI in this game makes GT's AI look like a bunch of vehicular Einsteins. I'm blown away by how poor their spatial awareness is, and how much the game relies on rubber-banding. Just did a touge race in my NA, and routinely had the pack fly by me on the straights... then wait at the next corner.

This is the main thing stopping me from getting this game, everything else is fairly tolerable (I can deal with auto if it's an arcade style game). Almost everything else has at least a chance of be fixed, but they are never going to fix this AI since it's probably too much work and the game would be too easy without rubber banding. I'm really on the fence about this game at the moment, it looks fun but so.... so bad at the same time

Anyone notice tonight that if you were still for 20 seconds the camera would start to rotate around the car? It only happened for about an hour.

It no longer rotates around the car.

Its a good game, it isnt great but to be honest Im just glad to see a game in this style that plays relatively well.

The Trueno is absolutely beautiful.

Played the game for a few days so I might as well share my thoughts.

To me, this feels like a game that was designed as one thing and then forced to be made into something else. I don't doubt Ghost put effort in to try and make a good game, because it shows. It's just I'm not quite sure they really have spent two years developing it; more likely they started two years ago, made some steady progress, but then EA pushed them (as per usual) to get it out of the door, hence some of the stranger or rushed design choices.

The customisation options they give you are amazing - so long as you have a car with a lot of parts available. This is part of why I think they had to rush it to make it an arguably complete product. Granted, they heavily imply they're going to add some extra stuff in as time progresses, so hopefully this issue will have gone eventually.

I find the wrap editor very finicky. It's quite hard to match up colours, sizes and decal areas so you're never sure if everything exactly meets up. The choice of decals and colours are impressive though, so there's definitely potential in later games.

I too dislike the strange 'crabwalk' that you get coming out of a slide. You kind of get it used to it, but its still irritating since it can screw up your race. I initially thought I tuned my car wrong, but even fiddling around with that didn't help. Also, setting your car up for grip is pointless - just understeers and is remarkably slower than drifting around corners instead.

Cops are pretty non-event in this game. I appreciate the more realistic approach of just having Crown Vics and Chargers as regular PCs, and it certainly is a nice break from having near military levels of enforcement and Koenigseggs chucking spike strips at you like in recent NFS efforts. Unfortunately, they aren't very intuitive and you lose them far too easily. This makes Outlaw events a lot more of a chore, something even the designers were aware of since it seems to be the shortest story arc in the game by a mile.

Good stuff now; surprisingly, I've grown to understand why they give you a 5 car garage. This is honestly the first game I've ever played where you get the feeling you've properly built a car to your liking, rather than just having a bunch and picking and choosing them when you need it. I only have three cars, and to be honest I don't see any reason to get any others. It'd be cool to see what else you can build but how often would you use them? My problem with games like Forza and GT is they give you so much choice, you have a lot of cars you rarely use and then they just sit because you have a handful of go-to cars for any of your events. With this, you have to plan how you want to spend your money and what kind of set-up you want to use it for.

I actually like the cutscenes as well. The 'helladudebro' attitude kind of catches you off guard at first, but it does seem to ease up pretty quickly. The characters are actually quite amusing at times, and you do get a sense you're actually out just having fun with them. No dramatic 'I'M THE BEST RACER IN THIS CITY' storyline or any real twists or turns either. It's all pretty laid back. I like how they've still stuck with a silent, nameless, faceless protagonist, just like in every other street racing game ever. How someone could get that far without opening their mouth is ridiculous. Even one or two of the other characters lampshade it.

All in all, I'd say its a pretty solid effort. Again, a few of the choices which have been mentioned about a million times already are downright stupid, but the majority of that could be patched over. I hope EA doesn't do a bait and switch with developers again, because it definitely shows potential. 👍

I agree with everything in this post. I played a bit of it on a gamestop. And i did a race with the brz ( it was completely drift-itized) and i had a lot of fun doing the race. The graphics looked insane and only doing one race made me want to play more. All i got to say is that i cant wait to pick up this game during the holidays and hope to support it post-launch to make it a better game. Well done ghost games and EA 👍👍

And my hat goes off to you sir

I wouldn't count on all "free"
I bet they would say oh can do a "time savers" pack for 3.99 (With Manual)
Or something else like Ferrari pack for 5.99 and something like how all other NFS games were.

They have been already said in the FAQ and on twitter that no new content will have a price tag on it.

They're not planning on paid DLC, and there are not going to be any microtransactions.

EDIT

Tree'd.

All right, Amy's "Component Parts" race is positively evil.

In practice it's fairly simple; you get a suitably fast car (boosted Lamborghinis comes in handy). Then you just maintain as much speed as possible, and let nothing past you on the off-ramp to the finish. Oh, and restart the race until you get a grid of opponent 911s and Corvettes.

You shouldn't have to do that.

Just use Magnus Walker's '277' then it should be fairly easy even with the Lamborghini opponents.

This. So much this. Ghost has really done a good job with the game, it'd be an utter waste and shame if they left all the issues hanging. All the problems with the game can be addressed with various patches, and I'll say it again, I really hope that Ghost keeps supporting the game and evolves it in a similar fashion to Rockstar and how they treat GTA Online.

Ghost, if you're reading this, keep up the pace and don't let the hate get y'all down. We all drink a can of Monster Energy for you guys.

P.S.: Oh, and in regards to that "Component Parts" race... Yeah, I feel your pain, guys. I've won it with the Deluxe Edition M3, but not without any problems.

EDIT: I've at last completed the career 100%! My main car in the final parts of the career was the Nissan GT-R R35. That car is a BEAST!

So I've played this for 10 hours and I am enjoying it so far, the driving at the beginning certainly was bad, but as I tuned my car it got WAY better, even though it sometimes does weird stuff, but when it works like you want (say 3/4 of the times) if feels so good.

The tuning is great, since I have 0 plans to buy an exotic, other than a 991 (which I just found has 0 parts). Altough I'd like a bigger selection of rims.

PSA: Upgrade your tires as soon as you can!

I mentioned I went through the game easily with an Impreza right?

Doing one of the last races with Ken Block. A 9 mile drift trial. I crossed the line with over a second left, but the timer continues after you do. So I got a "timedout" stamp on my finish, because apparently finish lines aren't actually finish lines.

Point 5 is false, if you actually research the history of NFS you'll see NFS 1 2 3 4 5 all had cockpit views. I'm not going to bother posting pics of it, just do a google search and see for yourself.

Point 1 is misleading, you are assuming manual dlc will be in place just because they said that dlc is coming to the game. Spreading false hope is really a bad idea. Assume that what you bought is what you get. Trust me on this, its a better way to shop.

As for "It's NFS" I'm sorry that's not a good argument. Because NFS is a franchise that exists in various aspects of the racing genre, NFS is also a franchise that still is trying to figure out what it wants to be. Saying "Well its NFS" is not really a good way to look at a new NFS game. I think everyone here who saw it announced had some idea of what to expect, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't voice our opinion on what we don't like about the games.

Sadly NFS 2015 looks like a miss for me, sorry I'll stick to playing the crew.

2 Days into the game, here's my opinion...

It's clear that this game has been rushed, many things that would have made this game great have been left out, one reason for that is I believe EA pressured Ghost to build the game as quick as possible which is not a surprise anymore, they appear to be doing this to all their games.

At first appearance you can say that it's a reboot of NFSU1, NFSU2, NFS Carbon with glowing streets, tuner cars and arcade like driving. Yes it has ton of customization, good choice of tuner cars and cringe worthy story but all that don't matter when you have left out aspects of the game that made previous Underground games great.

I mean I loved NFSU1, 2, Carbon and Most Wanted anything after that was just another track race game, bland and boring with no real objective. I'll point out what made those games so great and what EA failed to capture in this game.

MISSING
- Customizable speedometer
- Multiple shops (Car Lot, Body shop, Graphic Shop, Performance Shop and Car Specialties Shop)
- Drag race mode
- Test Cars before you buy
- Neon Lights
- Nitrous Purge ( http://i.ytimg.com/vi/vQYqSilixeU/maxresdefault.jpg)
- Customizable interior trunk (Subwoofers, Nos, Tv etc)
- Door, Hood, Boot customization (http://carsmedia.ign.com/cars/image/008_NFSU2_350Z_1085095855.jpg)

What they should have taken from Carbon, recruit member/players and assign roles and use them to your advantage in races, this would've been great because the game is now Multiplayer.

ROLES
>Blocker - Blockers take out a targeted vehicle of an opponent by ramming and forcing them to stop. Only one rival can be blocked at one time.

>Drafter - The role of a Drafter is to give their crew member more speed by letting them slipstream off of them. It is exactly like slipstreaming albeit in a more exaggerated form.

>Scout - Scouts locate shortcuts along a track. They are highlighted on the minimap by green lines.

Worst of all is that they made it 2-8 Multiplayer, makes no sense cos the game is online only, why limit it to 8 players?

It's as if EA released half finished game and now saying "we'll add that in next update", why not extend release date another 6 months.

I'll play the game regardless only because it's first next gen NFS that actually has great customization.

So, are you guys saying this game is supposed to be the culmination of all the NFS games, well the best parts of them? Why don't you guys take the game for what it is. It's a fun arcade game when I don't feel like dealing with Project CARS.

I can race with friends under the crew aspect. It just takes a few tries..

After testing, and I'm sure it's already been brought up. The car turning by itself has become my number one complaint. I don't need a game trying to caculate what's going on with my steering input.

Gee, you're right, what Arcade games have ever used a wheel!

...need I go on? A wheel adds a good bit of fun to a good arcade racer.
Thkey word is need yku dont NEED a wheel unlike a sim for realisim you may need one i am specifiically talking about in a home console.

Again I have to change my words, this game has great pit falls, me and a few other PSN friends just get any further like I have literally brought every car in the game, upgraded engine to the max and can't get past like 4 "missions" from stupid AI causing horrific crashes to them just fking off into the distance I am level 38 I think and Ferraris, lambos and skylines can not for the life of them get into first ( or it is for a moment a sigh of relief then AI or NPC ruin the day) it's rather pathetic really I don't want the game to be easy but when your in a hurariririrue lambos with like 900hp and an 2015 model mustang just dominates the race it's stupid

It's an option. No one is stopping you from saying no.

Play the game your own way, and let others play their own way.

Exactly what race is this? Only recalling the Component Parts race being fairly difficult but the others were quite manageable if you are in a fast supercar.

That Component Parts was indeed one of them, can't think of the other race names, it was an magnus race (used a R34, a ferrari, used both lambos, R35, WRx the list goes on...

Don't get me wrong I did enjoy and hate this game equally but ultimatly I can't be rooted to try and fail countless times on a side note replaying events I leveled up on failing alone.
