That's one of those games that just kind of fall off my radar, I mean I knew about it it, I just had other things going on. Being an EVE player can be very time consuming =p

Get it NOW! :P I just got it late last year and I wished I would've gotten it sooner when online was still active. You can get it for peanuts now so you've got nothing to lose, and story mode is quite short so you can get all the cars pretty quickly 👍 Trust me it'll be your new yardstick for what an open world driving game could be.

To get back onto NFS. I am just praying they pay special attention to the engine audio once again, I used to love how good cars sounded in NFS2/Carbon/MW and even though to me it wasn't NFS, both Shift 1 + 2 had some awesome engine audio.

I dunno about you guys, but for me, it makes or breaks a racing game more than the actual gameplay, if cars sound like ass, I refuse to play it, hence why I played GT5/GT6 for about an hour before i traded it in AND my ps3/360 and got a Xbox 1 so I could play Forza 5, then Forza Hoirzon 2 as I loved FH1/FM4 and FM3 for a very big reason, Forza games to this day, for me, remain the best and most incredible quality for engine audio in any game i've played covering so many vehicles and it's fantastic.

Any way back on point, it seems like NFS:2015 is going to have the RTR-Spec 5 Mustang in it, at least, according to this screenshot:
latest

So in that case I hope Ghost Games have been listening to this car and to go and record it! Listen to this thing...it sound absolutely incredible and yes that is the RTR Spec 5 we can mainly hear! 30 second in and from 1:45 onwards especially, incredible

Eargasmic!

Eargasmic!

I think Ghost have the sound department sorted. Proof:

Blackbox had the sound sorted out 12 years ago. :P
True, even MW & Carbon and spot on engine sounds

Except Rivals was made with the Help of Criterion Games... So im guessing many of the sounds of NFS Most Wanted 2012 were recycled for Rivals...

That may be, geuss we'll have to wait until we hear some in-game footage to see (or hear) what the sounds or like...

Ugh, need for speed rivals, what an aweful game lol. Some note worthy points:

The enzo sounds nothing like that in a tunnel, completely muted and dull sound.
The mustang is also not the best quality sound, again, pretty dull sound
The E92 is better, at least they actually sound like they recorded the correct car sound lol
Veneno sound...nope, where the heck is the brutal exhaust crackle?
Lambos, have always sounded the same copy and paste in NFS titles.

Overall, need for speed has gone REALLY down hill in this department, I mean, Turn10 and playground games have SHOT ahead in audio quality, this one is brilliant example of the quality!:

Not saying all 300 cars in the game are all equally as awesome, but the majority of cars in FH2 and Forza 5 are far and above the quality of ghost games recently, and sound fantastic.

I hope NFS:2015 matches to quality of the Underground and Carbon series, especially when it came to changing the sound of the engine/exhaust with the upgradse applied.

I will admit FH2 "flame" pop sound is terrible, and completely wrong lol xD. But at least in teh case of the Jag F type they even managed to include the exhaust burble and crackle, same with the Huracan.

Dont get me wrong here, but NFS Most Wanted [2012] has spot on engine sounds.. Criterion Games did a great job on sound design..

But it seems Ghost Games, somehow made the car sounds sound awful.. Something they did in the sound design drowned the "car noise"... Tbh i was never impressed with Ghost Games...

@TheKittten Agreed! The cobra at the start is great opening example but in game suffered obviously from no manuel trans and ofc the car not revving high enough lol.

Forgot about NFS:MW 12 in a way just because of the issues with it but I do agree, Criterion did a brilliant job with MW12 and nailed so many, rivaling T10 for sure then, that is a great video featuring wow, overall, spot on 99-100% comparison, dat ZR1 is incredible too.

OH OH OH, this was one of my favourite things to do in the game and wish more games had this lol, it was so much fun: Plus again, demonstrating great audio quality:

My video from years back lol, ah memories, haven't used that account in years hate to think what else is on it ha.

Wasn't the SLS in Most Wanted turbocharged?

And the Charger had ridiculous supercharger whine. As in, you could barely here the engine. At all.

The last patch of MW12 screwed up the sounds.. And made the ZR1, and SLS have a BOV Sound O.o...

I agree

Yeah they dun screwed it up with that patch haha, but yeah wow...I forgot how authentic NFS:MW 12 sounds were, just as good as T10s at the time, some even sound like they literally just remastered the sounds in real life comparison videos lol.

Ahhh...men (and women) can dream I suppose...we can only hope we get engine audio anywhere near as good as Forza345/H1/2, MW12, and older NFS titles...although, according to some things I read it looks like certain things to influence the sounds of the cars and if they are working with speedhunters this time around again the surely, SURELY they are going to put a proper focus on it!

Might as well say, Codemasters does a good job too...

It does actually, yeah, was gonna say DIRT games too have good audio as well.

Enough great examples our there, but plenty of terrible examples too...for which I fear EA will slip into, but hopefully...ghost get it together this time around and really put effort into each of the, maybe 40 or 50 cars or so.

I'm sure that might be due to the overall design of the game. AFAIR, HP2010's (which is very similar to Rivals) car sounds weren't very bold either and that game was developed by Criterion.

Yes, I am still overly positive about how the game might turn out.

New trailer incoming according to official NFS facebook page. It seems it's gonna be a first look at customization (look at the comments)

https://m.facebook.com/needforspeed?_rdr

Yeah we already knew about this, the first trailer they said they will reveal will be of customization, it says so on the website too and has done since the game reveal: https://needforspeed.ea.com/en_GB/

"Full reveal on 6.15.15 with the first look at customisation"

I for one will be judging the game entirely on this, but I feel it's going to just be a copy and paste of what's available in NFS:No Limits...which isn't much, far too many pre made "kits" and not enough individual parts choosing, but maybe I am wrong...but this is EA, anywhere they can save resources, they will.

Here is what to expect in the trailer, No Limits Viper customization options:

Two options for lights...lol.

Also, it doesn't look like you can mix and match front and rear bumpers, and from black panthaas playthrough of the mustang, almost confirms this, hood options seem a bit scarce too...for a muscle car i want exposed throttle bodies like on the charge and other cars.

I bet you, hands down, that NFS:2015 customization trailer will be 90% similar to no limits "selection" of parts, which to me, is still seriously lacking.

Doesn't even look like you can pick and choose exhausts either, or the camber or tuning options, certainly no dyno.

My expectations a MEGA, MEGA LOW for NFS15 after everything I'm hearing, I'll need to be seriously impressed.
