That doesn't make any sense.... can you expand on that instead of just reporting a discovery you didn't investigate?
I am telling you the truth, I can't set the nitrous button to X anymore or the handbrake to the default button if I don't remove my savefile. :(

Wait. What did the game even say?

Back up your save, and then try changing the controls.
Dude I did a copy of my save file of course. I tried several times to change the layout but for some reason after you set the X button, circle button, triangle button and the other button to other things it's impossible to go back to default. Like I said in my previous post the only fix for this is to start new, that way I have the default controls but I'm not going to sacrifice a +100hours save file for this.

I talked with some EA guys on the live chat and he said that he is going to redirect the case to a game specialist, I even tried to offer a copy of my save file but for some reason their support page doesn't allow me to post the most important files that they need so i'm screwed.

Yeah, because it's completely normal to have to delete your save game if you happen to make a mistake there...

Then don't complain if you're the one who set that.

The thing is I did the exact same thing when I started the game and the only way to fix it was restarting the game like I said (in that time I didn't had any progress) but you know I am using R2 way too much and because of that the button is almost stuck that's why I changed the controls.
The only thing that bothers me is that NFS Hot Pursuit had an option to reset controls, anyway I will wait for the game specialist help or for a patch to fix this otherwise I will have to get used to it.

This will keep you playing the game much longer.

I checked the link when you posted it above, but I am not a fan of time trials in arcade games since it's not about driving skill but rather about having luck with random triggers like traffic, and in this case, having luck with e.g. drifts that don't end up in a crash costing you several seconds. It's why I'm not too bothered with the autolog highscores either, though I seem pretty good compared to my friends looking back at these lists in general.

There's no Fiesta in the game. You are thinking of the Focus ST. If you page thru your Driver Details it tells you that winning a couple Speedlist events in any Ford, so come in first place, unlocks it.

Now the Charger SRT8 is a Slim Jim promotion. Buy a Slim Jim product, eat it & get the code off it. That is if you're in America.

Oh, right, I keep switching the model names on accident, sorry for the confusion. Thanks for the tips, I'll re-check my driver detail stats and see if I find it there.

About the Charger, thanks as well, found what you said out after some googling earlier today, seems I won't get it then since I'm in Europe. I don't mind it that much though. If the Viper '13 was promo only I'd rather be worried... :)

Drifting needs luck?? Nope, it doesn't, it just needs skill. If you think it needs luck, you're not going to be competetive in TTs.

I will be doing this EOTW as well, when I've got the time. As of late I get a half hour a day and thats it, blame work and GCSEs.

Can anyone advise me as to whether it's worth getting?

As far as I can tell, there's less actual visual customisation, more tinkering to do with stats represented on bars. The handling is like HP3 (not to my taste, much prefered the old NFS MW handling, or the clean crisp feel of GT5), and it's a cross between Burnout Paradise and the old MW.

Not particularly promising? I mean Paradise worked, but only since it was Burnout, and this clearly isn't. I found HP3 frustratingly repetitive and boring to play, so is this much the same?

You probably won't like it.

Sometimes the cars just lock up & understeer when I try to drift. Pisses me off. :grumpy:

Oh. Then forget what I said earlier. Why didn't you just fix the controller instead? If it's stuck, clean it out, if it's not that, you may have damaged the hinge at which point, you made as well invest in a new controller or fix the hinge itself.

You have no idea how wrong you are.

The only luck factor in races is traffic not showing up where you want it least...everything else is down to your nitrous management, lines and your braking technique. Drifts are absolutely in your control; you tell the car to start a drift, continue a drift, and stop a drift. I don't know what kind of game you're playing if the drift triggers randomly. "Drifts that end in a crash" as you put it ever so vaguely means you drove into upcoming traffic or into a wall, none of which are the car's fault. Don't forget; you control the car.

As for pursuits, this is where more luck will occur. While there's that, there are however tricks to losing the cops faster, and it's up to you whether or not you want to use it. This is not luck.

Care to disagree?

Sometimes the cars just lock up & understeer when I try to drift.

I get that too, but I think thats because of several reasons:
-Didn't hold the brakes long enough. The higher your Control stat, the less you need to brake to initiate a drift. Sometimes I double tap the brakes for heavier cars.
-Didn't let go of the accelerator when e-braking, or if you get back on the gas before the back end kicks out.
-Didn't exit one drift to enter one in the opposite direction... I had this a lot for the current EOTW. It's sort of the same as it was in HP3.

I got the Vette & Viper doing switch backs fine but that corner before the jump is where I just effe up. I either make it flawlessly, take it to wide & clip the wall, have the back end wash out & fish tail or just understeer thru the dirt. When I make it flawlessly is when the game usually plops a traffic car there for me to hit.

This game drifts cars just like HP3 but without the insane speed boost going out of the drift. The cars actually lose speed drifting in this game.

Also did you notice that when you use the Recommends tab in the Map to start races it gives you a Drift stat? So far all the cars for Red Shift have crappy drift stats.

I noted that a while back, I think it might describe how tight of a drift arc the car takes naturally. I really doubt it's how easy it is to break loose, because I can get shallow drifting with the SL.

It's so wierd to use nos with R3 and handbrake with R3 up lol. Sometimes I just want to use nos to win the speedtest and by mistake I handbrake the car.

I BARELY got this on friday since the majority say it's not worth 60 bucks but cheaper.

Also got the Charger DLC.

So far the game is fun and single player is a breeze and multiplayer is where the game really shines.

So now the question is, when's the DLC coming out?

Game hasn't been out for a month yet. Way too soon to be talking DLC, regardless if other games do it.

unless you are already bored with the games and would like more places to discover and more cars to drive

Agera jumps the furthest. I can clear the warehouse at the airfield with it. I also had it land & just backflip from the force of the landing.

Haven't bought a NFS game on release since Underground 2... I'm not sure I'm going to like this one either.....

Even without DLC, I'm still having a blast with this game and not feeling bored at all. I'm simply in love with it, because its fun. I'm highly okay to wait for some DLC to be released to us at some point. :sly:

I'm happy with the car selection but were there more cars in Hot Pursuit?
There were a ton of Lamborghini's right??
Anyway, I would like a few more BMWs and maybe some cool 4x4s / SUVs....

Any predictions? I'm sure Criterion will add cops to multi player at some point.

That's another wicken time easily beaten. :p
Oh, I didn't bother making some extreme times hard to beat. My objective was just getting all the cars with pro mods and beating your records while doing that :sly:
