I wonder will cop cars have customization. Also there should be a walk of shame thing if you use a Sports tier car and beat a Hyper class. Also will there be private lobbies?

Says there won't be any lobbies. They might have some thing where you can find random people, your friends, or just play on your own. I would hope so, anyway.

It says race with friends. So I am guessing no random people. Would help on the rammers. :lol:
 
It'll probably be like Borderlands. You can set your game to open, friends only, invite only or offline mode.
 
They also said that the offline/online is streamless so there is really no point I guess in single player. (I dont think)

Just did a segment on Rivals. Looks well, Looks like a HP merged with the Cross Platform of Tablets. :/ But looks like the online deal maybe can do 12 online from what I saw.

I think 12 player online is only PC & next gen. Current gen will have 8 player. Also someone video this bitch up I wants to see. ^_^
 
Just like TJ13 said, it looks like Hot Pursuit (2010) with the Tablet. Even some parts of the road and environments look like they were taken out of HP.
 
Love the Overwatch feature for pursuits, choice in location for helicopter, spike strip etc



But loving the live action footage for the film!!!

And it starts...

Either we get a game that's similar & everyone complains that it's just like the last one or we get something new & everyone complains that it sucks & want something like the last game. All we saw is one section of the map. All we know there might be a town in one part of it with grid like roads. HP 2010 was just open opens with very few intersections. Rivals seem to not have roads that go on for miles before an intersection.

I do like the singleplayer & multiplayer being one. You can so troll your friends when you crash their race with a squad of cop cars. :lol:
 
I was disgusted by HP2010, the retarded drift physics and extreme understeering killed it for me. A few observations from the new Rivals video:

- It looks like cars have more weight to them, and even though they were drifting through turns, it seems that you are not forced to do so, so cars will not ridiculously understeer.

- It was raining during the race, yet the screen wipers were not working...it is 2013, or does Frostbite 3 not support that feature?

- I'm suspicious manual transmission is out AGAIN.

I'm want to see more of Rivals but I'm also waiting to see Driveclub, it has the potential to be the classic NFS's (1-6) spiritual successor.
 
Found this in the gameplay video, it has a decent car list so far.

Drifting looks like The Run to me, which was very good. I'm impressed.
