Starting with Need for Speed: Rivals, Ghost Games will oversee all things Need for Speed, while Criterion will move on to another, yet-to-be-announced title.

"Ghost is now leading Need for Speed and there will certainly be some announcements about how that will evolve and work in the near future," Marcus Nilsson, executive producer on the game, told Polygon. "Criterion is doing something else, but that doesn't mean they can't help us on this."

The Cop video also confirmed that the McLaren P1 is available to both the Racer and the Cop careers.
 
Watched some of the Racer footage, its going to be a long wait until Nov!
I love how the cars build up dirt and fall apart.
Do you guys find that watching the videos spoil the game a little. Im always
on the fence if i should watch or not!
From the HUD it looks like the PS4 build but im sure its still running on PCs.

DONT EVER SCARE ME LIKE THAT AGAIN. Guys the P1 is still racer exclusive its just that was a black P1. Remember the only car playing double duty is the Aston Martin Vanquish. Its seems some have forgotten Hot Pursuit made the dreadful mistake of having cars on both sides of le law creating underused/underpowered cars.

Remember balance will make or break this game. Rivals shall not be a GT2/ACR/F1 fest again,with the drivers of those whips thinking they're a decent driver. Stop.
 
Upcoming racing game Need for Speed: Rivals outputs at 30 frames per second across all platforms, Ghost has confirmed to Eurogamer.

Ghost founder and Rivals executive producer Marcus Nilsson said the development team opted to target 30fps instead of 60fps because of the racing game's new AllDrive feature.

Well DriveClub runs at 30fps too...

Honestly, 30fps is OK as long as it's stable. As long as it doesn't lag when the screen is busy then it should be fine.

Certain parts of the gameplay from the Gamescom on-stage demo have a very "The Run" look and feel about them.

If you look at 2:05 of the video, the whole desert scene and the way the Porsche 911 takes the bend just gives me horrible flashbacks of The Run.

Maybe I'm being a bit paranoid but I've been dissapointed by NFS too many times in the past!

Also, does anyone else find Marcus Nilsson awkward and hard to watch? ... I cringe everytime I see him present anything on stage ... he's like a Swedish version of Borat or something!!

I see you found my post aswell, that's the car list that one of Ghost Games dev leaked. So far before/after Gamescom the list is legit but there are some very minor mistakes there such as: how the cars are distributed between cops and racers.
Let me give you some examples: before Gamescom in the list it had the Porsche 981 Cayman S as a Cop but now it belongs to Racers; the Lamborghini Veneno, SRT Viper TA and the BMW M3 GTS weren't there; both the Ferrari 458, Chevrolet Stingray C7 and the Ferrari FF were in their correct position; both Dodge's were Cop vehicles but the Challenger SRT8 got confirmed a few days ago that it belongs to Racers.

And the Zenvo is a racer according to the list. They better give me a good cop car I'll use a lot otherwise I'll go AWOL and assign myself to the racers.

I have a feeling that the cars are badly distributed between each career so we are going to see a massive change until we confirm their existance in game, currently according to the list the Racers have 36 cars while the Cops have 29 cars which gives us a total of 65 cars. Something is not right there so definately expect some cars to change their position, don't worry I will keep updating the list until release.

Been a feature in recent NFSs, would be a shame to lose it.

I'll only listen to the soundtrack if it's any good - look at The Run, not Most Wanted where I began hearing it's songs on the radio weeks after release.

I have a hard time believing they are going to have a Cadillac XTS in there, I'm not sure about the Range Rover and the Subaru BRZ seems to me like it'll be a little underpowered. Apart from that, I think the car list would be pretty believable.

they did say that there would be about 60-70 cars on release. so that 65 car list is about accurate. Although they may change but the list is pretty much full. (until some paid dlc comes out)

XTS seems unrealistic since Caddy have said no to a dedicated XTS-V... would rather have the CTS-V Coupe or even the estate... could be teamed with the new Audi RS4 :sly:

Range Rover would have to be the Sport.

Toyobaru would be ideal to compete with the hot-hatches (Most Wanted's "Everyday" cars) etc.
 
I have gotten every title since Underground 2 (except Shift 2) but I don't think I will get this title because I haven't liked Shift and every other title after that and I don't hold much hope this game will be any better, plus I think I will have my hands full with the release of GT6 coming. I am kind of a 2nd generation freak, I mainly favor titles spanning from Underground - Undercover, any beyond that just don't amuse me. Just my opinion. ;)
 
I find the car structure most distasteful. Every car in the game should be available to racers at least. Especially since some of my favorite cars ended up on the Cop side (including the Taurus SHO again. When'll we get a civillian version of that?)

Better that than the game becoming NFS(Insert OP car here) Rivals.

P.S. Stop shoving down people throats your're anti brony, makes you look like at a hypocrite.
 
I'm going to reserve judgement on the car list until we get full confirmation. Until then, I'll continue to question the authenticity of the leaked list with cars like the M4 (production-ready concept only revealed a couple weeks ago, full production car for Frankfurt before sales in 2014) and the Aventador 'SV'.

That had more to do with how certain cars were tuned than anything else. The SL65 was too good on both sides, it probably should have had weaker nitrous and less responsive handling to cancel out its size and speed. The Viper, I don't know. Mess up the handling and make it like a faster Supersnake? The F1's nitrous was too strong, though I think it was much less effective as a cop car.

I guess there's always the "unmarked car" option for getting a stock looking Viper GTS.
