After playing the demo do you think you will...

Come on Jai you didn't really expect HP to be realistic did you? Well I did because its a modern game with real cars. But the cars handled like Mario Kart. The Run is less ridiculous they feel less like karts and just like typical arcade handling. The boulders really added to the challenge and the use of brakes.

As much I love and know the drifting mechanics in HP3... the Run's awkward physics are actually more enjoyable because it's not as static and braindead as HP3's...

Also, this might help you guys out:

On the second track in the demo, did anybody else have an eyeblow when leaving the white powder and flying into the glowing orange tunnel? It really hurt my eyes due to them being used to the colour white..

Nope... I was playing in the dark too so any bright flashes would have been even more harsh on the eyes..

I will skip it. Last year's game is a good arcade racer and I don't need this one.
Same here. Hot Pursuit simply better in every way. However, if I got it for dirt cheap, I would probably run through it since it was fun enough. So if it is very short, that's almost a good thing.

that is silly... I saw that aswell.
But why on earth would you want to use a wheel with an arcade-game? These kind of games are specifically geared towards folks that want to kickstart a casual driving game lying in the sofa with no hazzle.

Let me just say this now, unless it's Shift, you're better off playing any of the NFS titles with a wing controller, as they were developed with said controllers in mind and no consideration was really made for wheels.

Even since Underground Ive been able to play with a wheel and shift gears manualy with a wheel... I had a great time playing Midnight club LA, TDU2, Undercover, Carbon with a wheel even though I enjoy Racing games (simish) more... most of the above arcade games have better physcs and handling than Grid did and I never read anyone saying that Grid shouldnt be played with a wheel.

I also didnt buy HP3 because you cant shift manual with a wheel... call me crazy but to me its part of the imersion...

Ugh, on almost every NFSTR video on YouTube there are people begging for Underground 3.. I think we know by now that EA aren't in the will to make it..

I think they might be saving that one for next gen consoles...

Really? You wanted this for the handling?

No, not at all. I was expecting (and hoping) for arcade physics, because that's what NFS is like. Personally, however, I don't think they are very good arcade physics - I prefer the feel of other arcade racing games to this one. Sorry for not being too clear in my post. :)

The fact that the camera moves all over the place makes it feel like the car behaves ambiguously through corners....

That's exactly what I was trying to say.

FYI, Underground 3 has been under development for quite some time.. someone with a source posted it a while back in some other forum, though I never confirmed it because I didn't care enough.

Tbh I wasn't a fan of the Underground Series at all - I was a huge fan of all the police chases and everything. So I played HP2 instead of U2 until I got MW

I still love HP2 with all my heart.

Saw that there was an added poll... to the masses: don't buy this game. You won't enjoy the game enough to be playing it for a long time... to enjoy this game, you have to have a competitive edge and willingness to adapt to its physics, boost mechanics and other feats that made this game what it is.. however obscure and stupid they may be.

AOS no offense but just because you dont enjoy it doesent mean others wont thats pretty high and mighty of u to assume that everyone will not enjoy it especially from a Demo. things can be fixed from the demo

No offense taken. You want to know why? Because I DO like this game.... :P

I'm serious about becoming good at this game..... and after reading everyone's comments about this game and HP3's, I already have the feeling this game isn't for most people here on GTP. Am I wrong about that?

And that turned out to be The Run.

lol your funny

I haven't played it. Probably never will. But as far as I can tell, the gameplay and physics are looking really awful, not to mention the storyline.

:yuck:

I'd love another Most Wanted or Underground 3 even though I'm not in a million years into ricing.

Oh btw, it's been discovered that you can take corners faster if you wallride the hairpins.... :P

All the people who know it have set times between 2:15-2:24 on Desert Hills... NFSCoulter's a troll telling us to keep punching the nitrous every 2 seconds, because you can't possibly set a 2:19 with said method... In his demo run, he sets a 2:34 with one wreck, but he also refused to reveal his "secret"... everyone knows it now, and those who do have kept their mouths shut..

And here I am exposing it, because I'm so nice.
;)

Not trying to be rude in any way, but why are you getting so competitive over demo race times? :odd:...

It's not even worth setting a competitive time if I'm honest.. There is no true skill in an Arcade game.. I managed a decent time, however I'm not ready to bother trying again or getting all fussed up about being the fastest on my list.
