Is there a track that hates you? A track that no matter how many laps you do still beats you? Sees you coming and somehow changes the geometry of its corners each time?

I mean, some tracks take longer to learn than others. I used to dislike (and was rubbish at) Suzuka but I was getting to grips with it then it finally clicked with the SF19 and now I love it, though Spoon still catches me out now and again. In fact the SF19 is a bit of a track tamer because I took it round Brands GP, another tricky one for me, and now I love it (luckily if next week’s dailies prediction is right!)

But b****y Interlagos!! A pox upon it. I’ve tried, I really have but I could fly to Brazil, walk round that track and STILL miss the apex in turn 1, go wide on those two stupid right handers in the middle of the track and overcook that last sharp corner trying to get a good run onto the last drag. Grr.

Please tell me I’m not alone in having that one track that hates you?
 
Le Mans with its divining rod penalty area's that most people can safely use but I can't. I find a mine every time, even when I copy an unpunished line.

Never found any real consistency on that track due to it.

Fuji, I dont know that the track hates me but I hate all those low speed corners in succession so much that I rarely race there.

Most of them, if my FIA qually pace is anything to go by.

Specifically Lago Maggiore reverse variants though. Races on those tracks are just not happening.
 
Willow Springs, Horse Thief Mile. Turn left at the cone, turn right at the cone.....hey where did that cone go?....

Also Tokyo Expressway East. Don't think I've ever had a good race there.

Fast, fast, fast ....turn ...fast, fast, faaaasst ...turn ....etc....

It's not a race track, it's a drag strip with corners .. to me anyway ! I don't even bother to try it in a race.
 
Granted, I haven't played online, but I'd say the ones I most struggle with based on CE and GT League:

Suzuka with any open wheeled vehicle. SF19, W08, F1500-A, doesn't matter. Suzuka is hard enough with regular cars, it is nigh impossible to maintain reasonable pace with the open wheelers.

Nurburgring Nordschliefe. I just have not been able to master it well enough to get gold on the CE.

Willow Springs Horse Thief Mile. Just hard with any car because of how short it is. Just little space to do anything more than follow the leader.
 
Fuji. Apexes are hard to see if they're even there at all. It's a sea of asphalt without any references. I refuse to turn cones on and driving in bumper cam feels like driving blind for half the track.
 
I was gonna say, all of em, compared to you guys' speed. I don't like Brands Hatch the most of the tracks on the game. I'm bad at the 2nd sector of Mt. Panorama. Really bad usually.
 
I feel like Red Bull Ring and Le Mans don't really count for me, as it's not my potential lack of skill, but just the wonky nature of the penalties/boundaries, so it doesn't seem like something PD can't somehow fix. Which is a shame because otherwise, they're fun to drive on, for me. Just not fun to race on at the moment. Otherwise, I'd say Tsukuba - no room to pass at all. But maybe it's just the most recent cars they've been putting us in recently on that course.
 
For me its Fuji im just garbage everytime I race that track.

Tracks im comfortable is Interlagos, Lemans, Redbull ring and Suzuka. Autopolis is also becoming a favourite mine.
 
Besides Nurburgring full or Type V which is its own version of hell...

I would say Suzuka which is all kinds of hell. I'm still #2 on the SF19 challenge and somehow made a #1 on the W08... you know why I dont like this track? Its because if I dont CONSTANTLY race on it, my skills go away.

If I hit it every damn day like I did in the W08 I end up doing 1'32" laps and then I git gud only by rote repetiton.

Few other tracks are like that... Bathurst, I hated for a long time but I can drop in an drop out and do GT3 sub 2'10" laps.

My Suzuka kung fu goes away as I dont drive on it.

A special mention goes to Willow Springs any format but I have been able to 'get used' to it.

Also VIR is all kinds of suck on Forza. Also COTA and Dubai.
 
Bathurst and St. Croix

I more or less learned to do consistent laps on all other circuits, but these two... damn

At Bathurst, i mostly fail the uphill/downhill section of it

At St. Croix, i always struggle to find the correct braking point at most of the turns. No matter how wide the track is, the speed you need to carry through it is lower than you might expect. Every time i race at Croix, it takes about 2 laps to learn the trajectory before i do somewhat consistent laps. Bloody hate this track

Special mention goes to turn 1 and 3 of Interlagos (i often overcook them for some reason, even when i think i've braked more than enough to make the corner) and the second, small Karrousel of Nordschleife, just before the uphill section leading to big straight (RWD cars always spin out on these, i take that corner with extreme caution)
 
Tokyo Expressway Central Loop, inner or outer variants, doesn't matter because I don't get anywhere near this track at all, its a DR and SR killer for me because I can never quite get the racing line until at least 5 laps down and by them I already have like 10 seconds of penalties accumulated.
 
Laguna Seca in every game its on. since GT2 iv always been poor round it, and funnily enough the only section im fast in is the corkscew :S
 
Brands Hatch, Willow Springs, Interlagos, Dragon Trail-Seaside and Nurburgring 24h are number one, two, three, four and five respectively on my list of my least favorite tracks. I had extremely negative views on all of them.
 
I'm no good with reducing radius corners. I find Interlagos very hard and I don't feel like I've ever nailed the last part of Fuji!

However I do actually like Fuji, it just doesn't like me. And Interlagos (like a lot of things) has improved since I got a wheel!

No, your not alone :dopey:

For me it's Big Willow. I've always liked the track since it's inclusion in the series. But the last corner dislikes me with a vengeance :lol:. I can take it fine in traffic and at "race pace" on my own but you can guarantee in a TT or qualifying run I'll end up out in the desert every other lap :O

Based on recent couple of races I'd say Dragon Trail Seaside II. Also, I can't seem to click at Tokyo Central Outer.

But in general I'd say Suzuka, it's great to drive, I usually qualify well there but something tends to go wrong in the races for me.
 
Nordschleiff, though I've never really given that on a serious effort. Every time it comes up as a combo I just say "nope"

Based of my GTS course stats it seems Brands Hatch, Nurburgring GP are probably my worst in terms of average finishing position in sport mode.

Hatch I get, too narrow and I always end up going off. The Ring I am probably a lot better at now, I think my average is down from when I first got the game.

Big Willow used to be my Nemesis also, especially the last corner, I'd pray for a reset car button the moment my tyre touched the dirt! I've gone on some quite long dirt rallys on that course.
That corner also massively improved once I switched to a wheel, I actually like that corner now!
 
There's disliking and then there's just being bad at it.

I appreciate Suzuka, but not sure if it's because I use the D-pad so esses and subtly are tough for me or what but i am BOG slow. Just dreadfully slow. If i push a touch harder i fall off. i also find Brands very, very difficult. I am also horribly slow at Catalunya, like a full DR slower than i am rated, i am a high B and cannot race with mid C's, i get toasted.

Fuji is just plain atrocious, just a horrible track on all fronts.

I don't really count Alsace or St Croix as it;s like they don't exist in SPORT and i don't count reverse tracks because they are stupid to begin with.

OP mentioned Interlagos, i was hopeless there at first but figured it out. My best tracks, by miles, are NGP, Bathurst, Interlagos, Gardens and Tsukuba.

I would said the reverse tracks. What's the point of it ?

In real tracks, i really struggle with Big Willow. The racing line is like a train ready to get off his line. one wheel off the line and it's over. The last bend is just atrocious for me. Cool track for testing, but for racing, i shout NOPE.
 
I am diametrically opposed to Sainte Croix. It has nothing to do with my skill level. I just see it for what I feel it is - a failed project.

I truly believe PD wanted to add a ‘streets of France’ type city circuit, nice and tight like Rome or Hong Kong. but quickly realized it would be too narrow for Sport Mode. So they widened up the roads - except now, they don’t look like public roads anymore. So seemingly at random, it looks like a city circuit, or a real race track. But somehow fails at being either of them...

The worst offense is of course, 6 freaking layouts...WHY? The silver lining of this abortion of a track is that PD could pad the track list of GTS by adding 5 more totally unnecessary layouts. St. Croix reverse I could understand. But why make 2 more pointless assemblies, and reverse layouts of those? What even IS St. Croix? according to Circuit Experience, it’s layout “C” ... alright so I’ll learn that one then.... Yet literally every other layout is what GT League throws at you.

I digress. The fact that St. Croix is totally absent from Sport Mode just reaffirms and validates my opinions. It sucks, it’s a flop, it was a swing and a miss.
