Should GT5 Get Neon?

I want to put 24s on my 300C, that's all I want really.
👍

Like with other car games, we need the ability to change the size of the wheels in more ways than one. Obviously, I would think most people will agree this is more useful than neon in GT.

This will NEVER happen, the reasons are pretty clear.
Neon lights at night? Neon in Photo Mode? Livery Editor in GT?

The "reasons" aren't clear to everybody.

We still don't have a custom livery editor :grumpy: neons are anything but a priority right now sadly.

To be honest, I voted "Yes" thinking it was asking if I wanted it in GT. I don't see why it shouldn't ever be possible if we're going to be getting a Livery Editor, which is what "everybody" seems to want.

Priorities.

GT aims for realism (I'm not saying it's a sim), and realism related things.

The cosmetic aspect has never been a priority I'm GT. We can paint cars, select and paint wheels, add some aero kits and a spoiler.

For most GT fans, more realistic options (as body kits with downforce values and weight properties) are way more important.

If you want to go down the cosmetic route, Midnight Club is still a fun arcade game with tons of customisation options in that department.

The only Neon i care about is this one, please make it premium :D

Everything else is just unnecessary.

As mentioned briefly before, there is already a car in GT5 with neon on it. And that's more than enough.

In that case, how do people justify "needing" a Livery Editor? A Livery Editor kind of implies we'll get neon lights added to the game.

I can answer that. Forza has it. GT needs it.

We don't need either of them in a GT game. Why have PD waste their time on one of the most wanted features. I think you guys aren't looking at the big picture. Majority want a Livery Editor, something that definitely isn't needed. Majority don't want neon lights even though it seems likely that a Livery Editor would bring something like that.

I'd love to buy FM4, but will never use the Livery Editor like most people seem to use it. I'll paint the car, add wheels, and some aero parts. I think what we have now in GT is good enough.

Are you guys thinking that it's Neon Lights and nothing else will be added?

More evidence as to why we don't need neons :odd:

Jus' look at dem rimz dawg.

On a serious note, poor car. Imagine the stress on the engine running with those oversized rims. And again, that's why we don't need ricing in GT5.
No thanks.

Not understanding the relationship between neon lights and livery editor TBH.

Whilst I'd like an editor there's more important things to add before that.
Only when the game feels complete should they add the luxury of an editor. Lights shouldnt go in but. If the rest was up to scratch then those that want it are welcome to it.

Just look at how silly it looks "dawg".
Needless to say such combinations do not belong in the Gran Turismo series, and I wouldn't realistically think PD would want to include neons.

Should put those lights in more, looks kinda weird when you can actually see the tube lol. Looks a lot better when all you see is the glow on the ground (like the back of the car).

We use to see a lot of people with ground effect lights, but since they banned them due to driver distraction (in Ontario, not sure about the rest of Canada), you don't see anyone with them.

But still no, we don't need them. I only like seeing them on strictly show cars, not cars that are driven.

Sadly, you're probably right. Who was the person that suggested helmets and gloves and stuff a few years ago?:banghead:

That makes sense in a racing game, neons on the other hand..

Over 1300 helmets and suits make sense? I thought you said a racing game? If it took 1 extra day to make all of that nonsense, it was too long IMO. And the same goes for glowsticks.

Well it seems like a land slide here no to neons.

Now would be the time where I say but.

Thats not going to happen neons have no place in gt5 or 6 if I feel nostalgic ill brush the dust off my need for speed underground 2 sorry op.

I would prefer to see PD spend the time finishing all the standards before considering neons. In fact we dont need any new features, we need all the standards converted to premiums first.

In fact we dont need any standards converted to premiums, we need more courses to race those damn 1100+ cars on.

What good is the premium car if I only have same old +/-15 usable courses to race them on?

We need courses. Lots of them. All 24 "standard" GT3/GT4 courses that are not in GT5 are more than welcomed in "GT5 Laguna Seca's quality" - just upscale them and give them to us and you continue to develop GT6 until 2015. Thank you :)

I'm having 2nd thoughts about my vote guys, I'm starting to see the appeal....

No it doesn't. A livery editor is just that, a way to paint the car like real racers do, from fullly fledged F1 teams to local grassroots racers. Neons have nothing to do with that whatsoever.
