I think, as a whole, his comments are fair enough, particularly the ones regarding damage. His choice of vocabulary may be a bit questionable at times, but for the most part, I can rationalize or make sense of his criticisms to a certain extent.
To me, basically he acknowledged the fact that danger or risk is an inherently elemental part of motor racing, yet it's not well-portrayed in the game. In a race, we want to drive our vehicles to or near the limit, but at the same time we also try to not overshoot and mess our chances up. It's a valid criticism. Sure, it may not be so bothersome for many of us, as we still continue to lament our mistakes on approaching a corner with too much speed, missing the braking point or forgetting to aim for the apex, and thus, we strive to improve ourselves in future drives. But there are also those who exploit such conditions to drive mindlessly all the time, ultimately ruining the essence of proper racing. So, for people who are having a hard time to fight this mindset, the inclusion of damage would be a factor that encourages better driving behavior for their own good, in becoming a more proper player of a racing simulation game. (if they really want to play the game in the way it's supposed to be played - well, yes, it's just a game after all, but if they simply want to wreak havoc most of the time, I'd say they bought the wrong kind of product, so they might as well spend their money on something else that relates to such actions in its very core)
Saying the graphics are ugly is a bold statement indeed, but ultimately, we can agree that it's flawed in this area. It's not really an improvement over the previous game, and it's still unbalanced in how some cars still have less detail.
Whether or not you personally think these conditions make this a bad game is another story. But there's no doubt that there's validity in some of his comments to a certain extent, and he's not just uttering nonsense.
There are still some things he said that I disagreed with, though. For example, the desire to grind endlessly to buy every single car when playing a GT game. That would be quite insane if you strongly have that feeling. Even when I was little, playing GT2, buying every single car was not in my plan.
