It seems to me that the reviewer is what the GTP user would call a "casual gamer".
Still he sums it up pretty well, bland and empty, and that's coming from someone who apparently doesn't even know that he's been promised an advanced track editor, extended customizing options.

I started watching this, but, he's only played the arcade mode, and making assumptions based off of that, and criticizing ANY racing game with licensed cars for not having damage is kinda like...well, I almost want to call it racist. The best damage model I've seen on licensed cars is Viper Racing. Modern times would have to be Driver San Fran. And, in the end it's someone's opinion. But, be warned, NerdCubed can be hard on games.

Sederholm, you can't review promises.

Might want to add a profanity warning. I don't want to see you get an infraction.

Of course you can review promises. If you went to the supermarket and bought a can of Cola and it was filled with water you'd be upset that it wasn't what you was promised, you wouldn't bother that it was excellent quality water.

I often like Nerds video but this....urghh.
Only played Arcade, says that the graphics are ugly (what now?!),tries to sound proefessional but really can't do crap...

Are the graphics any different outside Arcade?
The first thing we are faced with is the interior of a LeMans Prototype which I agree is poorly rendered. Sure, everything is there, it's just so badly textured.

What does he miss by playing the game in arcade mode?
There is no story with cut-scenes that gives depth (GT5 had a teeny tiny bit of this with the Grand Tour).
He's not missing the livery or track editor because there isn't one.

The game is about cars going around a track, you get that in Arcade just the same.
Sure, he doesn't get to change the clothes of his driver but maybe he's gets his fix of that playing The Sims.

I don't think he's trying to sound professional, I think he's quite clear that he is a 'lay man' or 'casual gamer', yet he can "do crap", he can actually win. Read in to that what you want.

Oh,looky here.

1.no they aren't. The cockpit isn't the best, but saying GT6 is ugly is a very bold statement to make. Especially if everyone else knows that its squeezing the last bit of power out of the PS3 and it looks gorgueos.

2. Uhh,everything? The charm of GT is slowly building up to buying that car you've always wanted, taking care of your cars, doing special events etc. If you immediatly hop in a LeMans prototype and do some laps all of that is gone.

3. Alright,sure.

Review is personal opinion and if reviewer thinks it is no good , then it is so , for him. For me ? I done my own review playing it ,I like it , so other peoples opinions don't matter anymore. If someone is undecided or whatever , then go and spend 60€ somewhere else ,but I don't think there will be any other racing/driving game coming to PS3 .Simple.

I think, as a whole, his comments are fair enough, particularly the ones regarding damage. His choice of vocabulary may be a bit questionable at times, but for the most part, I can rationalize or make sense of his criticisms to a certain extent.

To me, basically he acknowledged the fact that danger or risk is an inherently elemental part of motor racing, yet it's not well-portrayed in the game. In a race, we want to drive our vehicles to or near the limit, but at the same time we also try to not overshoot and mess our chances up. It's a valid criticism. Sure, it may not be so bothersome for many of us, as we still continue to lament our mistakes on approaching a corner with too much speed, missing the braking point or forgetting to aim for the apex, and thus, we strive to improve ourselves in future drives. But there are also those who exploit such conditions to drive mindlessly all the time, ultimately ruining the essence of proper racing. So, for people who are having a hard time to fight this mindset, the inclusion of damage would be a factor that encourages better driving behavior for their own good, in becoming a more proper player of a racing simulation game. (if they really want to play the game in the way it's supposed to be played - well, yes, it's just a game after all, but if they simply want to wreak havoc most of the time, I'd say they bought the wrong kind of product, so they might as well spend their money on something else that relates to such actions in its very core)

Saying the graphics are ugly is a bold statement indeed, but ultimately, we can agree that it's flawed in this area. It's not really an improvement over the previous game, and it's still unbalanced in how some cars still have less detail.

Whether or not you personally think these conditions make this a bad game is another story. But there's no doubt that there's validity in some of his comments to a certain extent, and he's not just uttering nonsense.

There are still some things he said that I disagreed with, though. For example, the desire to grind endlessly to buy every single car when playing a GT game. That would be quite insane if you strongly have that feeling. Even when I was little, playing GT2, buying every single car was not in my plan.

Deflect every criticism of a critic with "Oh, I was only trolling." I don't see how that could ever go wrong.

Is it all that it could be? No. Is it better than everything else currently available on a console? In my opinion, yes. I have little respect for a reviewer that drives the game car like he is in a demolition derby and then complains about lack of damage. The way he drives, it there was real damage he would not make it through the first three turns. He should be thankful!

 But seriously pretty cool watching Nerd³'s playing and hearing is reactions to it :dopey:

video has bad language 🤬 so be warned before watching it :nervous:

When someone essentially makes the same thread you made, but in a different forum section

I remember that nerd guy a long time ago on youtube.

I remember he also made a video about GT6 back in 2013 with 1.01 but weirdly in this one he has the 1.0 version.

6:19 My exact reaction

I don't know why but this really annoyed me  but I love how he mixes up a Caterham, an Ariel Atom and a X-Bow

I love Nerd3, I watch all his stuff (Apart from Father & Son Days and Little & Cubed). Best YouTuber IMHO

Disagree. Nerds are usually brilliant and more often than not, quiet.

;)

Geeks, maybe? Or dorks?

One wouldn't want to be online with these guys - especially with mics on; they're youtoobers first, gamers later.
