Netkar pro has a lot of potential, but im holding my money for now. See what they have in store for future.

For now im still enjoying GTL. Will try to get in some timed laps of the demo (netkar pro) and see what i can do :)

I'm not saying it's bad, but I'll let others do the beta testing before buying it.

There's a very easy way to access everything (besides online play) in the demo, anyways... :P

*runs away*

I found out the way :P

But i WILL be buying this game.

Its a wonderful game.

1'33.9 @ Avaino with the F2000. And i can go faster.

Need to fix my DFP pedals though :indiff:

Here are my netkar screenshots!

A few extra bells'n'whistles turned on in the Nvidia control panel as well as 8xAA, 16xAF, 1280x1024x32 @75htz.

The red screenshots have Transparency Antialiasing set to supersampling yet the white ones have that option set to off. Red ones get 30fps, white ones 60 - 90!!!. Enjoy!

So how is the full game? Worth 36 euro's. It's a fair amount of money, but not too much. Was thinking about getting rFactor since it's been out for like a year or something, but this caught my eye as well.

How does it compare to LFS? Is it only open wheeler? Does it have a decent mod community backing? How good are controls and wheel support?

Lastly, how good is the online? Is it comparable to LFS in terms of lag-free and pure enjoyment? I've had problems with other online games, especially the race driver series. GT Legends online was pretty decent tho.

Online is pretty crap atm.

I've never played LFS or Rfactor.

The actual physics and such are better than GTL in my opinion, and the game feels sensational. Its still a bit rough round the edges but the games only been around for 2 weeks. Id say its worth the money, but if you want to be a bit safe, wait a few months and then come back to it. The dev team are fixing as much as they can and are ironing out the bugs. The game has huge potential, but its still early days. I'm having a ball just doing hotlaps with the 4 cars that are avaiable. In 6 months time, this game has the opportunity to be the best sim available!, it already has the best physics, now it just needs the multiplayer to back it up.

just letting you guys know that a new patch came out a few weeks ago :P i just tried it, and the ffb seems better than i remember it. also i am getting much better framerates... but i cant remember if that is because i last played the game with a weaker videocard.
still, DR feels better to me.

Bring this thread back up.

since this game was last discussed here a lot has been released, silverstone, spa, monaco to name a few things, game is in 1.02 stage, personally i think this game is brilliant and will be buying full version next week. Theres also an F1 car for it, and the Singapore F1 track by means of a promotional add on from singtel.

Why are you buying this game when it hasn't been updated in ages... The developer is flaky. But it's your money and you will do as you please.

yeah the racing is much better in LFS. just wait untill the 1.03 patch for netkar pro. untill then, its almost useless.

I will probably get LFS as well.

The thing with NetKar is its the kinda game that I will sit for hours on lapping the same track, currently thats what I have to do as I only have the trial:P. LFS is good dont get me wrong, theres just somethign about NKPro..

I know its a bit late to state this but, I've fell in love with NKpro's physics engine today.

Now I'm not trash talking live for speed but when I played NKPdemo F.1600 back to back with LFSdemo Formula BMW, My experience with NKpro was superior and much more believable. Even with NKP's weird wheel damage.

I'll still wait off on buying it until the 1.03 patch comes out, which is scheduled for this year. This physics engine truly is a diamond in the rough

edit: some videos would be a good way to liven this thread up

Well, I've been meaning to download this game (a bit late, I know). So, I just did. Looking forward to it, and by the looks of the website, there are new things on the horizon for the NKPro team.

;)

i dont know about the front page of the site but this was said by a beta tester, Jaap Wagenvoort

"Stefano has been adding a bunch of new features to 1.0.3 (to name a few: topbar with all kind of session information, replay improvements, brake wear, join lag removal, in-game setup loading, new collision model). Every new feature comes with possible new bugs or could influence other (stable) parts of the software. Like you said: the focus should be on solving the bugs and getting it out now.

In the meanwhile, there have been 10 updates to the latest 1.0.3 Release Candidate. The test team has collected all bugs and issues with the latest update (v10) and these have been reported to Stefano. I believe that once these bugs are removed, 1.0.3 is ready for release."

A 1.0.3 multiplayer demo has also been confirmed by Kunos himself. proper online play will make or break this game in the long run.

P.S., these 2 sites have been keeping this sim alive in competition and content

Grave dig here :) I downloaded the 1.03 demo of this and was pretty impressed... but not enough to buy it as it seemed like a dead game.

They have now released a 1.1 to public Beta AND have it on special for $19 Euros until end of August..

That is now enough reason for me to buy the full version. More details on the RSC forums under NKPro

Thanks!

I downloaded the beta and it's still all white. It seems my graphics card isn't compatible, it has something to do with the shaders.

Boooooooo !!! Thats a shame man.. for such a small game this thing really impresses. Time for a new graphics card ? :D
